Injury Update on Xavier Woods, Tendon Injury Rumored to be a Tear
As previously reported, WWE Superstar Xavier Woods reportedly suffered an achilles tendon injury while working a WWE live event this week in Sydney, Australia. WWE later confirmed Woods would be unable to complete the rest of WWE’s tour of Australia. According to a report by F4WOnline.com, the word going around backstage in WWE is that Woods’ injury is “bad.”
While WWE’s statement on the injury did not report a tear for Woods, F4WOnline notes that the word being spread around backstage is that Woods’ tendon injury is a tear. Also, this type of injury reportedly tends to have a long rehab period after surgery. Meltzer added on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury could take up to nine months, if not longer, to heal.
Based on reports and footage of the match where Woods suffered the injury at the event, Xavier Woods appeared to suffer the injury after being thrown into the ropes, after which he fell down and immediately started to favor his leg or his knee.
