AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020 Recap
Fight for the Fallen opens with a video package highlighting tonight’s matches. Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Taz are on commentary from Jacksonville, Florida. Tony Schiavone is not on commentary due to his test results not coming in. Ross says Schiavone is fine, but the results for his test weren’t in and he is just taking precautions.

AEW TNT Championship Match: Cody (c) (w/Arn Anderson) vs. Sonny Kiss
Cody drops Kiss with a kick to the face, and then delivers a series of shots in the corner. Cody suplexes Kiss to the mat and does some push-ups. Kiss comes back and sends Cody over the ropes, but Cody comes back with the Disaster Kick. Cody goes for the cover, but Kiss kicks out. Cody sends Kiss to the floor and follows, but Anderson tells Cody to get his head out of his ass. Cody tosses Kiss back into the ring, but Kiss delivers a forearm shot and throws Cody to the floor. Kiss slams Cody into the barricade, and then lays him on the apron. Kiss stomps on Cody’s back and gets him back into the ring. Kiss delivers an enzuigiri and goes for a slap in the corner, but Cody counters and applies a Full Nelson. Kiss gets free and delivers a dropkick. Kiss suplexes Cody to the mat and kicks him in the face. Kiss drops Cody with a hurricanrana, and then delivers a right hand in the corner. Kiss delivers the X’s and O’s in the corner and goes for the cover, but Cody kicks out.
Kiss goes for the split leg drop, but Cody dodges and kicks Kiss in the head. Kiss comes back and drops Cody with Cross Rhodes and goes for the cover, but Cody kicks out. Kiss goes up top and connects with a 450 splash. Kiss goes for the cover, but Cody kicks out. Kiss goes for a head-scissors take down, but Cody tosses him onto the entrance ramp. Cody delivers an Alabama Slam to Kiss on the ramp and rolls him back into the ring. Cody goes for the cover, but Kiss kicks out. Cody spikes Kiss to the mat and goes for the cover, but Kiss kicks out again. Cody sets Kiss up top, and then takes him down with a superplex. Cody goes for the cover, but Kiss kicks out. Cody gets into referee Aubrey Edwards’s face, but Kiss rolls him up for a two count. Cody comes back with a cross-face submission, but Kiss makes it to the ropes. The turnbuckle gets exposed, but Kiss counters Cody and sends him head-first into the exposed steel. Kiss rolls up Cody, but Cody kicks out at two. Kiss delivers a few shots, but Cody counters the last one, delivers Cross Rhodes, and gets the pin fall.

-After the match, Cody helps Kiss to his feet and they share a hug in the ring.

Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) (w/The Butcher and The Blade) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)
Harwood and Pentagon start the match. and Pentagon gains the advantage with shots and kicks to the back. Harwood comes back and stomps on Pentagon’s hands. They exchange shots in the corner, and then Pentagon delivers a superkick. Fenix tags in, and Lucha Brothers double-team Harwood. Pentagon slams Fenix onto Harwood and Fenix goes for the cover, but Harwood kicks out. Harwood comes back and sends Fenix off the ropes as Wheeler makes a tag. FTR double-team Fenix and slam him to the mat. Wheeler goes for the cover, but Fenix kicks out. Harwood tags back in, and FTR double-team Fenix again. Harwood delivers a leg drop and slams Fenix in the corner. Wheeler tags in and chokes Fenix over the ropes. Wheeler goes for a suplex, but Fenix lands on his feet and tags in Pentagon. Fenix knocks Harwood to the floor, and Lucha Brothers deliver a double superkick to Wheeler. Lucha Brother send Wheeler to the outside as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Fenix and Wheeler are in the ring. Harwood tags in and delivers a series of shots to Fenix. Harwood drops Pentagon with a shot, and then delivers suplexes to Fenix. Harwood suplexes Pentagon onto Fenix and then drops Pentagon with a clothesline. Harwood suplexes Fenix into the corner and then delivers a sliding uppercut. Harwood goes for the cover, but Fenix kicks out. Wheeler tags in, but Harwood gets sent to the floor. Fenix and Pentagon double-team Wheeler and Fenix connects with a splash. Pentagon delivers a leg drop and goes for the cover, but Wheeler kicks out. Fenix tags back in and Lucha Brothers go for the spike pile-driver, but Wheeler gets free. Wheeler tags in Harwood, and FTR slam Fenix to the mat. Harwood goes for the cover, but Pentagon breaks it up. Pentagon sends Wheeler to the floor and tags back in. Harwood and Pentagon go up top, but Fenix tags in. Harwood suplexes Pentagon to the mat. Wheeler dives, but Pentagon gets his knees up. Fenix dives, but Harwood gets his knees up and all four men are down.
They all get to their feet and brawl in the ring. Fenix and Harwood fall to the floor and Pentagon slams Wheeler in the ring. Pentagon and Wheeler get on the apron and exchange shots. Pentagon delivers an enzuigiri and goes for a dive, but Wheeler dodges and drops Pentagon with a DDT on the floor. Fenix drops Wheeler with a dive and kicks Harwood in the face. Fenix and Harwood get into the ring and Fenix connects with a hookkick. Harwood comes back and pulls on Fenix’s mask and rolls him up for the pin fall.
Winners: FTR
-After the match, Butcher and Blade still have the key to FTR’s truck, but The Young Bucks come from behind and lay them out with superkicks. The Bucks grab the key, and then Kenny Omega comes out as well. Omega brings a cooler in the ring. Matt Jackson gives the key to FTR and then Omega gives them some beer. He toasts them, but they dump their beer over his head. Omega goes after them, but the Bucks hold him back.

