WWE TLC Report – 12/4/16
– We’re live from Dallas as the 2016 WWE TLC Kickoff pre-show opens with Renee Young, Booker T, Daniel Bryan and Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg. We see tables, ladders and chairs all over the arena. They welcome Rosenberg and hype tonight’s pay-per-view. Bryan says he’s excited to see who will step up. Renee sends us backstage to Tom Phillips in the Social Media Lounge. He will be joined by Alexa Bliss later tonight. Fans can submit questions with the hashtag #AskAlexa. Renee reveals a 10-man tag team match for tonight with American Alpha, Apollo Crews and The Hype Bros vs. The Ascension, The Vaudevillains and Curt Hawkins.
We get more discussion from the panel on tonight’s show. Bryan leaves after they discuss tonight’s Intercontinental Title match. Bryan and Peter believe Ziggler will take the title. We get discussion on tonight’s Chairs Match next and then the SmackDown Women’s Title match. Natalya joins the panel and talks about being in the Tables Match years ago. She says whoever wins tonight’s match will be on a different plane and it will change both of their careers. Natalya and Booker believe we will see a new champion tonight. We go back to Alexa in the Social Media Lounge with Tom Phillips. Bliss knocks Renee’s outfit. She’s asked her inspiration. She says Trish Stratus, watching her growing up was inspiring. Rey Mysterio was another idol she had growing up. Bliss goes on and talks about why she deserves being champion over Becky Lynch. Bliss ends up walking out and we go back to the panel.
Apollo Crews, The Hype Bros and American Alpha vs. Curt Hawkins, The Vaudevillains and The Ascension
We go to the ring and Mauro Ranallo is on commentary with JBL and David Otunga. Chad Gable and Jason Jordan are out first for their team as Greg Hamilton makes the introduction. Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley are out next, followed by Apollo Crews.
Simon Gotch and Aiden English are out first for their team, followed by Konnor and Viktor. Curt Hawkins is out next as the heels head to the ring. A pre-recorded intro from Hawkins plays and he refers to the city as Houston. Hawkins and Crews start off going at it. Hawkins takes Crews down first and shows off. Crews takes advantage and turns it around. Crews with a dropkick for a 2 count.
Ryder tags in but Hawkins wants none of him. Viktor tags in and takes control of Ryder. Viktor runs into knees in the corner but keeps control after a back elbow. Ryder counters with a neckbreaker and a 2 count. Mojo tags in for some double teaming in the corner. Mojo slams his opponent and does the Hammer Time move. Mojo takes out Konnor’s knee now. English comes in but Mojo turns it around and tags in Jordan. Jordan with a takedown and a tag to Gable for some double teaming. They also clear the apron, then hit a double dropkick on Gotch. Aiden gets sent to the floor. Gotch charges but he also gets thrown out. Both teams take turns tossing each other to the floor. Crews is the last one, tossing Hawkins. He stands tall until both teams come back in and face off. They start brawling. The babyfaces clear the ring and stand tall as we go to commercial.
Back from the break and Hawkins is in control of Gable. More tags between the heels as they keep Gable down. Fans rally for Gable now. Gable finally gets the tag and Jordan comes in to unload. Gotch breaks up a 2 count. The Hype Bros take out The Vaudevillains. The Ascension takes out Mojo. Alpha takes out The Ascension with leaping clotheslines from the top. Hawkins nails Crews but Crews suplexes him from the apron onto other guys on the floor. Alpha hits their finisher on Gotch for the pin.
Winners: American Alpha, The Hype Bros and Apollo Crews
– We go back to the pre-show for talk on tonight’s main event. Booker and Peter go with AJ Styles retaining over Dean Ambrose. Renee sends us to a video package and that’s it for the pre-show.

SmackDown Tag Team Title Match: Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt vs. Rhyno and Heath Slater
We go right to the ring and out comes Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Randy Orton. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater and Rhyno are out next as we get a look at some of the international announce teams.
