12/16/20 AEW Dynamite Report

– Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite begins with the opening video package & pyro/fireworks. We see introductions from our commentators for the night. Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone & Excalibur. Justin Roberts is the ring announcer for the night.

Match #1: Matt Hardy & Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) defeated Alex Reynolds, John Silver & Hangman Page. Private Party hit the Gin & Juice on Reynolds but then Hardy tagged himself in to get the pinfall.

– We see Alex Marvez interviewing the Inner Circle about how MJF won the New York Times best performance for his role in the Dinner Debonaire. Jericho doesn’t seem too happy about it. Marvez then hypes up the next match as Cody Rhodes vs. Angélico. We also hear that Dynamite will be on at 10pm next Wednesday or right after the featured NBA game.

– Before the next match, Justin Roberts states that Cody Rhodes is a future father in his introduction. Brandi Rhodes accompanies him & Arn Anderson to the ring but heads backstage.
Match #2: Cody Rhodes defeated Angélico with a Cody Cutter. After the match Team Taz come out to cut a promo on congratulating Cody on being a future father. They then start telling Darby Allin (in the rafters) that he’ll be mince meat once Brian Cage gets a hold of him. Taz then speaks back towards Cody & says that they’ll put him on paturnity leave but then Sting comes out to make Team Taz retreat. Sting & Darby Allin stare one another down.

– We then go to Alex Marvez interviewing Miro for his actions last week & how they’re fining him $75,000. He says they’ll have the biggest wedding date announcement next week on Dynamite. He’ll also be taking on Sonny Kiss on Dark next week.
– Eddie Kingston makes his way to the ring, he says boo/cheer my name it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t care about any of you people. He brings up his enemies by starting with the Big Guy upstairs & says I ain’t dead yet. Then he says where is Pac? He went back home to lick his wounds. Next he says that big goofy bastard Lance Archer but then Archer runs down to the ring but is stopped by The Butcher & The Blade. Rey Fenix, Penta El Zero Meido & Pac show up to take down Kingston, Butcher & Blade while Allie just looks on. Archer isn’t happy that Pac kicks Kingston in the face while Archer had him in the Chokeslam position.
– Dasha Gonzalez interviews Dustin Rhodes, he says Seven was a bad idea before & it will be now. He says he’ll kick Evil Uno’s ass next week. December 30th will begin the first night of The New Year’s Smash.

– Orange Cassidy joins the commentary booth (he says nothing) for the next match.
Match#3: The Inner Circle (Jake Hager, Chris Jericho, MJF, Santana, Ortiz & Sammy Guevara) defeated Best Friends (Trent? & Chuck Taylor), Varsity Blondes (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison) & Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin). After the match Jericho & MJF try to beat down the losing team but Top Flight clears the ring.

– We see Marvez interviewing Thunder Rosa as she says that Britt Baker brought her big nose into her business & she belongs in AEW. Rebel starts speaking to Thunder Rosa but Baker attacks her from behind & locks in the Lockjaw. She then looks at the camera & says does this still work or did her ugly face break the camera?

– Before their tag match, Kazarian rap battles Max Caster & seemingly defeated him.
Match #4: The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) defeated SCU (Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels). After the match Caster raps at the Young Bucks who have been sitting at ringside. Bowens says the Acclaimed is here & challenges the Bucks for the Tag Team Titles next week on Dynamite.

– Dasha interviews Top Flight backstage & they cut a promo on Chris Jericho & MJF. They challenge them to a tag team match next week.

– We see a recap of the Vicious Vixens (Nyla Rose & Vicki Guerrero) attacking Red Velvett but then Big Swole & Serena Deeb comes to the rescue but Ivelisse & Diamante join the brawl. It set up the upcoming matchup.
Match #5: Big Swole & Serena Deeb defeated Ivelisse & Diamante as Swole makes Diamante tap out to the Clearwater Cloverleaf. After the match Nyla Rose comes to the ring to help Diamante & Ivelisse beat down Swole & Deeb. Red Velvett runs to the ring with a chair to run them off.

– Best Friends cut a promo stating that it’ll never be over between them and Santana & Ortiz but they have other fish to fry with Miro & Kip Sabian. They say they’ll be there next week for the Wedding celebration. Up next we see a video package for Jurassic Express as they’re in action next week against Dark Order. We see FTR at the commentary booth saying why are you showing packages on the sideshow guys when they are the best tag team around.
– Next week The Young Bucks defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against The Acclaimed, Pac vs. The Butcher, Jurassic Express vs. Dark Order (Colt Cabana, 5 & 10), MJF & Chris Jericho vs. Top Flight & Dustin Rhodes vs. Evil Uno.

Match #6: Kenny Omega defeated Joey Janela in a No DQ & No Time Limit matchup. After the match Don Callis says no more questions about the stupid eliminator tournament but then Death Triangle comes out to the ring & points out that Omega never defeated Fenix in the eliminator tournament. Don tells Pac that wrestlers don’t tell the World Champion what to do. Pac says that December 30th, Kenny Omega will defend the AEW World Title against Rey Fenix.
