Former TNA Star Garett Bischoff was the latest guest on the Pancakes and Powerslams Show. He had much to say about his stint at TNA, as well as their current state. Here are some highlights.

What wrestling is lacking today:

“What was special about wrestling back then that we lack today is the magic. With the internet and everybody has got a phone, Instagram, and Facebook, and social media, and Youtube, and everything else. It’s just the magic isn’t there like it used to be. It’s not as special as it used to be, from a viewer’s perspective.”

Aces & Eights angle:

“It’s unfortunate [how it ended]. It was one of the coolest things going on. That kind of thing hadn’t been seen in a long time. Not saying it hadn’t already been done, it just hadn’t been seen in a while. Something like the raw, kind of edgy, faction… it was fresh and a lot of fun. It was getting a lot of good traction and reaction.”

State of TNA:

“The fans suffer and the talents suffer. So, I want to see TNA do good. I want to see all wrestling companies do good, because it gives people places to go and places to work. That’s the whole thing. At the end of the day, [when] people allow themselves to get wrapped up in the bitterness of everything, they’re missing the point.

Wrestling is a passion, and I don’t what to see anybody not be able to pursue their passion because of stupid stuff. So, I hope it all works out for them for the sake of the fans, and for the sake of a place for people to work. I don’t want to see any of my brothers and sisters out on their rear ends because of something stupid.”

Bischoff also shared growing up as a kid and traveling with his father at WCW events.
