Biography
– Ogawa attended Visual Arts colleges in both Tokyo and Nagoya
– Ogawa first became involved in wrestling as a ringside photographer for All Japan Women in 1978. He would soon become involved in a variety of backstage roles for the company, culminating in his addition to the creative team in the mid-1980s
– Ogawa left All Japan Women in 1997 after a falling out with the promotion’s owners
– Later that year, Ogawa would co-found the Arsion promotion alongside Aja Kong
– After much management turmoil (both business and wrestling), Arsion folded in mid-2003 and was subsequently acquired by Yumiko Hotta
– Ogawa founded World Wonder Ring Stardom in 2010, alongside retired wrestler Fuka Kakimoto, who would serve as the company’s trainer. Ogawa would serve as the lead booker for the company
– Ogawa sold Stardom to Bushiroad, the parent company of New Japan Pro Wrestling in October 2019. He would stay on as President of the now subsidiary company
– Ogawa was fired by Bushiroad in February 2024 due to alleged talent poaching
– In April 2024, Ogawa founded a new promotion, Dream Star Fighting Marigold, shortened to Marigold and would bring several Stardom wrestlers along with him in a similar, but less drastic, manner as the NOAH/AJPW split several years prior