Wyatt and Rhyno go at it to start. Wyatt turns it back around early on and tags in Orton for a quick double team. Orton unloads on Rhyno but misses a clothesline. Rhyno with a shoulder tackle. Slater tags in for some double teaming. Slater goes to work on Orton now. Orton cuts him off and beats him down. Slater nails a leg lariat and a big right hand in the corner. Orton counters and dumps Slater to the apron. Harper distracts the referee, allowing Wyatt to sweep Slater from the apron. Orton keeps control and in comes Wyatt. Wyatt mounts Slater and beats on him for a 2 count.
Orton comes back in and goes for the second rope draping DDT. Slater fights him off. Slater fights off Orton and Wyatt. Slater comes in over the top but Orton catches him in a big powerslam for a 2 count. Wyatt tags back in now. Slater fights Wyatt and Orton off again. Rhyno gets the tag as Wyatt slams Slater. Rhyno unloads on Wyatt.
Harper ends up taking one for the team on the floor as Rhyno Gores him. Rhyno goes back in the ring and doesn’t see Orton get tagged in. Orton runs in the ring and nails a RKO outta nowhere to Rhyno for the win and the titles.
Winners and New SmackDown Tag Team Champions: The Wyatt Family
– After the match, The Wyatt Family stands tall as we go to replays. Harper brings the titles in and hands them to Orton and Wyatt. Harper bows to Wyatt and sells the Gore. Wyatt places his title over Harper’s shoulder and says something to him. Orton comes face to face with Harper. Orton places his title on Harper’s other shoulder. Wyatt drops to his knees as Orton and Harper pose behind him.
– We get backstage comments from Dean Ambrose and WWE World Champion AJ Styles in separate segments. Ambrose indicates James Ellsworth is not here tonight. He also quotes Dusty Rhodes and says there will be “hard times” for AJ tonight. AJ doesn’t seem concerned about Ambrose’s confidence.
No DQ Match: Carmella vs. Nikki Bella
We go to the ring and out first comes Nikki Bella. Mauro leads us to a video on this feud as Carmella makes her way out.
They go t the floor and start. Nikki ends up bringing it back in but attempting a powerbomb on the apron. Carmella fights it off as the referee warns them to bring it back in the ring. Carmella sends Nikki into the steel steps with a head scissors. Carmella sends Nikki into the barrier. Carmella comes back in the ring as Nikki sells a leg injury. Nikki makes it in before the 10 count and kicks out at 2. JBL says this is No DQ but there are count outs. Carmella keeps working on the leg now. She suplexes the leg into the ropes and poses as fans boo her.
Carmella puts Nikki in a Tree of Woe and goes under the ring for a kendo stick. Carmella brings it in and mocks John Cena before hitting Nikki with the kendo stick a few times. Nikki falls to the mat. Carmella with another kendo stick shot. Nikki fights her off now. Carmella unloads with the kendo stick. Nikki fights out of a hold with kendo stick shots. Carmella grabs the stick again but wastes time and Nikki kicks her from behind, dropping her on the floor. Nikki grabs the stick but Carmella rams her into the barrier. Nikki rams Carmella back into the apron. Nikki stands on top of the barrier and hits a big roundhouse kick to the face. Nikki brings Carmella back into the ring and beats on her with the kendo stick.
Carmella dumps Nikki to the floor. Nikki sprays her in the face with a fire extinguisher. Nikki brings the extinguisher in the ring and sprays her again. Nikki empties the extinguisher and scoops Carmella for the Rack Attack 2.0. She hits it for the pin.
Winner: Nikki Bella
– After the match, Nikki is making her exit when Carmella recovers and yells for the music to be cut. Carmella says she hopes Nikki is proud of herself. Carmella says Nikki hasn’t evened the odds after what happened at Survivor Series but she didn’t because she wasn’t the one who attacked Nikki that night. Carmella reveals that it was Natalya who attacked Nikki.
– We get a video package for tonight’s Ladder Match.
