AEW Fyter Fest 2020 Night 2 Recap

Night 2 of Fyter Fest opens with a quick rundown of the card. Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Tony Schiavone are on commentary from Jacksonville, Florida.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Adam Page and Kenny Omega (c) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) (w/Matt Hardy)
Quen and Omega start the match with a handshake. Omega applies a wrist-lock, but Quen counters out. Omega applies a side headlock, but Quen turns it into one of his own. Quen trips Omega to the mat and goes for a standing moonsault, but Omega gets his knees up. Omega kicks Quen in the back and slams him into Page’s boot. Page tags in and knocks Kassidy to the floor. Page and Omega double-team Quen with chops, and then Page takes him down with a fall-away slam. Page goes for the cover, but Quen kicks out. Omega tags back in, and he and Page double-team Quen again. Quen comes back and delivers a dropkick to both of them and tags in Kassidy. Private Party drops Omega with the Silly String, and then Kassidy takes out Page and a bunch of people at ringside with a dive. Kassidy goes for a senton on Omega, but Omega gets his knees up. Quen gets into the ring and delivers an enzuigiri to Omega, but Page follows up and kicks Quen in the face. Page and Omega sent Quen to the mat, but Kassidy comes back and he and Quen drop Omega with a double Spanish Fly. Kassidy goes for the cover, but Omega kicks out.
Kassidy and Omega exchange shots, and then Kassidy delivers a back-breaker. Kassidy goes for the cover, but Omega kicks out. Quen tags in and kicks Page to the floor. Omega delivers shots to Quen and Kassidy, and then sends Quen into Kassidy as Page tags in. Page power bombs Quen onto Kassidy and goes for the cover, but Quen kicks out. Page sends Kassidy to the floor, and then delivers a chop to Quen. Quen comes back and sends Page into the corner, and Kassidy connects with a kick. Kassidy takes out Omega with a moonsault on the floor, and Quen goes up top. Quen goes for a 450, but Page moves. Page goes for the Buckshot Lariat, but Kassidy blocks him and drops him with a DDT on the stage. Quen goes up top and connects with a Shooting Star Press. Quen goes for the cover, but Omega breaks it up. Private Party goes for Gin and Juice on Page, but Omega drops Kassidy Quen with the V Trigger. Page and Omega hit the Last Call on Kassidy, and Page gets the pin fall.

Lance Archer (w/Jake Roberts) vs. Joey Janela (w/Sonny Kiss)
Archer beats up Sonny Kiss on his way to the ring, and throws Kiss into Janela. The bell rings, and Archer beats down Janela on the floor. Archer throws Janela back into the ring, but Janela connects with a few dropkicks. Janela takes Archer down with a cross-body, and then grabs a table. Janela grabs a chair as well, but Archer comes back and beats him down. Archer tosses Janela back into the ring and chokes him over the top rope. Archer connects with an elbow shot to Janela, and then stomps on his back. Archer chops Janela in the corner, and then slams him into the opposite corner. Janela comes back with chops and slaps, but Archer knocks him back down with one shot to the face. Archer delivers clubbing shots to Janela’s chest and back as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Janela attempts a comeback and delivers a few shots. Janela goes for clotheslines, and then kicks Archer’s knees. Archer comes back and sends Janela to the apron. Janela delivers a shot to the midsection and runs the ropes, but Archer catches him and goes for the Blackout. Janela counters and slams Archer to the mat. Janela goes for the cover, but Archer kicks out. Janela delivers ashot in the corner, and then delivers a thrust kick. Janela connects with a knee strike, but Roberts gets on the apron with his snake in the bag. Janela connects with a senton, and Kiss delivers a 450 to Archer behind the referee’s back. Janela goes for the cover, but Archer kicks out. Janela goes up top, but Archer slaps him in the face. Archer delivers the Blackout through the table that Janela set up on the floor earlier. Archer rolls Janela back into the ring and gets the pin fall.

