10/24/17 WWE 205 Live Recap: Alexander/Swann vs. Dar/Nese, Gulak vs. Metalik; Amore vs. Kalisto for the Title

205 Live opens with a recap of Enzo Amore winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship for the second time after he defeated Kalisto at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. We then see the 205 Live opening video and go into the arena where Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show. We see that Amore will defend the title against Kalisto in tonight’s main event.

Match #1: Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander vs. Noam Dar and Tony Nese
Alexander and Nese start with a lockup and then Nese shoves Alexander away and poses down on the mat. Nese kicks Alexander in the midsection and then applies a wrist-lock. Alexander gets free and trips Nese down to the mat. Alexander takes Nese down again with a head-scissors take down and then a dropkick. Alexander delivers a chop and Swann tags in. They double-team Nese and Swann goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two. Swann kicks Nese in the back and then applies a rear chin-lock down on the mat. Nese gets to his feet and backs into the corner and Dar tags in. Dar applies a wrist-lock to Swann and takes him down to the mat. Swann fights back and takes Dar down with a dropkick, but Nese tags in. Nese drops Swann with a shoulder block and then rams him into the barricade. Nese tosses Swann back into the ring and drives a knee into him in the corner and tags in Dar.
Dar comes in and drops Swann to the mat and then slams him into the ropes with a snapmare. Dar tags in Nese, who slams Swann into the corner. Nese hangs Swann in the tree of woe and drives a knee into Swann’s midsection. Nese kicks Swann in the face and midsection a few times and tags Dar back into the match. Dar also kicks Swann in the face and midsection and argues with Nese a bit and Swann almost gets a three count on a roll-up. Dar takes control again and tags in Nese. Nese beats Swann down in the corner and then delivers a forearm to the jaw. Swann comes back with a heel kick and goes for the cover, but Dar breaks it up. Dar tags in and tosses Swann back into the ring. Swann counters with a kick to the face and tags in Alexander. Alexander goes to work on Dar with stiff kicks and then delivers a back elbow. Alexander delivers the springboard kick and goes for the cover, but Dar kicks out at two.
Alexander sends Nese to the floor and we see Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick watching the match from the ramp. Dar grabs Alexander and locks in a front face lock and Nese pulls Swann down to the floor. Swann takes Nese out with an enzuiguri and then kicks Dar in the face. Swann then takes out Nese with a suicide dive and Alexander drops Dar with the Lumbar Check and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann.
After the match, Gallagher says they are not here for a fight, but to extend the olive branch of peace. Kendrick says they are proud of Alexander for showing them what they were looking for: cruelty. Kendrick says he and Gallagher believe he has a world of potential, but he will never reach his potential as long as he is carrying Swann around. Gallagher says he was in the same position as Alexander a few months ago and then says the people and Swann don’t matter. Gallagher says they don’t have what he, Alexander, and Kendrick has. Gallagher says Alexander’s cruelty will extend him higher than he ever imagined. Gallagher says they are coming for Swann next week. Kendrick tells Alexander to think about it over the week and to come to a decision and if he doesn’t, they will make it for it.

We see Drew Gulak walking backstage. He will be in action after the break.

Back from the break, Drew Gulak makes his way to the ring. He says since his PowerPoint presentation was unjustly removed from the TLC Kickoff Show on Sunday, he is going to start all over at slide number one tonight. Before he can get started, he is interrupted by Gran Metalik.
Match #2: Drew Gulak vs. Gran Metalik
Gulak grounds Metalik, but Metalik comes back with a head scissors hold down on the mat. Gulak gets free, but Metalik takes him back down with a hammer-lock. Gulak gets free again and applies a headlock. Metalik sends Gulak off the ropes and then takes him down with an enzuiguri. Metalik kicks Gulak in the face and then takes him down with a dropkick. Metalik goes up top and takes Gulak down with a springboard moonsault.
Metalik goes back up top, but Gulak cuts him off. Gulak stomps down onto Metalik and then applies a chin-bar submission down on the mat. Gulak goes for a cover, but Metalik kicks out at two. Metalik comes back and takes Gulak down with a snapmare. Metalik delivers an elbow and then a kick to the face. Metalik takes Gulak down with a bulldog and then delivers another dropkick. Metalik goes back up top and delivers a splash. Metalik goes for the cover, but Gulak kicks out at two. Metalik goes for a suplex, but Gulak blocks it. Gulak clubs Metalik in the back, but Metalik comes back with a roll-up for a two count.
Metalik gets Gulak on the top rope and delivers a chop and then a super hurricanrana. Metalik goes for the cover, but Gulak kicks out at two. Gulak comes back and locks in the Dragon Sleeper and Metalik taps out.
Winner: Drew Gulak.
After the match, Gulak goes to attack Metalik again, but Akira Tozawa’s music hits and he makes his return. Tozawa rushes the ring and sends Gulak to the outside with a kick and the checks on Metalik.

Dasha Fuentes interviews Kalisto backstage. He says he beat Enzo Amore once, and he will beat him again to take back the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. The main event is up next.

Match #3: WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match – Enzo Amore (c) (w/Ariya Daivari) vs. Kalisto
Kalisto quickly sends Amore to the outside and beats him down. He tosses Amore back into the ring, but Amore pulls himself to the apron. Kalisto stomps on Amore’s hand and then he beats him down in the corner. Amore comes back and dumps Kalisto to the floor, but Kalisto kicks Amore in the face. Amore sends Kalisto down to the mat with a kick to the chest and then puts him on the apron. Amore pulls Kalisto up top and goes for a suplex to the floor, but Kalisto gets free for a bit. Amore comes back and rips Kalisto down and Kalisto hits the turnbuckles. Amore goes for the Gen-Enzo, but Kalisto counters with the windmill driver on the apron and both men are down on the floor.
Amore tries to crawl up the ramp, but Kalisto grabs him and slams him into the apron. Kalisto kicks Amore in the ribs and tosses him back into the ring. Kalisto charges at Amore, but Amore slams him into the turnbuckles. Amore goes for the DD-G out of the corner, but Kalisto counters with the Kalisto Kick. Kalisto delivers a tilt-a-whirl DDT and goe sup top, but Amore kicks the referee into the ropes and Kalisto falls as the referee calls for the bell.
Winner via disqualification: Kalisto; still WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Enzo Amore.
After the match, Kalisto attacks Amore on the stage as referees try to hold him back. Amore crawls up the ramp and goes backstage as Kalisto goes crazy in the ring.
