Trump appoints Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education, Thatcher vs. Dempsey announced
– President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Linda McMahon, former WWE executive and head of the Small Business Administration during his first term, as the Secretary of Education. McMahon, a longtime friend and major donor to Trump, co-chairs his transition team alongside Howard Lutnick, who has been named Commerce Secretary. McMahon and her husband, Vince McMahon, co-founder of WWE, have maintained close ties with Trump for over 20 years.

Another solid choice by President Trump. Sock hydra could learn a thing, or several, from listening to Jacobs.
Facepalm…just facepalm.
Gee, is Linda going to teach kids how to take chair shots to the head? Or, is she going to teach young girls it’s OK to put on personally-degrading performances in public to satisfy the entertaining of males?
Just curious, what qualifies Linda to handle education?
I agree with stezton. It’s definitely facepalm. Also bad choice.
You morons do know that Linda McMahon has a bachelor’s degree and is a certified teacher, right? Do your damn research before you make monkeys out of yourself!
Wow. I stand corrected. A certified teacher AND a bachelor’s degree? And 76 years old on top of that? Think of the experience! Education alone is not enough, she should be made Secretary of at least three or four more things…
Hey, it took a while, but the comments section is great again…
When the US department of education was established by the Carter administration, lobbied by special interest groups such as teachers unions, the USA held the number one ranking in education. These days, the ranking is bordering on 25th without any sign of improvement. The democrats love using these rankings to push for more funding, so I’ll use it to show their incompetence instead.
Much like economics “experts” tied to the state, education “experts” have destroyed the foundations of helping students reach their full potential.
Linda has the drive required to help improve the systems of education.
I’ve noticed a poll on this subject is now added to this site. Just like elections without voter ID, the likes of sock hydra will stuff the figurative ballot box with thumbs down votes to “own” Trump. Let’s see how this one plays out.
@Nightmare & @Luke
Yea, about that “education” degree Mrs. McMahon “claimed” to have:
https://politizoom.com/busted-mcmahon-caught-lying-about-a-degree-she-didnt-have/
What she DOES have is a bachelor’s degree in French & engaged in a semester of student teaching (she mistakenly thought that meant she had an education degree).
Turns out, she’s a good fit for Trump, because she’s as much a liar as he is.
And, as for her being a certified teacher:
https://www.ndtv.com/education/who-is-linda-mcmahon-meet-trumps-pick-as-new-education-secretary-7063137
She’s ONLY certified to teach French. NOTHING else.
And, no surprise Gerweck’s resident Trumper hydra weighing in with their opinion NO ONE asked for.
God help America if Trump gets back into the Oval Office in January…
I thought I heard that President Trump was going to do away with the department of education
@Bob
No, not the department. Just education…
@DB
Yeah, Trump’s gonna educate everyone. That’s what he’s after, an educated country. So he can stand out even more…
The next four years are going to be priceless. We’ve got an emotionally fragile head of a social media network running a made up agency. We’ve got a conspiracy theorist, a doctor that is the suibject of multiple lawsuits, and two talk show host in his cabinet. And then there’s Linda, who turned a blind eye to the Mel Phillips fiasco, and the last time she was named to a cabinet position, she refused to divest herself from the WWE, which created a conflict of interest that was gleefully ignored.
Oh, these next four years are going to be something to behold. And whatever bad comes from it, this country rightly deserves.
@Luke
Actually, all the news outlets have reported that Trump indeed is set on “dismantling” the Education Department.
In fact, here’s the news report from the UK’s BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c79zxzj90nno
Ah sock hydra. At first, you showed you couldn’t debate well so you set up multiple accounts. Then you tried using sources with reporting that was debunked. Then you tried to mirror my posts, terribly, which would only amuse children of low intelligence. Now you are using my DB moniker to confuse the chat, while showing yet again how ineffectual you are at discussion. Pathetic.
I have encountered troglodytes such as sock hydra on forums in the 90s. It’s now 2024, and some of us have have evolved online, while others stay inert in their development. In hydra’s case, they have regressed. Sad. Very sad.
Anyhow, Gerweck has the email I use since my first post on here and can clear any confusion if required. However, by doing so, wastes his time that could be used keeping the articles on this site up to date. Wasting his time by continuously acting as petulant child is selfish at best.
I’ll continue to post as I always have, and sock hydra can please themselves.
@DB
1. You can’t call others out for being poor at discussion with your head in the sand, that’s just dumb…
2. From the outpour of both support and hate towards someone imitating you, you can pretty much pinpoint the number of people that care.
3. If you were half as bright as you think you are, you’d see that this isn’t the same person.
@Luke Sock hydra is on your side of the political fence. Enjoy the company of your ilk.
@DB
See, this is exactly how you hide your head in the sand.
The WrestleFunnies accuse me of being on yours…
@Luke I’m a supporter of President Trump. You dislike President Trump. Sock hydra dislikes President Trump. We’re on different sides of the ring. You’re not mentally unhinged in contrast to hydra, I’ll give you that much.
I take it back. I don’t support Trump at all. If I do, I should have been in prison by now. Yes, I’m a felon. That’s the truth. Heck, I should harass Stormy Daniels and Matt Gaetz too.
Silly DB, felons don’t go to prison, they become presidents.
@DB
So if you like green and I don’t like green say Hitler doesn’t like green that makes me like Hitler? You sure that makes sense? You sure it doesn’t make more sense to group you together with him when you two like different colors but for the exact same reasons?
@Luke The subject isn’t about colors, it’s about views of President Trump. I don’t see any mention of green or Hitler in the article. The strawman argument you present is voided.
@DB
Not a strawman argument. It’s an analogy. I’ll break it down for you: Trump > colors, WrestleFunnies > Hitler, you > you, me > me. Hope that helps.
And no, you’re arguing about Trump. That doesn’t make him the subject. I was calling you out for your cowardice (which you seem to have been working on, congrats) and delusions of grandeur (no progress there at all). You picked up the glove. That means you are the subject, not Trump. Your attempt at changing the subject, that’s your strawman argument right there.
By the way, voided? You sure it’s not “debunked”? Any bells ringing there? Are you a master voider?
@WrestleFunnies
I miss you. Please come back. You’re entertaining. DB’s about as entertaining as an Orange Cassidy promo… (Analogy again!). He’s trying, he’s growing, but he’s still got a long way to go.
@Luke Changing the subject of the article to create another argumentative point seems like a strawman. I chose not to validate your tactic. I tend to find conversing with other adults that analogies are best used in a constructive approach.
The reason you were ignored for so long was due to your habit of attacking the person and not the argument. So I put you in a time out of sorts. Little children learn to correct bad habits with this method. It may be time for another timeout, so enjoy the sock hydra camaraderie while you can, until he turns on you again.
@DB
So when you attack a person, that’s cool. When someone else does it, it sucks. What were you saying about little children again?
But thank you for those “timeouts”, you’re getting a little more entertaining. Spinning cowardice into a teachable moment, that’s priceless.
Acting all high and mighty isn’t ignoring. Trying to make you understand something you don’t (although failing miserably) is indeed constructive. You can’t just use smart words to be smart, you need to know what they mean and if they apply. You need to learn a little more about what I’m guessing is your first and only language. Perhaps that would be a better use of your time than posting elated comments under every Trump and Jacobs article ever. I think the support your comments have gained on this site speaks volumes as to how “constructive” they were…
