– Prichard debuted in various southern territories in 1979. He would occasionally work as Tom Price during this phase of his career
– On March 31, 1980, Prichard & Apollo Jalisco defeated Jack & Ray Evans to win the NWA Americas Tag Team Titles. They would lose, regain and lose the titles in April
– On May 16, Prichard & Al Madril defeated Jack Evans & Pampero Firpo to win the NWA Americas Tag Team Titles
– On July 18, Prichard & Madril defeated Ron Starr & The Assassin by DQ to retain the NWA Americas Tag Team Titles
– On September 5, Prichard & Madril defeated Ox Baker & The Enforcer to retain the NWA Americas Tag Team Titles
