7/13/16 WWE Cruiserweight Classic Coverage

We see the hype video for the WWE Crtuiserweight Classic, which features shots of the 32 competitors and is voiced-over by Triple H. We then see the opening video for the Cruiserweight Classic, and then go into the arena at Full Sail University, where Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan welcome us to the show. We join Corey Graves in the Cruiserweight Classic Control Center. Graves says he will have all the bracket updates. We will see Hoho Lun vs. Ariya Daivari, Clement Petiot vs. Cedric Alexander, Kota Ibushi vs. Sean Maluta, and Gran Metalik vs. Alejandro Saez tonight. We take a special look at Gran Metalik and Alejandro Saez.

Match #1: First Round Tournament Match: Gran Metalik vs. Alejandro Saez
The men shake hands before the match and the bell rings. They tie up and Saez wrenches Metalik’s arm. Metalik gets free, but Saez stays on the attack. Saez applies a headlock, but Metalik sends him off the ropes. Saez takes Metalik down with a shoulder block and then delivers a dropkick. Saez goes for the cover, but Metalik kicks out at two. Saez stomps down on Metalik and tries to send him off the ropes, but Metalik counters and sends Saez to the apron. Saez comes back with a big dropkick and goes for the cover, but Metalik kicks out at two. Metalik comes back with a big kick to the midsection and then a dropkick from the top rope that sends Saez to the floor. Metalik springboards onto Saez and takes him down to the floor. Back in the ring, Metalik splashes from the top rope and goes for the cover, but Saez kicks out at two. Metalik delivers another kick, but Saez puts him on the apron and kicks him in the back of the head and sends Metalik to the floor. Saez delivers a Shooting Star Press on the floor and tosses Metalik back into the ring. Saez goes up top and goes for a corkscrew plancha, but Metalik moves and clotheslines Saez in the corner. Metalik drives Saez down with a fireman’s carry neck-breaker combo and goes the pin fall.
Winner: Gran Metalik.

We take a look at the next two competitors, Ariya Daivari and Hoho Lun.

Match #2: First Round Tournament Match: Hoho Lun vs. Ariya Daivari
Daivari refuses to shake hands and the bell rings. Daivari applies a headlock, but Lun gets free and takes Daivair down with a dropkick. Lun dropkicks Daivari in the back of the head and goes for the cover, but Daivari kicks out at two. Daivari comes back and drops Lun with a neck-breaker. Daivari goes for the cover, but Lun kicks out at one. Daivari stomps away on Lun in the corner and then slams him into the opposite corner. Daivari goes for a splash, but Hun moves. Hun charges, but Daivari takes him with with a running knee lift. Daivari goes for the cover, but Lun kicks out at two. Daivari drives his knee into Lun’s back a few times and then applies a headlock. Lun tries to fight back, but Daivari slams him down to the mat with a hand full of hair. Daivari goes for the cover, but Lun kicks out at two. Daivari locks in a headlock down on the mat, but Lun gets back to his feet. Daivair drives his knee into Lun’s midsection and then delivers an enzuiguri. Daivari goes for the cover, but Lun kicks out at two. Daivari smacks Lun across the face and comes of the ropes, but Lun counters with a spinning heel kick. Lun drops Daivari with some short-arm clotheslines and then takes him down with a missile dropkick. Lun goes behind Daivari, but Daivari switches. Daivari drops Lun with a back elbow and goes to the top rope. He goes for the frog splash, but Lun moves. Lun delivers a kick to the back of Daivari’s head and goes for the cover, but Daivari kicks out. Lun picks Daivari up and delivers a German suplex and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Hoho Lun.

