Biography

– In her youth, Sakai was an accomplished judoka. She paused her judo career to work as a social worker in Kanazawa
– In 1997, Sakai was recruited into wrestling by her friend and fellow judoka, Megumi Yabushita, and began training under Jaguar Yokota
– Sakai debuted in April 1997 for Yokota’s JD Star promotion
– On August 24, 1998, Sakai defeated The Bloody to win the JD’ Junior Title
– On January 27, 2002, Sakai & Fang Suzuki defeated Sachie Abe & KAZUKI in a Cage Match. As a result, Sakai won the vacant AWF Womens Title
– On February 17, Sakai defeated Hiroyo Muto to retain the AWF Womens Title, before Sakai & Megumi Yabushita defeated Sachie Abe & KAZUKI to win the TWF Womens Tag Team Titles
– On February 24, Sakai defeated Ranmaru to retain the AWF Womens Title
– On March 22, Sakai & Megumi Yabushita defeated Hiroyo Muto & Ranmaru to retain the TWF Womens Tag Team Titles
– On May 21, Sakai defeated Mercedes Martinez to win the NECW Womens Title
– On June 9, Sakai fought Martinez to a time-limit draw to retain the NECW Womens Title