– Dasha Fuentes is backstage with SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan. Bryan praises Ziggler and believes he’s a better representative for the SmackDown brand. Bryan admits The Miz does bring a star quality to the title. Miz walks up and interrupts. Miz wishes it was Bryan he’s going to push off a ladder tonight. Miz tells Bryan to enjoy watching him retain the title. Miz walks off.
Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Title: Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz
We go to the ring and out comes Dolph Ziggler first. We get a look at some of the other international announce teams in the arena. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz is out next with Maryse.
Mauro says this is the final battle between these two. The bell rings and they have words in the middle of the ring as we see the title hanging high. Ziggler with the first takedown. Ziggler pounds on Miz and takes him to the corner. Miz catches a superkick. Ziggler blocks the Skull Crushing Finale. More back and forth. Miz catapults Ziggler to the floor. Ziggler goes under the ring for a ladder but Miz nails a Wrecking Ball dropkick. Miz tries to run Ziggler into a ladder standing at ringside but it’s blocked. Miz blocks a shot into a ladder on the ramp. More back and forth until Miz drops Ziggler with a big boot to the face.
Ziggler ends up sending Miz face first into the ladder. Miz turns it around and uses the ladder on Ziggler at ringside. Ziggler blocks a big shot and drops Miz on the floor. Ziggler runs Miz’s face across the steel as fans do dueling chants. Ziggler keeps control until Miz drops him face first into the ladder on the floor. Miz regroups as the referee checks on Ziggler. Miz tries to bring a ladder in the ring but Ziggler knocks him in the face with it. Miz dropkicks the ladder into Ziggler. Ziggler falls back on the floor. Another tug-of-war for the ladder. Ziggler pulls Miz into the ring post and he goes down. Miz stops Ziggler from pushing a ladder in the ring. Ziggler kicks him. Ziggler goes for a Fame-asser into the ladder. Miz blocks it and goes for a powerbomb. Ziggler blocks it and drops Miz into the ladder with a big DDT. Both are back down now.
They come back in and Miz stops Ziggler from climbing a ladder. Miz rams a ladder into Ziggler in the corner. A ladder is bridged in the corner. They fight up top and Ziggler drops Miz face first into the ladder. Miz hits the mat on his back. Ziggler jumps over the bridged ladder and hits a big elbow drop for a 2 count. Ziggler sends Miz face first into the bridged ladder. Ziggler climbs up for the title but Miz fights him. Ziggler kicks him away. Miz comes back and pulls Ziggler to the mat but Ziggler hits a running clothesline. Ziggler goes back up but Miz pushes the ladder over. Ziggler crashes. Miz with more ladder shots in the corner. Miz mocks Daniel Bryan and nails a running dropkick into the ladder. Miz with another corner dropkick into the ladder and more mocking Bryan. Miz goes for another dropkick but Ziggler shoves the ladder in his face.
Ziggler stands the ladder up while Miz is still down. Miz climbs up and they meet at the top of the ladder, trading shots. Ziggler knocks Miz to the mat. Ziggler reaches for the title but Miz grabs his foot and wraps it around the ladder. Miz ties Ziggler’s leg up on the ladder and he comes down as the ladder goes over. Miz blocks a superkick and drops Ziggler’s knee over the steel. Miz with another knee shot into the steel. Miz puts Ziggler’s leg in between the ladder legs and continues the attack. Miz ends up going for a Skull Crushing Finale on the ladder but Ziggler fights him off. Ziggler goes for a superkick but his leg goes out. Miz with a SCF into the ladder.
Miz stands the ladder up and looks to climb for the title as Maryse looks on. Miz grabs the title but Ziggler pushes the ladder over. Miz is hanging by the title now. Ziggler pushes the ladder up and knocks Miz down. He falls but doesn’t have the title in his hand. It appears Miz may have suffered an injury. The referee checks on him on the floor. Ziggler climbs up for the title but is slow to get there. Miz comes back in and stops him. Miz limps around but manages to slingshot powerbomb Ziggler from the ladder to the top rope onto the bridged ladder in the corner. Some fans chant for The Miz now.
