WrestleMania 33 Championship Match Moved from Preshow to Main Show

Mar 30, 2017 - by Michael Riba

Earlier this week, it was reported, and confirmed, by WWE that the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship Match featuring Alexa Bliss defending the title against Becky Lynch, Carmella, Mickie James, Naomi, and Natalya in a Six-Pack Challenge would take place on the WrestleMania 33 Kickoff Show.

In an update, WWE.com no longer lists the match as a Kickoff Match. We noted that there was a huge amount of negative fan feedback to the Smackdown Women’s Division being relegated to the Kickoff Show for the second dual-brand event in a row. If you remember, they were featured on the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show back in January. Even more fans brought up the fact that the Smackdown women also lost to the Raw women back in November at Survivor Series.

It seems as though WWE has listened to the concerns and moved the Smackdown women to the main show for this Sunday. Whether this means another match will be moved to the Kickoff Show remains to be seen, but as of this writing, only the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match between Neville and Austin Aries and the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal are scheduled for the Kickoff Show.

One competitor in the match, Becky Lynch, has taken to Twitter to offer her words on the change:
