Biography

– Lance is a former American sports broadcaster & ring announcer.
– Lance worked for NWA Mid-America and it’s descendant promotion the Continental Wrestling Association from 1959 – 1988. He was notable as a announcing partner with Dave Brown.
– 1989 – 1993, Russell worked for the WCW.
– 1994, Russell was inducted into the Memphis Wrestling Hall of Fame.
– 1996, Russell was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame.
– Russell worked for Smoky Mountain Wrestling near the end of the promotions existence. Russell would go into semi-retirement in 1997.
– 2006, Russell was inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame.
– 2009, Russell was inducted into the NWA Wrestling Legends Hall of Heroes.
– 2016, Russell was honored with the Announcers Award by the Cauliflower Alley Club.
– October 3, 2017, Russell passed away due to complications from a broken hip.
