Happy birthday, Debra!!

1990 – Doug Furnas & Dan Kroffat defeat Samson Fuyuki & Toshiaki Kawada, to win the AJPW All Asia Tag Team Championship.

1992 – In the United States Wrestling Association, Miss Texas defeats Dirty White Girl, in a tournament final, to become the inaugural USWA Women’s Champion.  Miss Texas would become a 14-time Women’s Champion in the USWA.

1994 – Atlantis defeats Dr. Wagner Jr., to win the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship.

1998 – In the Monday Night Wars, WCW Monday Nitro (4.8 TV rating) beats WWF RAW IS WAR (3.9 rating).

2002 – In the East Coast Wrestling Association, Donovan Morgan defeats AJ Styles, to win the ECWA Super 8 Tournament.

2003 – Xóchitl Leyva Sánchez (aka “Tiffany”) defeats Lady Apache, to win the AAA Mexican National Women’s Championship.

2008 – At Day 8 of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Second Navigation, Takeshi Morishima defeats Mitsuharu Misawa, to win the GHC Heavyweight Championship.

2012 – Doug Furnas, a five-time AJPW All Asia Tag Team Champion, dies at the age of 52.  Furnas had died in his sleep;  the cause of death was ruled as hypertensive heart disease.

2013 – In Ohio Valley Wrestling, The Gutcheckers (Alex Silva & Sam Shaw) defeat The Coalition (Jason Wayne & Crimson), to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.

2013 – Ring of Honor’s 11th Anniversary Show is held in Chicago in front of 700 fans.  Matt Taven wins the ROH World Television Championship, after defeating Adam Cole.  reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) win the ROH World Tag Team Championship, after defeating Jay & Mark Briscoe.  In the main event, Kevin Steen defeats Jay Lethal, to retain the ROH World Championship.

2014 – WRESTLE-1 Kaisen: Outbreak is held in Tokyo, Japan in front of 5,800 fans.  The event was a collaboration between the WRESTLE-1 promotion in Japan and TNA Wrestling from the United States.  No WRESTLE-1 titles were on the line, however three TNA title matches were part of the 12-match card.  The BroMans (Jesse Godderz & Robbie E) become the new TNA World Tag Team Champions after winning a 3-Way Match (with The Wolves & Kaz Hayashi / Shuji Kondo).  Seiya Sanada becomes the new TNA X Division Champion after defeating Austin Aries.  In the main event, Magnus defeats KAI, to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

2015 – It’s announced on Monday Night RAW that Alundra Blayze, aka Madusa, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

2016 – On this evening’s Lucha Underground, Fenix defeats King Cuerno, to win the Gift of the Gods Championship. (Ladder Match).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: former WWF manager & Women’s Champion Debra (57 years old);  former British Welterweight Champion Tex Benedict (35 years old);  former EWF Tag Team & Heavyweight Champion Black Metal (36 years old);  and guest host of the 10/5/2009 WWE RAW, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (35 years old).

Today would’ve been the 36th birthday for 3-time World Tag Team Champion in WWE, Lance Cade.  Today would’ve been the 53rd birthday for 2009 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee Mike Von Erich.
