The SummerSlam Kickoff Show kicks off from inside the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California. We are joined by the expert panel, consisting of Renee Young, Booker T, Ric Flair, and Alex Riley. Booker says he is looking forward to Cena vs. Lesnar, Flair says he wants to see Orton prove he is the best, and Riley says he is looking forward to seeing which Hollywood stars are in attendance. Booker says he can’t call the main event, while Riley says this is a must-win for John Cena. We then transition into a video package for the feud between Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon.

We go back to the expert panel and Booker says to not sleep on Stephanie McMahon and then tells us that Ronda Rousey is backstage. We go down to the announce team of JBL, Jerry Lawler, and Michael Cole, and it is time for our Kickoff Match.


Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam

They tie up and Cesaro gains the early advantage and slams Van Dam to the mat. Van Dam comes back and monkey flips Cesaro out of the corner and then delivers a back elbow shot. Cesaro comes back and drives a knee into Van Dam’s midsection. Van Dam comes back and takes Cesaro down with a head-scissors take down. Cesaro rolls to the outside and Van Dam follows him. Van Dam takes Cesaro down with a big boot. Van Dam connects with Rolling Thunder on the floor. Van Dam tosses Cesaro back into the ring and then delivers a series of punches and kicks in the corner before Cesaro rakes his eyes. Cesaro takes over and stomps away on Van Dam in the corner. Cesaro slams Van Dam down to the mat with a gut-wrench slam as we head to a “commercial” break, which is a short Brock Lesnar vignette.

We’re back to the action, and Cesaro has Van Dam in a headlock down on the mat. Van Dam gets to his feet and goes to take Cesaro down, but Cesaro counters with a back-breaker. Cesaro goes for the cover, but Van Dam kicks out at two. Cesaro stomps down on Van Dam and goes for the cover, but Van Dam kicks out at two again. Cesaro goes back to the headlock on the mat, but Van Dam fights out. Van Dam takes Cesaro down with a series of right hands and a leg-scissors take down. Van Dam connects with the split-leg moonsault and goes for the cover, but Cesaro kicks out at two. Van Damn kicks Cesaro out to the floor and then takes him down with a moonsault from the apron. Van Dam tosses Cesaro back into the ring and then climbs to the top. Cesaro comes back with an uppercut and then goes for a suplex, but Van Dam shoves him down to the mat. Van Dam sets back up on the top rope, but Cesaro counters with another uppercut. Van Dam shoves Cesaro again, but Cesaro connects with another uppercut. Cesaro goes for another suplex, but Van Dam shoves him again. Van Dam dives, but Cesaro counters with an uppercut. Cesaro goes for the Neutralizer, but Van Dam counters. Cesaro drops Van Dam with a big boot and goes for the cover, but Van Dam kicks out at two. Cesaro slaps Van Dam in the face, but Van Dam comes right back and kicks Cesaro in the face. Van Dam goes up top and connects with the Five-Star Frog Splash and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Rob Van Dam.

We go back to the panel and are joined by some guy named Jake Tucker, who won a contest to appear tonight. We then transition into a talk about the match between Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. Flair says Reigns is great, but Orton is the veteran and will prove why he is the best performer in the world tonight. We then transition into a video package hyping the match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar, and that’s it for the Kickoff Show.

We go live into the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California, and “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan’s music hits and he comes to the stage. Hogan says he can’t think of a better way to kick of SummerSlam than with Hulk Hogan. Hogan says SummerSlam is the night when dreams are made, when mortals can become immortal, and where WWE Superstars can etch their name into history. Hogan says he knows we are all watching on the WWE Network, which we only pay $9.99 for. He brings up all of the PPVs that are coming up to finish out the year and includes 2015’s first PPV, the Royal Rumble. He asks, “What’cha gonna to when the Hulkster, the Hulkamaniacs, and the WWE Network run wild on you?” as his music hits and we see the opening video package for SummerSlam, which focuses on the main feuds and matches heading into the evening.


WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler sends Miz off the ropes, but Miz takes him down with a shoulder block. Ziggler comes back and takes Miz down and goes for the quick cover, but Miz kicks out at two. Ziggler goes for a shot to Miz’s face, but Miz rolls out of the ring. Miz gets back into the ring, but Ziggler takes him down with a Thesz Press. Miz rolls to the outside again, but Ziggler follows him and sends him into the ring post. Ziggler tosses Miz back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Miz kicks out at two. Miz comes back and sends Ziggler shoulder-first into the ring post. Miz kicks Ziggler in the face and keeps control of the match. Miz picks Ziggler up, but Ziggler comes back and takes Miz down with a few forearm shots and then a dropkick. Ziggler goes for the Fameasser, but Miz counters and tosses Ziggler over the top rope, but Ziggler hangs on. Ziggler gets back into the ring, but Miz catches him and goes for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Ziggler counters. Miz goes for the Figure Four now, but Ziggler counters out and kicks Miz in the face. Ziggler goes for the cover, but Miz kicks out at two. Miz rolls to the outside and grabs his Intercontinental title belt, but Ziggler goes out after him and kicks him into the barricade. Ziggler tosses Miz back into the ring, but Miz kicks Ziggler in the midsection and then locks in the Figure Four. Ziggler’s shoulder are down and the ref counts, but Ziggler sits up at two. Ziggler finally gets to the bottom rope, but Miz holds onto the hold until the four count. Ziggler comes off the ropes and hits the Fameasser, but Miz comes right back and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz goes for the cover, but Ziggler kicks out at two. Miz comes off the ropes and goes to kick Ziggler, but Ziggler ducks and hits the Zigzag for the pin fall.
Winner and NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: Dolph Ziggler.

We go back to this past Monday’s Raw, where it was revealed that Daniel Bryan had an affair with his physical therapist, Megan, and where Brie Bella was arrested before the night ended.

We go backstage and are joined by Todd Phillips and Brie Bella. Brie says she just sat in her jail cell and thought about all of the things that Stephanie has done and said to her, Nikki, and Daniel Bryan.


WWE Divas Championship Match: AJ Lee (c) vs. Paige

AJ starts off by biting the hand of Paige and then pulls her hair. Paige goes to the outside, but AJ goes out after her and slams her into the announce table. Back in the ring, Paige recovers and kicks AJ in the midsection. Paige tries to choke AJ over the middle rope, but AJ counters and kicks Paige in the face. AJ comes off the apron and gets on Paige’s shoulders, but Paige slams her down onto the top of the barricade. Paige tosses AJ back into the ring and slams her head against the mat a few times. Paige gets AJ in a headlock and then slams her down to the mat. Paige places AJ over the middle rope and delivers a series of knees to AJ’s face. Paige gets AJ on the top rope, but AJ fights back with shots to the midsection, which causes Paige to fall to the floor. Paige gets to her feet, but AJ takes her down with a clothesline from the top rope. AJ tosses Paige back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Paige kicks out at two. AJ comes off the ropes, but Paige delivers a stiff kick to AJ’s face. Paige picks AJ up, but AJ counters and locks in the Black Widow submission hold. Paige counters out and drops AJ with the Rampaige and gets the pin fall.
Winner and NEW WWE Divas Champion: Paige.

After the match, Paige grabs the title and skips around the ring.

We see the Sting vignette for WWE2K15.


Flag Match: Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) vs. Rusev (w/Lana)

Rusev attacks Swagger before the bell rings, and the American flag hits the mat as JBL says “Get the damn flag up!” Swagger locks in the Patriot Lock on Rusev, but they are finally pulled apart as Lana yells at Swagger. Rusev says his ankle is hurt and Lana says he cannot go. The referee rings the bell anyway, and Swagger charges into the corner and beats down Rusev. Swagger goes to work on Rusev’s injured leg and ankle, but Rusev makes it to the outside. Swagger goes after him and tosses him back into the ring and works over the leg and ankle again. Rusev rolls to the outside and tosses him back into the ring again. Rusev rolls out again, but Swagger takes him down with a huge clothesline. Swagger tosses Rusev back into the ring and goes for the Swagger Bomb, but Rusev gets his knees up for the counter. Rusev stomps away on Swagger, but grabs his ankle after each kick. Rusev squashes Swagger against the ropes and then locks him in a bear-hug. Swagger tried a belly-to-belly counter, but he is unable to pull it off. Rusev sits down on Swagger’s back a few times, but then Swagger counters with the belly-to-belly suplex. Swagger connects with a series of right hands and then clotheslines Rusev down to the mat. Swagger splashes Rusev in the corner and takes him down with a big boot. Swagger connects with the Swagger Bomb and goes for the cover, but Rusev kicks out at two. Swagger picks Rusev’s ankle, but Rusev rolls out. Swagger slams Rusev down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Rusev kicks out at two. Rusev kicks Swagger in the midsection and then in the face. Rusev locks in a modified Accolade, but Swagger rolls through and locks in the Patriot Lock, but Rusev counters and kicks Swagger in the head and midsection. Rusev with a heel kick to Swagger’s head and then connects with a big splash. Rusev locks in the Accolade now and Swagger begins to fade and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner via referee stoppage: Rusev.


