WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions Crowned at Backlash Tonight (Photos)

Tonight’s WWE Backlash featured the semi-finals and finals in the Smackdown Tag Team Championship Tournament. Heath Slater and Rhyno defeated the Usos in the finals to become the first-ever champions.

The Usos defeated the Hype Bros earlier in the evening to gain entry to the finals. As noted, that “Second Chance” match was made after The Usos injured Chad Gable of American Alpha on last Tuesday’s SmackDown, forcing Alpha to be removed from the tournament finals.

This also means that Heath Slater will receive a Smackdown contract.
