Elimination Chamber

The Elimination Chamber Preshow kicks off from Corpus Christi, Texas where Rene Young, Booker T, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton welcome us to the show. They begin going over the card and Rene brings up the Elimination Chamber Match for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship. We officially hear that Rusev is out tonight. Booker T says his source told him that Rusev’s replacement will be a former World Heavyweight Champion, but he cannot reveal who. We go backstage with Tom Phillips in the Social Media Lounge. His Q&A guest tonight will be Lana.

We go backstage and see Kane on his cell phone. The New Day walks up and interrupts his call. Big E says they did him a favor by taking out Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns on Smackdown. Kane says all three members of The New Day will participate in the Elimination Chamber tonight. Xavier says they each get their own pod because he is claustrophobic, but Kane says they can start the match. Xavier begins to talk again, but Kingston shuts him up and says they’ll all fit in the pod.

The panel talks about the tag title match and Graves says the numbers are all out the window now that The New Day has the advantage. We are reminded that Daniel Bryan will return tonight and be a guest on Miz TV. We see a video preview for the match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

We see the video hype package for the ongoing feud between John Cena and Kevin Owens. Graves hypes up Owens and says he (Owens) believes he belongs on the main roster. Saxton says other than his own family, Owens only cares about himself. Booker says Owens has been a champion everywhere he has been and is representing Canada very well.

The panel talks about the rivalry between Neville and Bo Dallas, who have rekindled their feud in the past couple weeks. Saxton says Dallas had forgotten all about Neville, but then Neville came to Raw and reminded Dallas about it. The panel talks about the Divas match for tonight, with Nikki Bella, Naomi, and Paige facing off in a Triple Threat Match, where Brie Bella and Tamina will be barred from ringside. Booker says Naomi will get it done, Graves says Paige will win, and Saxton predicts Nikki.

We see that Stardust will face Zack Ryder on the preshow in just a few minutes. We then see a video hype package for the Elimination Chamber structure. We see some videos for Tough Enough and then join Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, and Jerry Lawler at ringside.

Stardust vs. Zack Ryder
Stardust sends Ryder to the mat, but Ryder comes right back with a flapjack. Ryder clotheslines Stardust out to the floor and then drives him into the barricade with a dropkick. Ryder tosses Stardust back into the ring, but Stardust catches him with an uppercut. Stardust stomps down on Ryder and then applies a surfboard submission. Ryder counters with a pin attempt, but Stardust kicks out and stomps away on Ryder again. Stardust goes for a suplex, but Ryder counters with a neck-breaker. Ryder drops Stardust with a clothesline, but Stardust comes back and pulls Ryder off the top rope and down to the mat. Stardust charges at Ryder, but Ryder dumps him to the outside. Ryder dives out onto Stardust on the outside. Ryder tosses Stardust back into the ring and goes for a sunset flip, but Stardust counters. Stardust slams Ryder down to the mat, but Ryder takes Stardust to the corner and delivers the Broski Boot. Ryder goes for the cover, but Stardust kicks out at two. Ryder goes for the Rough Ryder, but Stardust counters and drops Ryder with the Queen’s Crossbow (aka, Cross Rhodes) and gets the pin.
Winner: Stardust.

We go back to the panel, but then we transition into the breakup of Lana and Rusev. We see Lana in the Social Media Lounge with Tom Phillips. Lana says she wishes no one harm, but she doesn’t have any information on his ankle injury. Someone asks her about Dolph Ziggler. She says he’s funny, makes her laugh, and is good-looking. She says she has genuine interest in Dolph. Someone asks her about the United States now that the WWE Universe has embraced her. She says she has judged a lot of people the wrong way because of Rusev, but now she needs to try to understand different perspectives. Someone asks how it feels to be free of Rusev. She says it’s bittersweet.


