Bayley Credits Tyler Breeze for Teaching Her Psychology
Bayley spoke with Catch Club for a new interview discussing her team with Sasha Banks and who she learned ring psychology from. Audio is below, as well as highlights:
On her in-character relationship with Sasha Banks: “Well, we’re obviously on the same page, because we’re tag team champions, so yeah, we’re good. [laughs] Last year we went through so much, and nobody would even understand what we went through together. But I really think and believe that all we went through is the reason we are tag team champions today, because we literally put each other through hell and back. It really just made us stronger. So, right now we have a great relationship and we were already around each other 24/7, so nothing changed there. You know, I try to give her space, she tries to give me space. But, you know, we travel in the same car together, we stay at the same hotel together. When we’re not on the road we text each other all the time, so…it’s not annoying yet! You know, I’m not a bother to her yet. But we’re great right now.”
On who she’s learned from as a singles wrestler: “Tyler Breeze. He was, man, yeah. Gosh, he is so amazing and so many people wouldn’t even know. But back in NXT, and still to this day actually, he taught me so much about psychology when I was in NXT. My matches with Eva Marie, he helped me so much. My match with Asuka, he was there for me. And just recently when I wrestled Ronda [Rousey], the person I went to was Tyler Breeze. He just has an incredible mind and he thinks different than everybody else, but he knows what works and what engages the fans. He understands me, and he understands my character and he understands the kind of wrestler that I am. He just has so much great input that he’s somebody that I always go to and always appreciate. He won’t even know how much I appreciate him. Sometimes I hear his voice in my head when I’m in the ring like, ‘No! Don’t do this or do that or you want to do it like this!’ I’m very grateful for Tyler Breeze.”
