WWE Mae Young Classic Tournament Coverage – Episode 3
Episode 3 open with a recap of the eight winners in the first round thus far, and then gives a quick run down of the eight women who will be in action on this episode. We head into the arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, and WWE Hall of Famers Jim Ross and Lita welcome us to the show. We take a look at the first two competitors, Toni Storm and Ayesha Raymond.
Match #1: Tournament First Round Match – Ayesha Raymond vs. Toni Storm
Raymond shoves Storm away, but Storm goes behind with a waist-lock. Raymond turns it into a head-lock and takes Storm to the mat. Storm gets free and offers a handshake. Raymond goes to accept, but Storm pulls her hand back. Raymond kicks Storm in the midsection and applies a wrist-lock. Raymond takes Storm to the mat, but Storm gets back up and turns it into a wrist-lock of her own. Raymond shoves her away and runs the ropes, but Storm counters with a boot to the face. Storm flips Raymond down to the mat and delivers a trifecta of hip attacks. Raymond goes for the corner and Storm charges, but Raymond catches her with a boot. Raymond delivers a side slam and then a power slam. Raymond goes for the cover, but Storm kicks out at two.
Raymond grabs Storm and sends her into the corner. Raymond splashes Storm in the corner and then chokes her over the middle rope. Raymond picks Storm up, but Storm counters with a headbutt. Raymond charges at Storm in the corner, but Storm counters and delivers a modified back-stabber out of the corner. Storm delivers a running knee and then a Northern Lights suplex. Storm kicks up and goes up top. but Raymond cuts her off and slams her to the mat. Raymond gets on the top and goes for a splash, but Storm moves and then gets a roll up for the pin fall.
Winner: Toni Storm.
We take a look at the next two competitors, Kavita Devi and Dakota Kai.
Match #2: Tournament First Round Match – Dakota Kai vs. Kavita Devi
Devi shoves Kai into the corner quickly a few times and then takes her down with an arm drag. Devi applies a wrist-lock and takes Kai down with another arm drag. Devi keeps the wrist-lock applied and then drops Kai with yet another arm drag. Kai comes back with some kicks, but Devi delivers a back elbow. Devi sends Kai off the ropes, but Kai meets her with a kick to the face. Devi comes back and takes Kai down again and then knocks her out of the air on a dropkick attempt. Devi picks up Kai and military press slams her down to the mat. Devi splashes Kai in the corner and tosses her across the ring. Devi tosses Kai back across the ring and charges, but Kai rolls out of the way and delivers the running boot in the corner. Kai goes up top and delivers the top rope double stomp and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Dakota Kai.
We take a look at the next two competitors, Bianca Belair and Sage Beckett.
Match #3: Tournament First Round Match – Bianca Belair vs. Sage Beckett
Belair shoves Beckett away and then comes off the ropes, but Beckett drops her with a shoulder tackle. Beckett delivers a slam and then drops an elbow. Beckett goes for the cover, but Belair kicks out at two. Beckett sends Belair to the corner and charges, but Belair moves and takes Beckett down with a dropkick. Belair takes Beckett to the corner and stomps her down to the mat. Belair delivers a knee and then a series of right hands in the corner. Belair delivers a clothesline and goes for the cover, but Beckett kicks out at two. Belair slams Beckett’s face into the mat and then jumps down onto her back. Belair delivers a standing frog splah and goes for the cover, but Beckett kicks out at two.
Belair applies a hammer lock, but Beckett turns it into one of her own and then slams Belair to the mat. Beckett goes for the cover, but Belair kicks out at two. Beckett delivers a series of rights and then splashes her in the corner. Beckett takes Belair down with a kick and goes for the cover, but Belair kicks out again. Beckett delivers a running knee lieft and then hangs her in the tree of woe in the corner. Beckett delivers a hip attack and then goes to the ropes. She goes for a splash, but Belair moves and whips Beckett with her hair. Belair takes Beckett down with a spear and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Bianca Belair.
We take a look at the next two competitors, Santana Garrett and Piper Niven.
Match #4: Tournament First Round Match – Piper Niven vs. Santana Garrett
They lock up and Niven backs Garrett into the corner. Garrett comes back with a headlock, but Niven turns it into a wrist-lock. Niven drops Garrett to the mat and goes for the cover, but Garrett kicks out at two. Niven takes Garrett to the ropes, but Garrett turns it into a wrist-lock of her own. Garrett turns it into an upper-body abdominal stretch, but Niven powers out. Garrett gets away and dodges a sit down splash and kicks Niven in the face. Garrett goes for the cover, but Niven kicks out at two. Garrett takes Niven down with a head-scissors take down. Garrett runs the ropes, but Niven takes her down with a cross-body. Niven applies a side head-lock and then knocks her down with a short-arm clotheslines. Niven goes for the cover, but Garrett kicks out at two.
Niven applies a rear choke and then delivers a clothesline. Niven goes for the cover, but Garrett kicks out again. Niven sends Garrett to the apron and charges, but Garrett counters with a knee. Garrett takes Niven down and goes for the cover, but Niven kicks out at two. Garrett takes Niven to the corner and goes for the bulldog, but Niven counters and comes off the ropes with a low splash. Niven goes for the cover, but Garrett kicks out at two. Niven goes to the corner, but Garrett catches her with a left hand and then delivers a head-scissors take down. Garrett goes for the cover, but Niven kicks out at two. Garrett delivers a superkick and springboards off the ropes, but Niven moves and delivers an elbow shot. Niven grabs Garrett and delivers a Michinoku Driver and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Piper Niven.