Miz TV with Special Guest Daniel Bryan

The Miz says he is back and asks the crowd to stop booing Summer Rae. The Miz says the biggest moment while he was away was this: and then we see a video of Daniel Bryan relinquishing the WWE Intercontinental Champion. The Miz introduces Daniel Bryan. The Miz says from the bottom of his heart, he wishes Bryan a speedy recovery. The Miz asks him how he is doing, but interrupts and says that this has been hard on him. The Miz says after all the time he put in to making Bryan the star he is today, it is tragic that his career is over. Miz says he feels like the victim. Bryan says his career is not over and he will be back. Bryan says he had written a book due out on July 21st, and The Miz interrupts and says people write books after their careers are over. The Miz lists off a lot of things that he will do for Bryan, like hiring spray tanners and make-up artists, but Bryan tells him to shut up. Bryan says he came here to present the Intercontinental Championship to whoever wins it later tonight. He says once again that his career is not over and that he will be back. Miz says Bryan is lucky that, per doctor’s orders, no physical contact can happen. Bryan says everyone is tired of listening to Miz and calls Miz TV boring. Bryan brings out Macho Mandow and AxelMania, who beat down The Miz in the ring.

We go backstage where Eden Stiles interviews Dean Ambrose. He says he is feeling the pressure tonight, but his pressure can be relieved by punching Seth Rollins in the face and taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He says he will be swinging tonight, and whoever he hits tonight is fine by him. Roman Reigns walks up and asked him if he got the ice and the cold ones. Ambrose says no, and Reigns says he did. Reigns says he is in Ambrose’s corner tonight.

We go the ring, where John Bradshaw Layfield is inside the ring which is surrounded by the Elimination Chamber. He runs down the rules of the Elimination Chamber Match and gives descriptions of each part of the Chamber and the preshow comes to a close.

Elimination Chamber opens with a video hype package for the Elimination Chamber structure and then hypes the two Elimination Chambers matches for tonight’s show. The video then transitions to highlighting the feud between John Cena and Kevin Owens and then Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.


WWE Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match: The New Day (c) vs. Los Matadores (w/El Torito) vs. The Ascension vs. The Lucha Dragons vs. The Prime Time Players vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.

Apparently El Torito will be inside the Chamber. The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension will start the match in the ring, while the rest of the teams will be in the pods.

The Lucha Dragons takes The Ascension down with a pair of springboards. The Dragons keep the attack going for a bit, but The Ascensions turns the tide and gets some offense in. Sin Cara gets slammed to the mat buy The Ascension as Kalisto is on top of The New Day’s pod. The New Day pull Kalisto down and almost into their pod, but The Ascension get up their as well. Kalisto fights back and Sin Cara climbs onto Tyson Kidd and Cesaro’s pod. Sin Cara connects with a senton bomb and Kalisto is finally free, but The New Day grabs him again. The clock counts down and Tyson Kidd and Cesaro enter the match.
Cesaro delivers a few uppercuts and Kidd tries to get Kalisto free from the pod. Kalisto pushes Kidd away, but Cesaro delivers an uppercut to Kalisto. Cesaro grabs Kalisto and superplexes him back into into the ring. Kidd goes for the cover, but Sin Cara breaks it up. Cesaro dumps the Dragons out to the steel and he and Kidd turn their attention to The Ascension. Viktor slams Kidd down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Cesaro breaks it up. Cesaro gets tossed onto the steel and Kidd locks Viktor in the Sharpshooter. The Dragons get back into the match and take control of things. Kalisto scales the Chamber and gets on top of The Prime Time Player’s pod. The clock counts down and Los Matadores enters the match.
Kalisto is all the way at the top of the Chamber, hanging from the top. El Torito entered the match with Diego and Fernando. Kalisto swings down from the top and takes everyone out. The Ascension take control as El Torito climbs to the top of the Chamber. Torito dives off, but The Ascension catches him and tosses him out. The Ascension hits the Fall of Man and eliminates Los Matadores and The Lucha Dragons.
The Prime Time Players enter the match and they go right after The Ascension. The Prime Time Players quickly eliminate The Ascension.
The Prime Time Players go to work on Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. Kidd and Cesaro take control with suplexes and uppercuts from Cesaro. O’Neil, Young, and Cesaro crash and burn and O’Neil crawls into the cover, but Kidd breaks it up. The New Day enters the match.
Kidd, Cesaro, and the Prime Time Players gang up and take out The New Day with a triple-suplex. Cesaro and Kidd toss Xavier Woods back into the pod and lock it. Darren Young rolls up Cesaro and eliminates Cesaro and Kidd.
Big E gets Woods out of the pod and it’s now 3-on-2 against The Prime Time Players. They shove O’Neil’s head through the steel wall of the Chamber and stomp away on him. Young fights back and sends Big E into the glass of the pod and takes out Woods and Kingston. O’Neil gets free and destroys The New Day. O’Neil drops Big E with a clothesline and slam Kingston into the steel. Big E comes back, but O’Neil slams him down to the mat and goes for the cover. Big E kicks out at two. Big E takes O’Neil’s leg out and Kingston, Woods, and Big E all pin O’Neil.
Winners and still WWE Tag Team Champions: The New Day.

