Another report from WWE’s house show at MSG

WWE at MSG Live Report Sunday March 12, 2017 3PM
Attended my first WWE show in probably 4 or 5 years.
Shane McMahon opens the shows, warmly reminisces about being a kid and running around Madison Square Garden; he actually states that AJ Styles is the best in-ring performer in the WWE. This leads to a brief face to face debate between Shane & AJ. wherein Shane calls for AJ to wrestle Randy Orton in the opening match in an unscheduled bout.
Results:
Randy Orton pins AJ Styles. Pleasant surprise and a solid match although you’d expect better from guys of this caliber. 3*
Rhyno, Heath Slater & Kalisto W Breezango & Curt Hawkins. Everybody did their spots, match abruptly ended after about 5 minutes. Pleasant enough but nothing memorable. 2 1/2*
Dolph Ziggler W Apollo Crews. Crowd absolutely dead. Match had zero heat. 2*
Dean Ambrose W Baron Corbin, The Miz, & Luke Harper Triple Threat Match. Bunch of trademark spots and bad comedy. Disappointing. 2 ½*
Brock Lesnar pins Kevin Owens in about 2 minutes. I wouldn’t even call this a match. Owens jumps him, Brock does a few suplexes and pins him. Rip-off. 2*
Asuka, Tamina, Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella W Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Natalya & Carmella w James Ellsworth. I’m not a big fan of just throwing a bunch of folk together for the hell of it, and the entrances were longer than the match itself, but not bad for what it was. Asuka is off the charts charismatic/great. 2 ¾*
American Alphas W USO’s Tag Title. Crowd deader than dead. Workmanlike and instantly forgettable 2 1/4*
Bray Wyatt PIN John Cena WWE Championship Match. Great brawl, tons of near pins, and Wyatt is the REAL DEAL- charismatic, can wrestle, great gimmick, totally over with crowd and tremendous brawler. 3 ¾* This match really all I’ll remember of this card years from now.
