Scott Dawson blames WWE for tag team wrestling becoming a lost art
During an interview with FOX Sports Australia, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder did not hold back on how tag team wrestling has become a lost art.
“It’s not a ‘bit’ of a lost art. It’s become Atlantis,” Wilder said.
Dawson added, “This is going to sound terrible, but I kind of blame our company for that.”
He continued, “Because the individual stars made so much money, so people had that goal in mind to be an individual star here. And for us we knew that to make the most money, we needed to be a tag team, we needed to be a unit. Collectively we’re individuals but mentally we’re one.”
Dawson also noted that tag team wrestling got lost after the Attitude Era.
Last year, Dawson and Wilder were in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal so at least they are in a real match this year.
Following reports that they requested their release in January, it will be interesting to see where they end up in a year when their WWE contracts expire.