Lumberjack Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

Ambrose and Rollins begin with an all-out brawl in the middle of the ring before Ambrose takes control. Ambrose slams Rollins face-first into the mat and then drags his face across the top rope. Rollins tosses Ambrose to the outside, and Ambrose fights off the lumberjacks and gets back into the ring. Rollins tosses Ambrose out again, and this time the lumberjacks stomp away on Ambrose before tossing him back into the ring. Rollins goes for the cover, but Ambrose kicks out at two. Ambrose comes back and gets on the top rope, but Rollins cuts him off and stomps away on him in the corner. Rollins drags his arm across Ambrose’s face and then locks in a submission. Ambrose fights out and takes Rollins down with a series of forearm shots. Rollins tosses Ambrose to the apron and Ambrose kicks Luke Harper away, but then Rollins launches onto Ambrose and they take out the lumberjacks on one side of the ring. Ambrose and Rollins try to go after each other as the lumberjacks try to keep them separated. Rollins gets free and charges at Ambrose, but Ambrose tosses him over the barricade and into the crowd. The lumberjacks toss Ambrose back into the ring, but Ambrose launches himself into Cesaro and other lumberjacks and then hops the barricade and gets a hold of Rollins. Ambrose and Rollins brawl in the crowd and begin ascending the steps to the higher levels. Corporate Kane storms to ringside and orders the lumberjacks to go after Ambrose and Rollins. The lumberjacks get to Ambrose and Rollins and begin dragging them back to the ring area. Rollins begins to leave the match again as the lumberjacks drag Ambrose to the ring. A group of face lumberjacks stop Rollins and they drag him back to the ring. Ambrose dives down onto all the lumberjacks and Rollins as they get to ringside. Back in the ring, Ambrose goes for Dirty Deeds, but Rollins counters. Both men come off the ropes and Ambrose takes Rollins down with a huge clothesline. Ambrose goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Ambrose drops Rollins with the Curb Stomp and goes for the cover, but Kane breaks up the count. All of the lumberjacks get into the ring and an all-out brawl is taking place. Rollins brings the briefcase into the ring and nails Ambrose with it. Rollins rolls into the pin fall for the win.
Winner: Seth Rollins.

We see the video hype package for the feud between Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho.


Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho

Wyatt and Jericho exchange right hands before Jericho drops Wyatt with a clothesline. Wyatt goes to the apron, but Jericho kicks him down to the floor. Back in the ring, Jericho takes Wyatt down with a cross-body from the top rope and goes for the cover, but Wyatt kicks out at one. Jericho gets on the top rope again, but Wyatt comes back and shoves him down to the floor. Wyatt goes after Jericho and delivers a series of knees to Jericho’s face against the barricade. Wyatt knocks Jericho down with a right hand and then knees Jericho’s head against the steel steps. Wyatt rolls Jericho back into the ring and delivers a few right hands to Jericho. Wyatt slams Jericho shoulder-first into the ring post. Wyatt drops to the floor and punches Jericho’s head against the ring post. Wyatt then smashes Jericho’s head against the ring post with a modified standing splash. Wyatt gets back into the ring and pulls Jericho against the ropes. Wyatt applies a submission to Jericho and then slams him to the mat. Jericho fights to his feet and fights out. Wyatt sends Jericho off the ropes, but Jericho counters with a kick, a few chops, and a forearm shot. Jericho takes Wyatt down with an enzuiguri and goes for the cover, but Wyatt kicks out at one. Wyatt gets back to his feet and drops Jericho with a clothesline. Wyatt splashes down onto Jericho and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Wyatt smashes Jericho in the corner and tries it a second time, but Jericho counters with a dropkick. Jericho goes for the cover, but Wyatt kicks out at two. Wyatt comes back and slams Jericho down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Wyatt delivers a series of elbows to Jericho’s face and then goes to the corner. Wyatt hangs upside down in the corner and then goes for Sister Abigail, but Jericho counters with a roll-up, but only gets a two count. Jericho applies the Walls of Jericho to Wyatt, but Wyatt gets to the bottom rope. Jericho goes after Wyatt again, but Wyatt tosses him out to the floor. Wyatt slams Jericho face-first onto the ring apron. Wyatt gets back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Wyatt delivers a headbutt to Jericho and then drags him to the corner. Wyatt gets on the ropes, but Jericho cuts him off. Jericho takes Wyatt down with a head-scissors take down from the top rope. Jericho goes for the cover, but Wyatt kicks out at two. Jericho clotheslines Wyatt in the corner and then dropkicks him in the center of the ring. Jericho sets up for the lionsault, but Wyatt does his creepy back-bend and Jericho is frozen in place. Wyatt tells Jericho he cannot die, because he is already dead. Wyatt charges at Wyatt, but Jericho counters with the Codebreaker. Wyatt kicks out at two. Wyatt goes to the outside and Jericho launches at him, but Wyatt delivers a thumb to Jericho’s throat. Wyatt delivers Sister Abigail to Jericho into the barricade. Wyatt tosses Jericho back into the ring and stalks around the ring. Wyatt delivers Sister Abigail in the ring and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Bray Wyatt.

