Chelsea Green addressed Michael Hayes’ comments on WWE Unreal that she isn’t meant to be the ‘Top Girl’:

“One of the head producers of WWE, his name is Michael Hayes. He works very closely with our boss Triple H, and he basically on Unreal said, ‘Chelsea makes the most out of her time, so we don’t need to give her 30 minutes. We give her 30 seconds, and she does the same work, which is great because she’s not meant to be here for 30 minutes. She’s not meant to be the top girl. She’s meant to elevate all those girls to be in that top position, to be a main eventer.’

It’s crazy because I’m a self-aware human being, so I know my kind of place on the totem pole in this fake hierarchy that is wrestling. But to actually hear it, to actually hear that there was a ceiling put on me, it’s different. You can’t help but be pissed off and a little upset and just aggravated at the fact that you thought that there was maybe a chance that there wasn’t that ceiling, that maybe it was all in your head, and then it was confirmed. And it wasn’t confirmed to me. It was confirmed on national television.”

  1. So, anymore proof needed that, compared to McMahon’s horrendous later years in charge of WWE, Triple H has turned out to be even worse?

Gee, looking even more plausible that, given enough time, WWE follows WCW into the dustbin of history, while AEW becomes the new generation WWF.

  2. @Wrestlefan–I’m not praising HHH, but Hayes has been booking for decades so blaming THIS on HHH doesn’t really work. Maybe after the lackluster booking/reception of the Rumble, HHH (by decree of his masters at TKO), will change creative.

Food for thought, everyone complains about Jim Cornette being to old school and out of touch for today’s wrestling. Hayes is 2 years older.

Not everyone. Just the people who listen to Meltzer and the people who can’t handle that he offends what they like and does so in such a fashion that they really don’t have any relevant comebacks. The people who claim Cornette is out of touch can never pinpoint exactly why…

If the money is there, they’ll do as they please. Wrestling isn’t for wrestling fans anymore. It’s either for the “I like shiny things” common crowd or for Meltzerites. And the latter only matter because what they like is backed by a billionaire mark and doesn’t need to earn its keep. Imagine what happens to AEW if anything happens to Tony Khan.
