Tony Khan says that no matter what happens… AEW is signed to be airing on TNT/TBS & HBO Max through 2027 for sure.
Khan notes they have a great relationship with WBD and David Zaslav. Tony puts HBO over as the greatest brand in all of TV.
I mean this isn’t that bad a situation, the tv channels are staying with discovery. TNT becoming Discovery’s sports network has been floated for quite a while now. Maybe TBS gets rebranded or dropped but TNT is still there.
For streaming, they’ll just transfer it from HBO Max to Discovery Plus, either at the split or after Netflix shuts HBO Max down.
Assuming any of this passes the regulatory process in the first place.
