1971 – Norvell Austin and Sputnik Monroe defeat Tojo Yamamoto and Robert Fuller, to win the NWA Mid-Southern Tag Team Championship.

1982 – Nick Bockwinkel defeats Jerry Lawler, to win the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.

1987 – Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee defeat Soldat Ustinov and Doug Somers, to win the AWA World Tag Team Championship.  Ustinov had won the championship with Boris Zhukov as his partner on May 25, 1987.  However Zhukov jumped to the WWF in October 1987;  he was replaced by Somers and Ustinov’s tag team partner.

1989 – Jumbo Tsuruta defeats Genichiro Tenryu, to win the AJPW Triple Crown Championship.

1993 – Randy Savage defeats Jerry Lawler, to win the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship.

1993 – On WWF Monday Night Raw, Razor Ramon defeats Rick Martel, to win the vacant WWF Intercontinental Championship.

1996 – Ultimo Dragon defeats Great Sasuke, to win the J-Crown.

1999 – Jushin Thunder Liger defeats Kendo Kashin, to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

1999 – In the Monday Night Wars, WWF Raw Is War (6.1 TV rating) defeats WCW Monday Nitro (2.6 TV rating).

2000 – On this evening’s episode of WCW Thunder, The Misfits In Action (Lieutenant Loco and Corporal Cajun) defeat Sean O’Haire and Mark Jindrak, to win the WCW World Tag Team Championship.  Commissioner Mike Sanders comes out and announces The MIA as the new champs;  but orders a rematch to start immediately.  O’Haire and Jindrak reclaim the titles in the second match, thanks in part to O’Haire nailing Corporal Cajun in the head with one of the Tag Team title belts.  NOTE:  Thunder and WCW Monday Nitro were taped from Sydney, Australia on Monday October 9, 2000.  Nitro was taped first, to be aired in the United States that night;  Thunder was taped afterwards and aired on Wednesday October 11th.

2001 – On this evening’s episode of SmackDown!, Billy Kidman defeats X-Pac, to win the WWF Cruiserweight Championship.

2003 – Night two of the NWA 55th Anniversary Show is held in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

-In a tag team match, Kid Inferno and Twisted Youth defeat DJ Skittlez and Clark.

-In a Triple Threat Match, Roderick Strong defeats Jerrelle Clark and Danny Doring, to retain the NWA Florida X Division Championship.

-JT Wolfen defeats Chance Prophet, to retain the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship.

-Leilani Kai defeats AJ Sparx, to retain the NWA World Women’s Championship.

-In a tag team match, America’s Most Wanted (Chris Harris and James Storm) defeat The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens).

-Trik Nasty wins a Battle Royal.

-A Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship ends in a no-contest.  The participants were Double Dragon, Rocky Reynolds, Vinnie Viagra, and titleholder Chris Draven.  Due to the no-contest ruling, Draven retains the title.

2003 – In World Xtreme Wrestling, J-Busta defeats Supreme Lee Great, to win the WXW Cruiserweight Championship.

2006 – In Ohio Valley Wrestling, Devin Driscoll defeats Charles Evans, to win the OVW Television Championship.

2008 – In Women Superstars Uncensored, The Beatdown Betties (Annie Social and Roxie Cotton) defeat Amy Lee and Missy Sampson, to become the inaugural WSU Tag Team Champions.

2008 – In Combat Zone Wrestling, Beef Wellington and Greg Excellent defeat Team AnDrew (Andy Summer and Drew Gulak, to win the CZW World Tag Team Championship.  Wellington and Excellent would have their first title defense later that evening;  they ended up losing the titles to The BLK-OUT (Ruckus and Sabian).

Also, Chuck Taylor is forced to vacate the CZW World Junior Heavyweight Championship, after suffering a broken collarbone.

2010 – NJPW Destruction ’10 is held in Tokyo, Japan in front of 8,800 fans.

-Manabu Nakanishi defeats Tama Tonga.

-In a six-man tag team match, Tiger Mask and Bad Intentions (Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard) defeat Chaos (Takashi Iizuka, Tomohiro Ishii, and Yujiro Takahashi) via disqualification.

-In another six-man tag team match, The Complete Players (Gedo, Jado, and Masato Tanaka) defeat Jushin Thunder Liger, Tomoaki Honma, and Wataru Inoue.

-Tajiri defeats Toru Yano.

-Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi) defeat Apollo 55 (Prince Devitt and Ryusuke Taguchi), to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.

-In a tag team match, Koji Kanemoto and Yuji Nagata defeat Atsushi Aoki and Go Shiozaki.

-Hirooki Goto defeats Shinsuke Nakamura.

-Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats Testuya Naito.

-Satoshi Kojima defeats Togi Makabe, to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

2013 – In Chaotic Wrestling, Chester Furnacola defeats Mike Webb, to win the CW New England Championship.  This was a House of Horrors Match.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel (49 years old), former WWE & WCW wrestler The Tonga Kid, aka The Samoan Savage (51 years old), 3-time NWA-TNA World Tag Team Champion Andy Douglas (38 years old), former WWF & WCW wrestler  Sam Houston (53 years old), current NJPW NEVER Six-Man Tag Team Champion / 2-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Ricochet (28 years old), and WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi (51 years old).  Finally, happy birthday to Tazz (49 years old).  Tazz is a ECW Triple Crown Champion / 3-time WWF Hardcore Champion / WWF Tag Team Champion, and former TV commentator for WWE & TNA.