We take a look at the next two competitors, Cedric Alexander and Clement Petiot

Match #3: First Round Tournament Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Clement Petiot
They shake hands and Petiot pulls Alexander in close and the bell rings. Petiot slams Alexander down to the mat, but Alexander reverses into a hammer lock. Petiot reverses into his own hammer lock, but Alexander trips him up. Alexander takes Petiot down with a couple arm drags and Petiot goes to the outside. Alexander flips around in the ring to how off a bit as Petiot watches from the floor. Alexander goes for a flip kick, but Petiot catches him. Alexander comes back with a big dropkick and goes for the cover, but Petiot kicks out at two. Alexnader charges Petiot in the corner, but Petiot counters with a knee to the face. Petiot delivers a right hand and then sends him down to the mat with a clubbing forearm. Petiot goes for the cover, but Alexander kicks out. Petiot suplexes Alexander and goes for the cover, but Alexander kicks out again. Petiot slams Alexander shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. Petiot delivers a gut-wrench suplex and goes for the cover, but Alexander kicks out a third time. Petiot applies a headlock and then delivers an elbow shot. Alexander gets free and sends Petiot to the corner. Alexander charges, but Petiot moves and then drives his knee into Alexander’s face. Petiot goes for the cover, but Alexander kicks out. Petiot delivers a series of right hands to Alexander and Alexander rolls to the apron. Petiot goes for a running knee lift, but Alexander counters and drapes Petiot over the top rope. Alexander takes Petiot down with a springboard clothesline and then a running forearm in the corner. Alexander does it again and then goes for a suplex, but Petiot gets free. Petiot takes Alexander down with a discus clothesline and goes for the cover, but Alexander kicks out at two. Petiot stalks Alexander, but Alexander takes Petiot down with the Lumbar Check back-breaker and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Cedric Alexander.

We take a look at the next two competitors, Kota Ibushi and Sean Maluta.

Match #4: First Round Tournament Match: Kota Ibushi vs. Sean Maluta
The men shake hands and the bell rings. Ibushi connects with a kick to the leg and Maluta drops to the mat. Maluta goes behind, but Ibushi counters with an arm wrench. Maluta counters and takes Ibushi down to the mat. Ibushi quickly gets up, but Maluta applies a headlock. Ibushi sends Maluta off the ropes, but Maluta takes him down with a shoulder block. Ibushi comes back and delivers a roundhouse kick to Maluta’s chest. Ibushi sends Maluta to the corner, but Maluta goes over Ibushi and connects with an elbow. Maluta goes for the Samoan Splash, but Ibushi moves out of the way. Ibushi delivers a springboard dropkick and then sends Maluta to the corner. Ibushi charges, but Maluta counters with an elbow. Maluta charges, but Ibushi counters with an exploder suplex. Ibushi charges, but Maluta counters with a boot to the face and then delivers a Codebreaker from the top rope that sends Ibushi to the floor. Maluta launches to the outside and flips onto Ibushi. Maluta tosses Ibushi back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Ibushi kicks out at two. Maluta applies a submission down on the mat and then switches to a rear chin-lock. Ibushi fights out, but Maluta comes back with a kick and a neck-breaker. Maulta goes for the cover, but Ibushi kicks out at two. Maluta kicks Ibushi in the chest a few times and then backs away. Maluta charges, but Ibushi counters with a dropkick. Ibushi deliver s quick series of chops and slams and then delivers a big kick to Maluta’s chest. Ibushi connects with a standing moonsault and goes for the cover, but Maluta kicks out at two. Ibushi puts Maluta on the top rope and goes for a super-plex, but Maluta sends him down to the mat. Maluta sets up for the Samoan Splash, but Ibushi comes back with a kick to the back of Maluta’s head. Maluta falls to the outside and Ibushi takes him down with the Triangle Moonsault on the floor. Ibushi tosses Maluta back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Maluta kicks out at two. Maluta delivers a superkick and goes for the cover, but Ibushi kicks out at two. Maluta kicks Ibushi in the face, but Ibushi counters with a roundhouse kick to the face. Ibushi slams Maluta down to the mat with a Last Rides powerbomb and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Kota Ibushi.
After the match, the men share a handshake and a hug as we see that Kota Ibushi will face Cedric Alexander in the second round.

We see that Tajiri vs. Damian Slater, TJ Perkins vs. Da Mack, Mustafa Ali vs. Lince Dorado, and Akita Tozawa vs. Kenneth Johnson will take place next week as the Cruiserweight Classic comes to a close.
