WWE bringing back the KOTR tournament?

WWE recently filed for the trademark “King of the Ring,” which has sparked speculation that the company would be bringing back the tournament.

‪The King of the Ring‬ used to be an annual event from 1985 – 2002. Don Muraco won the first King of the Ring tournament.

WWE brought back the tournament in 2006 for the ‪Smackdown‬ brand and in 2008 and 2010 for the ‪RAW‬ brand. Last year, WWE used the tournament as a ‪‎WWE Network‬ exclusive event that was won by King Barrett.