Miz looks to be hurting as he stands two ladders up. He climbs one. Ziggler comes in and climbs the other. They fight at the top of the ladders. They both get fingers on the title but the fight continues. Ziggler unloads with right hands and a headbutt, and another headbutt. Ziggler knocks Miz to the floor with a headbutt. Ziggler falls a few steps but climbs back up for the title. Miz runs back up the ladder and hits two low blows. Ziggler hangs from the ladder now. Miz sends him to the mat. Miz climbs up and grabs the title to retain.
Winner: The Miz
– After the match, Miz hobbles down the ladder with the title as Maryse checks on him. Ziggler rolls to the floor. Miz raises the title as Maryse calls for a mic. Miz dedicates the win to SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan. Miz raises the title and says, “Hey Daniel, we did it!” Miz says Bryan’s hate and always giving Ziggler a chance motivated him to become the greatest Intercontinental Champion ever. Miz calls for someone to give Ziggler a participation award. He knocks Dallas and calls everyone losers. He and Maryse are winners. Maryse goes on and drops the mic before kissing his wife. Miz hobbles away as his music hits. We go to replays.
– We get a video for tonight’s Chairs Match.
Chairs Match: Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin
We go to the ring and Kalisto is out first. Out next comes Baron Corbin.
The bell rings and Kalisto goes to work with a chair but Corbin shuts him down. Corbin takes control but Kalisto blocks a powerbomb onto a chair. Kalisto with kicks now. Kalisto with some offense until Corbin turns it around. Corbin with forearms to the head as Kalisto’s head is up against the barrier.
Corbin uses his shirt to manhandle Kalisto at ringside. Corbin tosses Kalisto into a pile of chairs. Corbin brings it back in the ring and covers for a 2 count.
Corbin keeps control and continues dominating. Corbin stands up a bunch of chairs in the middle of the ring. Kalisto forces Corbin to chase him. Kalisto sends Corbin head first into a chair that was propped up in the corner. Kalisto keeps control and goes to the top. Kalisto puts Corbin through the chairs in the middle of the ring with a seated senton. Corbin kicks out at 2. Kalisto ends up running for a big dive onto Corbin on the floor but Corbin catches him with a big Deep Six on the floor.
They bring it back in the ring and Corbin covers for a 2 count. Corbin mounts Kalisto and unloads on him now. Corbin is upset. Corbin collapses a bunch of chairs and stacks them in the middle of the ring. Corbin with chair shots on the floor now. Kalisto turns it around with offense on the floor now. Kalisto brings it back in with a springboard leg drop. Kalisto places a chair on top of Corbin and climbs to the top. Kalisto nails the big moonsault but Corbin still kicks out at 2. Kalisto with chair shots to the back now. Kalisto makes a pile of chairs in the middle of the ring now. Kalisto goes to the top but Corbin counters and smashes a chair in Kalisto’s face on his way down.
Corbin nails End of Days on top of the pile of chairs for the win.
Winner: Baron Corbin
– After the match, Corbin stands tall as we go to replays. Corbin goes to ringside and tears the top of the announce table. Corbin yells at the announcers, scaring the hell out of Mauro. Corbin says that will happen to anyone who gets in his way. Corbin acts out a bit more before leaving as the referee checks on Kalisto. We get more replays from the match.
– Dasha is backstage with Natalya, asking about Carmella accusing her of being the one to attack Nikki Bella at Survivor Series. Natalya just says “yeah right” and goes on to wish Becky Lynch good luck. Natalya praises Becky and says Carmella’s accusations are absurd. Natalya calls Carmella a liar and walks off.
– The announcers hype WWE Roadblock, the Royal Rumble and the WWE Network. Tom Phillips leads us to a video package for tonight’s Women’s Title match.
Tables Match for the SmackDown Women’s Title: Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch
We go to the ring and Alexa Bliss is out first. SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is out next.
