Source: AEW wants to bring In Joshi wrestlers from Japan

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week, AEW Wrestling has been eyeing bringing in some Joshi wrestlers from Japan. One name mentioned was Mayu Iwatani (pictured above) but that seems unlikely due to STARDOM’s relationship with Ring Of Honor.

Another name mentioned that AEW Wrestling had talked about bringing in is the legendary Aja Kong, a 30 year veteran of the ring.

Aja Kong has worked recently for SHIMMER, joining forces with Mercedes Martinez and recently worked for Pro Wrestling EVE where she faced Viper in a international dream match.

While no deal is currently in place, AEW is heavily scouting Japanese women wrestlers.
