Bischoff responds to Khan claiming AEW is under “constant attack” from critics
During his 83 Weeks podcast, former WCW President Eric Bischoff responded to AEW President Tony Khan saying that AEW is under “constant attack” from critics…
“Maybe it’s everybody else’s fault. Maybe it’s because, you know, ‘to be in AEW is to be under constant attack’ because you’re the challenger brand. Tony, you keep bringing that up. You’re not the challenger brand. Who are you challenging? You’re only challenging the bottom of the barrel, and you’re getting really close to establishing a new record. Anyone else in your position who would have been hired and held accountable would have been fired a long time ago.
You’re in a unique position, Tony, because it’s your money, and you can spend as much of it as you want. You have an almost unlimited source of it. Good for you—I’m not saying that’s a bad thing; I wouldn’t mind being in that position. But that’s the only reason you still exist on television. If you were held accountable for anything, you’d have been fired a long time ago.”

@Gau
Yeah, not even close. Bischoff actually made money with WCW. He was also fired. He talked his way into his position, he wasn’t born into it. And he’s profiting more from his podcast than Tony is from his wrestling company.
Also, in Tony’s mind, any criticism is an “attack.” Big things, little things, constructive, trolling, doesn’t matter – if anything is said that runs counter to his grand vision of AEW (whatever that is), it and everyone in it and he personally are all being attacked. Wait until he hears that plenty of people don’t like WWE or TNA or even other forms of entertainment that aren’t wrestling and freely share their opinions about those too…
@Luke
Why anyone even listens to Bischoff anymore is beyond me.
He’s simply jealous that he’s no longer running a company going up against WWE.
I mean, the company he used to have, WWE acquired.
Bischoff has no room to talk; he’s socially irrelevant.
@Woooo!
Simple answer: he’s entertaining. I don’t care if he’s socially irrelevant (whatever that means). I don’t have room for such concepts to dictate my life.