The bell rings and Becky quickly takes control. Becky goes to ringside for a table but Bliss nails the Wrecking Ball dropkick. Bliss sends Becky into the barrier and looks for a table but changes her mind. Becky nails a clothesline. Becky launches Bliss into the barrier. Becky keeps control and goes for a powerbomb onto the announce table but Bliss escapes to the apron. Bliss with a kick to the head. Becky sweeps her on the apron. Becky keeps control and hits a snap suplex. Becky goes under the ring and brings a table out.
Becky stands the table up on the floor while Bliss recovers. Bliss kicks her as she comes back in. Becky fights her off. Becky tries for a suplex from the ring through the table on the floor. Bliss fights her off. Becky comes back into the ring but Bliss knees her and beats her down. Bliss unloads in the corner now. Bliss misses in the corner and gets kicked. Becky makes a comeback but Bliss bites her fingers and sends her to the mat. Bliss comes back in with more offense. Bliss keeps control and goes under the ring for a table. Becky jumps off the apron but misses. Bliss sends Becky face first into the ring post. Bliss finishes pulling the table out now. Bliss slides the table in the ring and goes back to work on Becky, slamming her head first into the apron. Bliss brings Becky back in now. Bliss stomps on Becky and goes to stand the table up.
Becky looks to make a comeback but Bliss beats her down. Bliss places Becky on the table and goes to the top but Becky cuts her off. Becky climbs up for a superplex but gets sent to the mat. Bliss kicks her back. Bliss puts a table into the corner and leans it up. Becky fires back with uppercuts. More back and forth now. Bliss blocks a Bexplex through the table. They both avoid going through the table a few times. Bliss drops double knees across the ribs. Bliss pushes the table over onto Becky but she rolls out of the way.
More back and forth. Becky puts Bliss into a fireman’s carry to put her through the table but Bliss pushes the table over. Bliss drops Becky onto the under-side of the table with a DDT. Becky uses the table legs for leverage and applies the Disarm-Her. The hold is broken. Becky with a pumphandle slam. Becky lays a table across the bottom rope in the corner. She places Bliss on top of the table next. She goes to the top but Bliss fights her and brings her to the mat hard. Becky counters an attempt and sends Bliss face first into the table that was placed on the bottom rope.
They trade shots on the apron now. Bliss gets knocked to the floor. Bliss takes advantage and powerbombs Becky through the table that was earlier stood up on the floor. Bliss wins the title.
Winner and New SmackDown Women’s Champion: Alexa Bliss
– After the bell, Bliss goes in the ring to raise her title as Becky is down on the floor. We go to replays. Becky isn’t happy about Dasha trying to interview her at ringside. Becky says she’s upset with herself and doesn’t feel good right now. She walks off and we go to more replays as Bliss looks on with the gold.
– We get hype for tonight’s main event.
TLC Match for the WWE World Title: Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles
We go to the ring and out first comes Dean Ambrose. WWE World Champion AJ Styles is out next.
We get formal ring introductions from Hamilton. There were some loud boos for Ambrose. The bell rings and AJ attacks but Ambrose drops him first. Back and forth now. AJ ends up standing a ladder under the title and climbing up. Ambrose runs in and stops him. AJ goes back up again but Ambrose stops him. Ambrose whips AJ under the ladder and shoves it into his face on the bounce back. Ambrose clotheslines AJ out to the floor. Ambrose beats AJ up the entrance-way now and tosses him across a table. The assault continues with Ambrose takes it over to the stage area. Ambrose with a suplex on the floor. Ambrose taunts AJ and places him on top of a table. Ambrose climbs one of the taller, heavy duty ladders. AJ gets off the table and walks away. Ambrose with a clothesline from behind.