We see a video preview for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, which is in two weeks on June 14th. Michael Cole tells us that we will hear some of the participants in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match later tonight.

We get a further update on Rusev, and we hear that he has suffered a fractured foot. We go backstage and see Dolph Ziggler warming up for the match. Lana walks up and wishes him good luck. She says the Intercontinental Championship would look good around his waist. He brings up Rusev, but Lana says it’s not about him. Ziggler says he is going to steal the show and Lana tells him to be careful and wishes him luck.


WWE Divas Championship Triple Threat Match: Nikki Bella (c) vs. Naomi vs. Paige

Naomi gets tossed out of the ring and Paige battles with Nikki. Naomi grabs Nikki and slams her into the announce table. Paige grabs Naomi, but Naomi kicks her in the head. Naomi goes for a cross-body, but Paige moves. Paige goes for the cover, but Naomi kicks out at two. Paige kicks Naomi in the face and then kicks Nikki back down to the floor. Paige grabs Naomi and delivers a fall-away slam. Paige goes for the cover, but Naomi kicks out at two. Nikki gets back into the ring and delivers a face-buster to Paige. Nikki goes for the cover, but Paige kicks out at two. Nikki double-clotheslines Paige and Naomi in the corner. Nikki delivers the Alabama Slam to Paige, but Naomi rolls Nikki up from behind. Nikki kicks out at two and Naomi slams her into the corner. Naomi goes for the pin on Paige, but Paige kicks out at two. Nikki goes for a kick on Paige, but Naomi attacks Nikki from behind. Naomi tosses Nikki out to the floor. Naomi suplexes Paige in the ring and delivers a leg drop. Naomi sets Paige on the top rope and delivers a few clubbing shots. Naomi climbs up top as well, but Nikki cuts her off. A Tower of Doom suplex sends Paige and Naomi down to the mat. Nikki covers Naomi, but she kicks out. Nikki then covers Paige, but Paige kicks out. Nikki goes for the Rack Attack on Paige, but Naomi drops Nikki with the Rear View. Paige sends Naomi to the outside and then locks in the PTO on Nikki, but Naomi breaks it up. Naomi goes for the cover on Paige, but Paige kicks out at two. Naomi goes up top, but Paige cuts her off. Naomi drops Paige from the top rope and goes for the cover, but Paige kicks out at two. Naomi goes for a kick on Nikki, but Nikki ducks and delivers the Rack Attack to Naomi and gets the pin.

We see the video hype package for the feud between John Cena and Kevin Owens.


