Biography

– Brookside began his career (as did many British wrestlers of the time) in All Star Promotions. He took his ringname from the then-popular soap opera Brookside
– By the mid-1980s, Brookside was competing alongside Johnny Kidd and Wayne Martin as The Young Ones, a play on the British comedy of the same name
– In the late 1980s, Brookside began teaming with Steve Regal as The Golden Boys
– On January 23, 1991, The Liverpool Lads (Brookside & Doc Dean) defeated The Superflys (Jimmy Ocean & Ricky Knight) to win the British Open Tag Team Titles
– On September 19, 1992, The Liverpool Lads defeated Task Force One (Steve Prince & Vic Powers) to retain the British Open Tag Team Titles
– In late 1992, Brookside began competing for Germany’s GWF promotion
– In September 1996, Brookside unsuccessfully challenged Steven Regal for the WCW Television Title at an ASW show