A new vignette from Darby Allin airs. He practices Coffin Drops from an elevated platform into a foam pool.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring, and brings out Brian Cage and Taz for an interview. Taz says Schiavone has been a part of many iconic moments in wrestling history, and this will be another one. Taz says Jon Moxley was supposed to defend the AEW World Championship against Cage tonight, but now that will happen next week. Taz says he is holding something that he created decades ago. He says it was created with his blood, sweat, and tears. He pulls out the FTW World Championship. He says no promotion has ever recognized the FTW Championship, but wrestling fans worldwide have. He says whoever holds the title is the baddest son of a bitch on the planet, and that man is Brian Cage. He presents the title to Cage and says the FTW Championship is some renegade shit. He tells Moxley that he is ass is done.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) and The Butcher and The Blade
Pentagon and Nick start the match. Pentagon throws his glove at Harwood, and Harwood tags in. They lock up, and Harwood applies a hammer-lock. Pentagon slaps him in the face, but Harwood comes back with an elbow shot. Harwood delivers more shots, and kicks Pentagon in the midsection. Harwood takes Pentagon down and tags in Wheeler. Wheeler delivers a few shots ans tags Harwood back in. Harwood stomps on Pentagon, but Pentagon comes back and chops Harwood across the chest. Fenix tags in, and he and Pentagon double-team Harwood. Fenix goes for the cover, but Harwood kicks out. Fenix comes off the ropes, but Harwood catches him and drops him with a clothesline. Wheeler tags in and slams Fenix to the mat after Harwood tossed him in the air. Matt makes a blind tag and holds Fenix as Harwood delivers a forearm shot. Blade tags in, but Matt drops him with an arm-drag. Nick tags in, and he and Matt double-team Blade. They drop Fenix and Butcher with dropkicks, as well, but Blade comes back with a pump kick to Nick. Butcher drops Nick with a gut-buster, and then Blade power bombs Nick. Blade goes for the cover, but Nick kicks out. Pentagon tags in and drops Nick with a cross-body.
Butcher, Pentagon and Fenix triple-team Nick, and Pentagon goes for the cover, but Nick kicks out. Fenix tags in and he and Nick go up top, but Nick takes him out with a hurricanrana. Nick goes for the cover, but Fenix kicks out. Wheeler tags in, and he and Nick double-team Fenix. All hell breaks loose with all eight men brawling as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Wheeler and Blade are in the ring. Wheeler drops Blade with a back-drop and tags in Matt. Matt takes out Butcher and Blade with a cross-body, and then drops Lucha Brothers as well. Matt drops Pentagon with a Sliced Bread, and then takes Fenix to the mat. Matt takes out Butcher and Blade with a cross-body and then drops onto Fenix. Matt goes for the cover, but Fenix kicks out. Fenix comes back with a heel kick and tags in Blade. Harwood tags in and drops Blade with a DDT. Butcher gets into the ring and delivers shots to Harwood and Matt, but Matt and Harwood deliver superkicks to him. Fenix takes out Harwood and Matt with a dropkick, and then Nick and Wheeler drop Fenix with the Goodnight Express. Butcher brawls with Wheeler, but Wheeler drops him with a DDT on the apron. Matt and Harwood drop Blade with a spike pile-driver and Harwood goes for the cover, but Pentagon pulls Harwood to the floor. FTR and the Bucks tag each other in. Matt and Harwood suplex Blade, Wheeler splashes on him, and Nick delivers a senton. Nick goes for the cover, but Fenix breaks it up.
Pentagon and Matt get into the ring and Fenix kicks Nick in the face. Pentagon sends Matt to the floor and charges, but Nick conncts with an elbow. Fenix takes Nick out with a Canadian Destroyer on everyone else on the floor. Wheeler knocks Fenix to the floor, and then Matt hits Harwood with an incidental superkick. Fenix and Pentagon slam Matt to the mat and Pentagon gets the pin fall.
Winners: Lucha Brothers and The Butcher and The Blade

Big Swole tries to enter the arena, but Alex Marvez says she cannot. She is presented a letter that says she is suspended, and she blames Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. for it.

2-on-1 Handicap Match: Nyla Rose vs. Kenzie Paige and KiLynn King
King starts the match, but tags in Paige immediately. Rose drops Paige with a clothesline, and then delivers a headbutt. Rose slams Paige into the corner, and then King gets tagged in. King delivers a few shots and applies a sleeper. Rose backs her into the corner and delivers an elbow. Rose suplexes Paige across the ring, and then drops King with a Spear. Rose grabs Paige and slams her into King. Rose delivers the Beast Bomb to Paige onto King and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Nyla Rose
-After the match, Rose grabs a mic. She says actions speak louder than words, and her actions tonight speak for themselves. She says she sees all of these wrestlers with managers, and she has hired a manager for herself. She says her manager will ensure that she once again becomes the AEW Women’s World Champion.