Champion vs. Champion Match: John Cena (United States Champion) vs. Kevin Owens (NXT Champion)

Owens gets Cena in a headlock, but Cena sends him off the ropes and drops him with a shoulder block. Owens kicks Cena in the midsection and delivers a few forearm shots. Owens drops a knee to Cena and beats him down in the corner. Cena comes back and takes Owens down with a running bulldog, but Owens comes right back and slams Cena down to the mat. Owens slams Cena in the corner and punches him down to the mat. Owens stomps down on Cena and delivers a big right hand. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Owens applies a headlock down on the mat, but Cena gets to his feet. Owens forces Cena back down to the mat, still with the headlock applied. Cena gets up again and breaks the hold. Cena goes for the AA, but Owens counters with a DDT. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Owens keeps control and beats down Cena again. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Cena gets to his feet, and trades right hands with Owens. Cena drops Owens with a shoulder tackle. Cena goes for another, but Owens catches him and slams him down to the mat. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Owens and Cena trade right hands again and Cena gets the upper hand. Owens goes for the Powerbomb, but Cena counters and drops Owens with the side slam. Cena delivers the Five-Knuckle Shuffle and goes for the AA but Owens counters and hits the Powerbomb. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Owens goes up top, but Cena knocks him down onto the turnbuckle. Cena and Owens slug it out on the top rope, but Owens shoves Cena down. Owens goes for a springboard moonsault, but Cena moves and hits the AA. Cena goes for the cover, but Owens kicks out at two. Cena and Owens exchange right hands, but Owens takes Cena down with a superkick. Owens mocks Cena and goes for the Five-Knuckle Shuffle, but Cena grabs him and puts him in the STF. Owens counters and drops Cena with an AA. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Owens charges, but Cena counters with a tornado DDT. Cena goes for the cover, but Owens kicks out at two. Cena goes up top and connects with the leg drop. Cena goes for the cover, but Owens kicks out at two. Cena goes for the AA, but Owens counters with a power slam. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Cena and Owens exchange right hands again and Cena connects with the springboard stunner. Cena goes for the cover, but Owens kicks out at two. Owens and Cena are up top and Owens slams Cena down to the mat. Owens goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Owens connects with a senton from the top and goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two again. Cena explodes with a clothesline and then another. Owens catches Cena with the Powerbomb and GETS THE PIN!
Winner: Kevin Owens.

After the match, Owens grabs a microphone. He says now everyone knows who Kevin Owens is. He is the man who started a fight with John Cena and he is the man who just finished that fight. Owens says he has some veteran advice for John Cena. He says it’s time for Cena to go because his time is up. Owens says his own time is now, because the champ is here.

We go to the expert panel and they talk about the match that we just saw. They transition into later tonight, and Graves said he is looking forward to Seth Rollins leaving with the title, but Saxton says Ambrose will become the new Champion.


Bo Dallas vs. Neville

Before the match, Dallas grabs a mic. He says he tried to help Neville, but Neville refused. He says everyone needs help and that it is too late for Neville. Dallas says he will force Neville to bo-lieve tonight.

Dallas takes Neville down, but Neville counters and they have a stare down. They tie up and Dallas takes Neville to the corner. Neville flips out of the corner and then kicks Dallas in the head. Dallas rolls to the outside, but Neville connects with a moonsault anyway. Neville tosses Dallas back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Dallas kicks out at two. Neville gets Dallas in a headlock, but Dallas gets to the ropes. Dallas calls a timeout and says he is trying to help Neville. Neville kicks him in the chest and goes for a kick to the head, but Dallas ducks and tosses Neville to the outside. Dallas puts Neville against the apron of the ring and delivers a series of elbows. Dallas tosses Neville into the ring and continues the attack with the elbows. Dallas explodes with a forearm shot and goes for the cover, but Neville kicks out at two. Dallas applies a headlock and then delivers a series of knees. Neville comes back and slams Dallas into the bottom turnbuckle and Dallas goes to the outside. Dallas gets back into the ring, but Neville takes him down with a dropkick. Neville connects with the standing Shooting Star Press and goes for the cover, but Dallas kicks out at two. Dallas comes back and slams Neville down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Neville kicks out at two. Dallas goes for the Bo-Dog, but Neville counters and takes Dallas down to the mat. Neville goes for the Red Arrow and he connects with it and gets the pin.
Winner: Neville.

We go backstage and see Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns talking. Triple H walks up and says he heard Reigns say he would be in Ambrose’s corner tonight. Triple H says he really doesn’t have the authority to do that. He says Kane will be out there in an official capacity, but Reigns would just be a distraction. Triple H says if Reigns gets involved, Ambrose will be disqualified. Triple H wishes Ambrose good luck and walks away.


