Why WWE Took Time Off the WrestleMania 31 Main Event, Longest Match, Who Had the Most Buzz?
– WWE’s WrestleMania 31 had over 1,000,000 Google searches back on March 31st, the most for any other topic. Coming out of the show, these WrestleMania stars had buzz on Google: Ronda Rousey (100,000 searches); The Undertaker (81,000 searches); The Rock (56,000 searches); Brock Lesnar (56,000); Triple H (52,000); Roman Reigns (48,000); Seth Rollins (46,000); John Cena (41,000); Bray Wyatt (22,000); Rusev (21,000); Stephanie McMahon (15,000); Randy Orton (13,000); Hulk Hogan (10,000); Daniel Bryan (6,000); Kevin Nash (6,000); Scott Hall (3,000); Dolph Ziggler (2,000).
– It’s worth noting that on a four-hour pay-per-view that had just seven matches, the longest match was 18 minutes and 34 seconds – Sting vs. Triple H. The next longest match on the main card was the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at 16 minutes and 44 seconds. The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the pre-show went 18 minutes and 8 seconds.
– Regarding timing issues at WrestleMania, the main event was supposed to go about 10 minutes longer than it did. The segment with The Rock and Ronda Rousey went 24 minutes long and officials were going to make up for it by taking time out of Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker but given how brutal the main event was going to be, they figured it was better to take time off that match because it would be better on Reigns and Lesnar.
