Frustration expressed on the state of Smackdown, plus updates on Kurt Angle and Wade Barrett

– According to WrestleVotes, multiple people within WWE’s production and creative team are unhappy with the current state of Smackdown

They claim that the 3-hour run time has led to filler content and slow pacing of the show instead of developing younger stars.

    Well, yes. Just like Raw had been for years. When nearly an hour of a 3-hour show is video highlights of past Raws, past Smackdowns, or even from earlier in the very episode you’re currently watching, there’s too much filler. I get that you want a casual fan who dips in and out to feel caught up at all times, but at some point you have to trust the viewer to keep up and most shows put their “previously on…” segments at the beginning. Drawn-out entrances with sing-a-longs (Cody, Roman, Jey, Seth, Randy, etc.) are fun and participatory and all, but they don’t help either.