Bo Dallas vs. Neville

WWE Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus vs. King Barrett vs. R-Truth vs. Ryback vs. Mark Henry

King Barrett and Dolph Ziggler start the match. Ziggler goes for a quick cover, but Barrett kicks out at one. Barrett slams Ziggler in the corner and then clubs him in the back. Barrett hits a running knee on Ziggler and goes for the cover, but Ziggler kicks out at two. Barrett applies a headlock down on the mat. Ziggler fights back and splashes Barrett in the corner and then drops him with a neck-breaker. Ziggler drops and elbow and goes for the cover, but Barrett kicks out at two. Barrett comes back and kicks Ziggler in the face and then clotheslines him to the steel. Barrett goes after Ziggler and slams him into one of the pods. Barrett slams Ziggler into the steel chain and beats Ziggler down and stomps away on him. The countdown clock ends and R-Truth enters the match.
Barrett beats down Truth immediately and doesn’t let him exit the pod. Barrett slams Truth against the steel chain and then gets him in the ring. Ziggler gets to his feet and goes after Barrett, but Barrett delivers a big boot. Barrett slams Ziggler into the ring post and falls into the ring. Truth drops Barrett with a few clotheslines and then a kick to the face. Truth connects with a missile dropkick and goes for the cover, but Barrett kicks out at two. Truth plants Barrett with a face-buster and then connects with a scissor kick. Truth splashes Barrett in the corner, but Barrett counters with the Winds of Change. Barrett goes for the cover, but Truth kicks out at two. Ziggler rolls up Barrett, but Barrett kicks out at two. Barrett drops Ziggler with a kick to the face, but Ziggler kicks out at two. Barrett slams Ziggler into Henry’s pod and the glass breaks and Henry gets into the match before the time expired. Henry gets into the ring and the clock counts down and Ryback enters the match.
Ryback and Henry begin to brawl and Ryback drives his shoulder into Henry’s midsection in the corner. Ryback takes Henry down and goes for the cover, but Henry kicks out at two. Ryback drives his shoulder into Barrett and then clotheslines him in the corner. Ryback delivers a spine-buster and goes for the cover, but Barrett kicks out at two. Barrett hits Ziggler with Wasteland and goes for the cover, but Henry grabs Barrett and beats him down in the corner. Truth eliminates Barrett.
Ziggler and Ryback battle, as do Truth and Henry. Henry delivers a headbutt and chokes Truth in the corner. Sheamus enters the match.
Well, Sheamus’ pod won’t open so he’s still closed in. Ryback and Ziggler still battle and then Truth, Ziggler, and Ryback triple-team Henry. Ryback drops Ziggler with a spine-buster and then drops Ziggler. Ryback drops Truth with Shell Shocked and Truth is eliminated.
Ryback suplexes Ziggler and goes for the Meathook Clothesline, but Ziggler counters with a superkick. Henry, Ziggler, and Ryback are all down. Sheamus picks the lock of his pod with his necklace and enters the match. Sheamus tosses Ziggler into the pod and then sends Ryback to the steel. Henry goes for the World’s Strongest Slam on Sheamus, but Sheamus escapes. Henry slams Sheamus down and splashes him and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Sheamus comes back and connects with the Brogue Kick and eliminates Henry.
Sheamus slams Ryback into the steel chain and then goes after Ziggler. Sheamus takes Ziggler down and Ziggler is eliminated.
Ryback and Sheamus battle in the ring and Ryback sets up for the Meathook Clothesline. Sheamus counters and delivers White Noise to Ryback on the steel. Sheamus puts Ryback back into the ring for the cover, but Ryback kicks out at two. Sheamus starts his signature ten clubbing blows, but Ryback brings him to the outside. Sheamus slams Ryback into the pod and delivers the rolling senton on the steel. Back in the ring, Ryback hits Shell Shocked on Sheamus and gets the win.
Winner and new WWE Intercontinental Champion: Ryback.

