Bray Wyatt on The Creation of Sister Abigail and Its Meaning
In an interview with WWE Legend Stone Cold Steve Austin, current WWE Champion Bray Wyatt was asked how he came up with his “Sister Abigail” finishing maneuver.
“Sister Abigail to Bray Wyatt is basically his ‘God’. Bray Wyatt was raised almost orphan-like, I wouldn’t say anti-Christ, but almost raised to be this ‘God’. Abigail is inserted into Bray Wyatt as this ‘finisher’, so to speak.
I explained it as ‘Her touch could save the world, and her kiss could burn it to the ground’, so in itself it’s not just a finishing maneuver, it’s a place in time, a transgression if you will.
As for the maneuver, I have no idea where I got that from. Probably in tape somewhere, but the driving force behind it is the Abigail character. It’s the driving force behind much of the success of Bray Wyatt.”
Wyatt also mentioned how Joey Mercury was instrumental in helping him come up with the ideas like the ballroom dancing and the kiss he would do before executing his maneuver.
