1985 – Dusty Rhodes defeats Tully Blanchard, to win the NWA Television Championship.
1992 – Kamala wins the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship for the 4th time, defeating Koko B Ware. Also, Jimmy Valiant defeats Dr. Death (Kenny Kendall), to win the USWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.
1997 – WCW Uncensored is held in Charleston, SC in front of 9,285 fans. In a No Disqualification Match, Dean Malenko defeats Eddie Guerrero, to win the United States Championship. Buff Bagwell defeats Scotty Riggs in a Strap Match. Prince Iaukea defeats Rey Mysterio, Jr. to retain the Television Championship. The main event is a 4-on-4-on-3 Handicap Elimination Match. The nWo (Hollywood Hogan, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash, & Scott Hall) defeat Team Piper (Roddy Piper, Steve McMichael, Jeff Jarrett, & Chris Benoit) and Team WCW (Lex Luger, The Giant, & Scott Steiner).
2007 – Mick Foley’s third memoir, The Hardcore Diaries, debuts at #12 on the non-fiction side, of the Wall Street Journal Best Seller List. It came in at #46 on the USA Today Best Seller Listing (which covers all books).
2008 – Ring of Honor tapes its Take No Prisoners pay-per-view in Philadelphia, to be aired on May 30th. The No Remorse Corps (Davey Richards & Rocky Romero) defeat The Vulture Squad (Ruckus & Jigsaw), to retain the Tag Team Championship. Tyler Black wins a Four Corner Survival Match, defeating Go Shiozaki, Claudio Castagnoli, and Delirious. Bryan Danielson defeats Austin Aries in a singles match. In the main event, Nigel McGuinness defeats Tyler Black, to retain the ROH World Championship.
2015 – It’s announced on Monday Night RAW, that Larry Zbyszko would be into the WWE Hall of Fame. Zbyszko will be inducted by former mentor and rival, Bruno Sammartino.
2016 – On this evening’s Lucha Underground, Fenix defeats Mil Muertes, to win the Lucha Underground Championship. Also, Angelico, Ivelisse, & Son of Havoc win the Trios Championship, defeating The Disciples of Death (Barrio Negro, El Sinestro de la Muerte, & Trece).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: 2-time WWF Tag Team Champion Henry Godwinn (53 years old); former WCW United States Tag Team Champion Steve Armstrong (52 years old); former World Tag Team Champion & Spirit Squad member Ken Doane aka Kenny Dykstra (31 years old); and former FCW/WWE wrestler Brett DiBiase (29 years old).