Daniel Bryan gets into the ring and asks the crowd if they think he deserves the Intercontinental Championship. Bryan says he thinks he does and presents the title belt to Ryback. Ryback says Daniel Bryan is an inspiration to him and thanks Bryan. Bryan leads the crowd in a “Feed Me More” chant and leaves the ring as Ryback celebrates.

We are reminded that Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast will return tomorrow night after Raw, and his special guest will be Paul Heyman.

We see another video preview for Money in the Bank pay-per-view, which is two weeks away. We see that John Cena and Kevin Owens will go one-on-one again, while Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, and Sheamus will be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match with more participants to be named later.

We see the video hype package for the feud between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.


WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins (w/J&J Security and Kane) vs. Dean Ambrose

Ambrose gets the upper hand early on and sends Rollins to the outside. J&J Security calls timeout for Rollins and Rollins takes his time getting back into the ring. Rollins clocks Ambrose with a right hand and then beats him down in the corner. Ambrose tries to come back, but J&J Security jump on the apron to provide a distraction and Rollins takes control of the match. Rollins gets Ambrose in a headlock, but Ambrose fights his way out of it. Rollins slams Ambrose down to the mat again and goes for the cover, but Ambrose kicks out at two. Rollins punches Ambrose against the ropes, but Ambrose comes back with a few right hands. Rollins comes off the ropes and takes Ambrose down with a flying clothesline. Rollins slams Amborse down to the mat again, but Ambrose gets back to his feet. Ambrose takes Rollins down with a couple clotheslines. Ambrose rolls Rollins up and gets a near-fall, and then they exchange near-falls. Ambrose takes Rollins down with a face-buster and goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Ambrose smashes Rollins in the corner and goes for the running bulldog, but J&J pull Rollins out of the ring. Ambrose comes through the ropes and sends Rollins and himself over the announce table. Back in the ring, Rollins goes for a pin with his feet on the ropes, but the referee sees it. Ambrose knocks J&J down and Rollins connects with a kick and goes for the cover, but Ambrose kicks out at two. Rollins goes up top, but Ambrose cuts him off. Both men fall to the outside. J&J and Kane stalk Ambrose, but he stops them. Rollins takes control and powerbombs Ambrose into the barricade. Rollins tosses Ambrose into the ring and goes for the cover, but Ambrose kicks out at two. Back in the ring, Rollins delivers a diving knee to Ambrose’s face and goes for the cover, but Ambrose kicks out at two. Rollins smashes Ambrose in the corner, but Ambrose counters and takes control. Ambrose drops Rollins with a tornado DDT and goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Ambrose dropkicks Rollins against the ropes and then goes for a leg drop, but Rollins moves out of the way. Ambrose comes back with a big clothesline and goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Ambrose drops an elbow on Rollins and goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Rollins comes back and slams Ambrose into the announce table and then powerbombs him in the corner. Ambrose comes out of the corner and clotheslines Rollins. Ambrose is up top and he dives out onto J&J and Kane. Ambrose goes up top again and dives, but Rollins pulls the referee in front of him. Ambrose drops Rollins with Dirty Deeds and another referee runs in and makes the count for the pin.
Winner and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Dean Ambrose.

After the match, the original referee gets into the ring and says Rollins pulled him in front of Ambrose. The decision is that Dean Ambrose wins by Disqualification.
Still WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Seth Rollins.

J&J, Rollins, and Kane beat down Ambrose, but Roman Reigns’ music hits and he comes down the stage and lays Rollins out with a Superman Punch. He spears Kane and Superman punches J&J. Reigns and Ambrose stand tall and Ambrose holds the title in the air. Ambrose grabs a microphone. He says he won this match and is taking the championship with him. Reigns and Ambrose leave through the crowd as Rollins looks on. Ambrose celebrates with the WWE Universe and we see a replay of what caused the disqualification. Elimination Chamber comes to a close with Reigns and Ambrose leaving and Rollins yelling at them.