Chris Jericho comes to the ring with Jake Hager, Santana, and Ortiz. He talks about beating Orange Cassidy last week, but says Cassidy, the advertisers, and everyone else wants a rematch to take place. He says a rematch isn’t going to happen. He says Cassidy did well, but not well enough to get the job done. He says there will never be a rematch and tells Cassidy to enjoy the fact that he got to be in the ring with Le Champion for one night.They pour orange juice in the ring. Cassidy’s music hits, and he comes to the stands. Jericho says Cassidy doesn’t have what it takes to hang with him. He runs down Cassidy and says there will never be a rematch. He tells Cassidy to get out of his arena and calls him a piece of shit. Cassidy gives a thumbs up, but turns it into a thumbs down. Orange juice drops from the ceiling and lands on Jericho, Hager, Santana, and Ortiz. Jericho calls for a towel, and a stagehand throws him a towel with Cassidy’s face on it.

Alex Marvez interviews Jurassic Express backstage. Marko Stunt laughs and calls Jericho an idiot. Luchasaurus says he has waited 65 million years for an opportunity to prove himself.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) vs. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Marko Stunt)
Jungle Boy and Nick start the match. They exchange wrist-locks and arm drags. They exchange quick pin attempts, and then we see Adam Page watching the match from backstage while enjoying a beverage. Stunt tags in, as does Omega. Omega throws Stunt to the mat and fakes a handshake. Stunt delivers a few shots and takes Omega down with an arm drag. Stunt goes for the cover, but Omega kicks out. Stunt kicks Omega in the face, but Matt and Luchsaurus tag in. Luchasaurus throws Matt into the corner and delivers a spin kick. Luchasaurus goes for the cover, but Matt kicks out. Jurassic Express triple-teams Matt and Jungle Boy takes out Nick and Omega. Jungle Boy and Stunt take out Matt on the outside, but Nick kicks Stunt in the head. Omega takes Luchasaurus to the outside as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Jungle Boy drops Nick to the outside with a hurricanrana and drops Omega with a clothesline. Jungle Boy drops Matt with a DDT and tags in Luchasaurus. Nick tags in as well and Luchasaurus delivers a kick. Luchasaurus kicks Omega as well, and then delivers one to Matt. Luchasaurus kicks Nick in the face, and delivers another kick to Matt. Luchasaurus connects with the standing moonsault and goes for the cover, but Matt kicks out. FTR joins Page at the bar backstage as Omega gets into the ring. Luchasaurus delivers a headbutt to Omega, but Omega comes back with a few knee strikes. Omega drops Luchsaurus with the snap dragon, and then does the same to Stunt and Jungle Boy. Luchasaurus hits Omega with a back elbow, and Stunt drops him with a hurricanrana. Jurassic Express drops Omega with the Extinction Event, but the Bucks come back and even the odds. Stunt and Jungle Boy get sent to the outside, and then The Elite drop Luchasaurus with a triple pile-driver. Omega goes for the cover, but Luchasaurus kicks out.
Stunt tags in, as does Nick. Jungle Boy drops Nick with a hurricanrana, and then Stunt hits a 450 splash. Stunt goes for the cover, but Matt breaks it up. The Bucks send Jurassic Express to the entrance ramp and Matt tags in. Stunt takes Matt down with an avalanche Canadian Destroyer and goes for the cover, but Omega and Nick breaks it up. Omega tags in and delivers a V Trigger to Luchasaurus. He delivers one to Jungle Boy as well and goes for the One Winged Angel on Stunt. Stunt rolls through and gets a roll up for two, but Omega hits the V Trigger and the One Winged Angel and gets the pin fall.
Winners: The Elite
-After the match, Omega delivers more shots to Stunt, but The Bucks come in and get him to stop. Omega smirks, but gets to his feet and tries to apologize. Jurassic Express leaves, and Omega smirks again.