An update is given on Colt Cabana. The medical staff has cleared him to compete, and Mr. Brodie Lee walks in. He says with him watching Cabana’s back, these types of things won’t happen anymore. He tells Cabana to get ready for the match.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky) vs. Dark Order (Mr. Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, and Stu Grayson) (w/5, 10, Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, and John Silver)
Lee and Daniels start the match. Grayson tags in, but Daniels takes him down with an arm-drag. Daniels keeps a hold of Grayson’s arm, but Grayson comes back and drops Daniels with a forearm shot. Grayson delivers a dropkick and goes for the cover, but Daniels kicks out. Daniels comes back with a back-breaker and tags in Kazarian. Daniels and Kazarian double-team Grayson, and then Kazarian stomps him on the mat. Kazarian trips Grayson into the ropes and takes him down with a suplex. Kazarian goes for the cover, but Grayson kicks out. Sky tags in, and he and Kazarian drop Grayson with a double back-elbow strike. Sky goes for the cover, but Grayson kicks out. Grayson comes back and takes Sky down, and then tags in Cabana. Sky grabs Cabana’s injured ribs, and Cabana gets to the ropes and calls for a break. Sky kicks Cabana in the face, but Grayson kicks Sky in the back. All six men get in the ring now, and then Kazarian takes out Reynolds and Silver on the stage. Lee drops Sky with a release suplex. Cabana goes for the cover, but Sky kicks out as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Cabana and Lee double-team Sky. Grayson gets in the ring and goes for the cover, but Sky kicks out. Cabana tags in, but Sky sends Grayson to the floor. Sky drops Cabana with a neck-breaker. Kazarian and Lee tag in, and Kazarian delivers a DDT. Kazarian goes for the cover, but Lee kicks out. Daniels delivers a dropkick to Lee and Kazarian goes for the cover again, but Lee kicks out again. Lee drops Daniels with a kick to the face and delivers an elbow to Sky. Daniels and Grayson are the legal men, and Daniels slams Grayson to the mat. Daniels hits the Best Moonsault Ever and goes for the cover, but Cabana makes the save. Lee drops Daniels with a lariat and Grayson tags in Cabana. Cabana gets the pin fall.
Winners: Dark Order

Next week, AEW will host Fight for the Fallen, and money will be raised for COVID-19 relief. Announced for Fight for the Fallen are an AEW TNT Championship Match with Cody hosting another open challenge, FTR vs. Lucha Brothers, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express, and Jon Moxley defending the AEW World Championship against Brian Cage.

Big Swole gets into the arena and punches Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. in the face. Baker goes crazy as the show heads to a commercial.

Orange Cassidy vs. Chris Jericho (w/Santana and Ortiz)
Cassidy puts his hand in his pockets and delivers a headbutt to Jericho. Cassidy runs the ropes and delivers a dropkick to Jericho. Cassidy takes out Jericho with a dive on the floor. Cassidy slams Jericho into the barricade, and then tosses Jericho back into the ring. Cassidy delivers a cross-body and goes for the cover, but Jericho rolls through and locks in the Liontamer. Cassidy makes it to the ropes, but Ortiz hits him with the matte ball behind the referee’s back. Jericho goes for the cover, but Cassidy kicks out. Jericho takes Cassidy down with a back-drop, and then connects with shots to his back. Jericho delivers a back-breaker, and then chops Cassidy a few times in the corner. Jericho slams Cassidy into the corners with Irish whips, but Cassidy comes back with a roll-up for two. Cassidy gets a few more pinning combinations for two counts and goes for the Superman shot, but Jericho dodges it. Jericho takes Cassidy out with a dropkick that sends Cassidy into the barricade as the show heads to a commercial.
Back from the break, Jericho is in control in the ring. Cassidy fights back, but Jericho applies an abdominal stretch. Jericho uses the ropes for leverage, but Cassidy counters with a hip-toss. Jericho and Cassidy exchange shots, but Jericho sends Cassidy into the barricade on the outside. Jericho goes after Cassidy and slams him into the barricade again. Jericho delivers a chop and tosses Cassidy back into the ring. Jericho stands on Cassidy and goes for the cover, but Cassidy kicks out. Cassidy fights back and delivers palm strikes and elbow strikes. Cassidy kicks Jericho in the face and drops Jericho with a hurricanrana. Cassidy delivers his devastating shin kicks and then drops him with a big shot. Cassidy goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out. Cassidy goes up top, but Jericho cuts him off. Jericho goes for a superplex, but Cassidy slams him to the mat. Cassidy connects with a splash and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out. Cassidy sends Jericho to the floor and then takes him out with a dive, along with Santana and Ortiz.
Cassidy gets Jericho back into the ring and drops him with a diving DDT. Cassidy goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out. Jericho comes back and locks in the Liontamer, but Cassidy rolls through and gets a two count. Cassidy drops Jericho with a right hand, but Ortiz throws orange juice in his fact. Chuck Taylor and Trent run out and brawl with Santana and Ortiz. Jericho hits Cassidy with the baseball bat and delivers the Codebreaker. Jericho goes for the cover, but Cassidy kicks out. Jericho delivers more shots, but Cassidy fights back. Jericho delivers an elbow shot and goes for the Lionsault, but Cassidy dodges it. Cassidy delivers a Michinoku Driver and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out. Cassidy delivers forearm shots and drops him with a clothesline. Jericho comes back with a knee strike, but Cassidy hits a Stunner. Cassidy drops Jericho with a DDT and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out. Cassidy comes off the ropes, but Jericho hits the Judas Effect and gets the pin fall.