They fight in the crowd now. Ambrose dumps a trash can over AJ. They fight back to the ringside area. Ambrose comes off the barrier but AJ dropkicks him in mid-air. AJ keeps control on the barrier but misses a flying forearm against the barrier. Ambrose grabs a chair and runs around the ring, nailing AJ in the face with it. Ambrose returns to the ring and stands the ladder up. Ambrose goes to climb up but AJ runs in and stops him.
Styles nails Ambrose with the ladder and wastes some time. AJ drops Ambrose on the ladder and nails a big knee drop. Ambrose ends up catapulting AJ into a ladder leaned up against the ropes, causing AJ to fall to the floor as well. Ambrose launches a ladder out of the ring, knocking AJ back. Ambrose brings a table in the ring instead of a ladder to climb for the title. AJ comes in with a chair shot to the back. AJ keeps control with the chair. AJ stands the chair up and puts Ambrose through it with a sidewalk slam.
AJ keeps control with the chair and stands another up. AJ goes under the ring and brings a few more steel chairs in. AJ stands 4 chairs up together in the middle of the ring. He goes for a suplex through the chairs but Ambrose blocks it and sends AJ crashing through the chairs. A “holy shit” chant breaks out. Ambrose with a slam into a chair. Ambrose takes a chair to the second rope and elbow drops it onto AJ. Ambrose launches AJ into the corner while he’s down. Ambrose leans a table up in the corner now. AJ fights back and unloads. AJ with a snap suplex through the table in the corner.
Ambrose unloads with strikes now. AJ nails a dropkick. Ambrose comes right back with the Lunatic Lariat to turn AJ inside out. More back and forth and counters. Ambrose sends Styles out to the floor. Ambrose smiles before nailing a big dive. Ambrose lays Styles on top of the announce table. He stands a ladder on top of another announce table. AJ climbs off but Ambrose beats him up some more and places him back on the announce table. Ambrose climbs to the top of the ladder that was placed on top of the other announce table. Ambrose leaps and nails a huge elbow drop to put AJ through the announce table. A “holy shit” chant breaks out as the referee checks on both. Fans chant “this is awesome” as we go to replays.
Ambrose gets up while AJ is still out. Ambrose brings a ladder into the ring and climbs up for the title. AJ leaps in with a Phenomenal Forearm and knocks Ambrose off the ladder. The ladder is still standing. They both climb the ladder now. They trade shots at the top. Both fall to the mat. Ambrose blocks a Styles Clash. Ambrose spins AJ around and sends him into the ladder. Ambrose climbs back up but AJ pulls him down. AJ goes for a powerbomb but Ambrose counters and dumps AJ over the top rope. AJ pulls Ambrose off the apron and drops him at ringside. AJ hits the moonsault into the reverse DDT on the floor. Styles ends up nailing a huge springboard 450 from the ring through a table. Fans can’t believe it. Another “this is awesome” chant.
AJ comes back in and positions the ladder under the title. He climbs but out comes James Ellsworth in a neck brace. He does get some boos. AJ stares him down. AJ goes to ringside and beats Ellsworth down. AJ pulls Ellsworth over for a Styles Clash on the steps but Ambrose stops him. Ambrose drops AJ with a DDT on the steps. Ambrose goes back in the ring and moves the ladder under the title. Ambrose climbs for the title but AJ makes it in the ring and climbs up with him. Ambrose knocks AJ off the ladder and out of the ring. Ambrose reaches for the title but Ellsworth comes in and tips the ladder over. Ambrose falls off, crashing through a table on the outside of the ring.
Ellsworth waves for AJ to come back into the ring. We see a dazed Ambrose looking up from the debris at ringside. AJ crawls back in the ring as Ellsworth roots him on from ringside. AJ stands the ladder up and climbs for the title. AJ slowly climbs the ladder and grabs the title to retain.
Winner: AJ Styles
– After the match, AJ’s music hits as Ellsworth celebrates at ringside. AJ stands on top of the ladder with the title as Ellsworth watches. Ambrose is laid out at ringside. We go to replays. TLC goes off the air with Ellsworth celebrating while AJ stands on top of the ladder with the title held high.
