Jay White Discusses G1 Climax, Dismisses Rollins-Ospreay Feud as “Child’s Play”
Alfred Boima Konuwa III passed along the following via Forbes….
Juice Robinson on new hairdo:
“It’s just something I felt like I wanted to do,” Robinson said about his recent hairdo.
“It was absolutely my call, nobody told me to do it. I’m still going to rock the wild, Randy Savage sunglasses and colorful ring gear but I felt like it was time to part ways with the old dreadlocks so that’s what I did.”
Jay White on ‘Greedy’ and ‘Entitled’ American Fans:
“American fans are so greedy,” said White through a snide cackle.
“I love beating all their favorites because these fans are so entitled, and they go out of their way to try to make every show about them, and they make up chants just to make themselves the center of attention. I’ve made a name for myself all over the world, including the states, so I’m not worried about [building an American fanbase], I just want to beat all their favorites and take the G1.”
Jay White on Rollins-Ospreay Feud:
“It’s child’s play,” said White of the Twitter spat.
“It was ridiculous. Typical of Will Ospreay and [Seth Rollins] and every other wrestler today to run around on social media, and have some pillow fight on Twitter, and become too sensitive and care too much about other people’s opinions. Ridiculous.”
Kevin Kelly on Rollins-Ospreay Feud:
“I just think they are as identical of people as I’ve ever known,” said Kelly.
“I’ve called both of their matches. I know both of them personally. I like both of them. There are so many similarities between the two. When I was calling his matches in Ring of Honor, Seth Rollins was very much a company guy. And was very proud to be Ring of Honor’s world champion. And knew what that title represented. And would fight anybody who spoke ill of the company or his place in it.”
“And I think that when he hears enough about something and decides he wants to speak out on it, he’s going to speak out on it. And for Ospreay to stand up for himself the way he did, and to be as outspoken as he was, you could really see a lot of similarities between the two. I can’t say enough good things about Seth Rollins and Will Ospreay, they’re two remarkable athletes, great people and I just know if they get together and they had a cold beer and talked about it they would realize ‘we have a lot in common.'”
The piece also includes comments about Juice Robinson’s influence and who Kevin Kelly thinks will pull the biggest upset of the tournament.