Alex Marvez is backstage with Hikaru Shida. She says she is ready to give Nyla Rose her rematch, but she tells the rest of the women’s division to prove that they are ready as well.

A promo from Jon Moxley airs. He says the AEW World Championship is on the line tonight, and he has a hell of a fight in front of him with Brian Cage. He says he is going to rip Cage’s bicep in two; the same bicep that kept Cage out of the ring for five months. He tells Cage to enjoy the hospital.

The Nightmare Sisters (Allie and Brandi Rhodes) (w/Dustin Rhodes) vs. Kenzie Paige and MJ Jenkins
Rhodes and Paige start the match and Rhodes drops her with a pump kick. Rhodes sends Paige into the corner and delivers an elbow shot. Allie tags in and she and Rhodes double-team Paige. Jenkins tags in, but Allie and Rhodes keep control. Allie drops Jenkins to the mat and gets the pin fall.

Dasha Gonzalez interviews Nyla Rose in the ring. Rose says she is not going to tell anyone anything about her manager, because she is going to let her speak for herself. Vickie Guerrero comes to the ring. Guerrero says she is now officially Rose’s manager, and from this moment on the rest of the women in the locker room need to stop lying to themselves and realize they are not on Rose’s level.

AEW World Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Brian Cage (w/Taz)
They brawl right from the bell and Cage drops Moxley with a clothesline. Cage drives Moxley into the corner and drives his shoulder into his midsection. Cage delivers another clothesline and then tosses him across the ring. Cage delivers an uppercut in the corner, but Moxley comes back with a dropkick. Moxley wraps Cage’s arm in the ropes and slams it onto the mat. Moxley works over Cage’s arm and drops him to the mat. Moxley goes for the cover, but Cage kicks out and delivers a series of shots. Cage tries to suplex Moxley to the outside, but Moxley drapes Cage’s arm over the top rope. Moxley takes Cage out with a dive and locks him in an arm-bar, but Cage slams him into the barricade. They brawl into the stands and Moxley wraps Cage’s arm in the barricade and delivers a kick to it. Moxley lays a barricade on the ring apron and goes for a suplex, but Cage counters and suplexes Moxley onto it as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Cage suplexes Moxley to the mat. Cage goes for the cover, but Moxley kicks out. Cage applies a Camel Clutch, but Moxley gets free.Cage sends Moxley into the barricade and follows him to the floor. Moxley delivers a kick, but Cage suplexes him onto a chair that Moxley set up. Cage gets Moxley back in the ring, but Moxley rolls him up for two. Moxley gets another roll up and delivers a few elbow strikes. Cage comes back and slams Moxley to the mat. Cage goes for a moonsault, but Moxley moves. Moxley delivers a few shots, but Cage comes back with a clothesline. Moxley comes back with a clothesline of his own and hits the Paradigm Shift. Moxley goes for the cover, but Cage kicks out. Moxley gets Cage up top and suplexes him back to the mat. Moxley goes for the cover, but Cage kicks out. Moxley locks in an arm-bar, but Cage counters and power bombs Moxley into the corner. Cage suplexes Moxley to the mat and goes for the Drill Claw, but Moxley counters. Moxley applies a cross arm-breaker and gets in Taz’s face, and Taz throws in the towel.

-After the match, Cage lays Moxley out with the FTW Championship belt and delivers a series of right hands on the mat. The lights go out, and when they comes back on Darby Allin is on the top rope. Allin comes off the ropes and hits Cage with his skateboard, and Cage leaves the ring with Taz. Moxley and Allin stare each other down as Taz tries to hold Cage back on the stage.
