Batista Advises Chuck Taylor to Delete ‘Disrespectful’ Tweet Regarding Ribera Steakhouse
Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista (aka Batista) was not happy when AEW talent Chuck Taylor wrote a tweet regarding the legendary pro wrestling hangout, Ribera Steakhouse. Earlier this week, Batista responded to a tweet where Taylor wrote that Ribera Steakhouse can “suck one” after he went to the restaurant with NJPW star and IWGP heavyweight champion Kazuchika Okada and didn’t receive one of its famous jackets.
In a now-deleted tweet, Taylor wrote, “I went to Ribera with goddamn Okada and they didn’t give me one of those coats that place ca suck one.” Batista later responded to Taylor’s tweet with the following advice for Taylor: “My friend I offer this advice in complete sincerity. Delete this tweet immediately. Our history and tradition with that place is something that’s beyond your years. I’m asking you not to disrespect that over a jacket you didn’t receive.”
It looks like Taylor eventually thought better of his initial tweet and listened to Batista’s advice because the tweet regarding Ribera Steakhouse has now been deleted.
Ribera Steakhouse is located in Tokyo, Japan. It’s a famous hangout place for wrestlers, boxers and MMA fighters. The restaurant is filled with memorabilia and photos of famous pro wrestlers eating there going back for decades. The jackets Batista and Taylor are referring to is how wrestlers will sometimes be gifted with satin Ribera Steakhouse jackets when visiting the restaurant. Wrestlers going to the famous steakhouse is seen as a rite of passage in the wrestling community.
Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins actually visited Ribera Steakhouse during the WWE tour in Japan last month. They documented the trip on their Major WF Pod channel, which you can see below and get a better understanding of what Batista and Taylor are speaking about. Ryder and Hawkins did receive the Ribera jackets during their trip.