After the match, Wyatt gets a microphone and says that Jericho found out what it means to follow the buzzards. Wyatt then leads the crowd in singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”

We see the video hype package for the feud between Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon.


Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

Brie and Stephanie tie up and Stephanie backs Brie against the ropes. Stephanie bends Brie over the ropes and uses almost all of the five-count to her advantage. Brie comes back and takes Stephanie down with an arm-drag. Brie follows it up with another arm drag and then she goes behind Stephanie with a waist-lock. Stephanie counters with an elbow shot and then she backs Brie into the corner. Stephanie drives her shoulder into Brie’s midsection a couple times and then kicks her in the midsection as well. Stephanie kicks Brie down to the mat and then slams her face-first into the mat. Stephanie delivers right hands to Brie in the corner and then tosses her halfway across the ring by her hair. Stephanie goes for a slap, but Brie counters with a slap of her own. Brie goes for the Yes Lock, but Stephanie escapes and rolls to the outside. Brie goes to launch onto Stephanie, but Stephanie counters and knocks Brie down to the floor. Brie gets back into the ring at the nine-count, but Stephanie drops her with a DDT. Stephanie goes for the cover, but Brie kicks out at two. Stephanie drops a knee onto Brie’s back and then drags her to the middle of the ring. Stephanie grabs Brie’s hair and then slams her down with a modified neck-breaker. Stephanie goes for the cover, but Brie kicks out at two. Stephanie places her foot on Brie’s neck and stretches it out in a submission hold. Brie fights back and delivers a few boots to Stephanie’s face. Stephanie charges at Brie, but Brie counters with a Thesz Press. Brie takes Stephanie down with a clothesline, and then delivers a series of kicks to Stephanie’s midsection in the corner. Brie tosses Stephanie into the other corner and kicks her down to the mat. Brie kicks Stephanie in the midsection again and then slams her down to the mat. Brie goes to the middle rope and delivers a missile dropkick. Brie goes for the cover, but Stephanie kicks out at two. Stephanie tries to escape the ring, but Brie grabs her and slams her down to the mat as Triple H comes to ringside. Nikki Bella follows Triple H out and Stephanie goes for the Pedigree. Brie locks in the Yes Lock, but Triple H pulls the referee out of the ring. Brie Bella dropkicks Triple H on the outside of the ring and leads the crowd in a ‘Yes!’ chant. Nikki gets into the ring and cuts Stephanie off. Stephanie backs right into Brie, but then Nikki attacks Brie. Nikki helps Stephanie to her feet and then Stephanie delivers the Pedigree to Brie and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Stephanie McMahon.

After the match, Triple H gets into the ring and raises Stephanie’s hand as Nikki looks on from the outside.

We see some ridiculous video package for the Jake Tucker guy who joined the expert panel earlier on the Kickoff Show.


Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns

Reigns clocks Orton with a right hand and then backs him into the corner. Orton escapes and goes to the outside, but Reigns gives him no time and goes out after him. Reigns delivers a few elbows to Orton and then delivers a right hand in the corner. Reigns slams Orton head-first into the corner and then drops him with another big right hand. Orton goes to the outside again, but Reigns goes out after him. Orton counters Reigns and tosses him into the steel steps on the outside. Orton tosses Reigns back into the ring and applies a headlock down on the mat. Orton drops Reigns with a clothesline now and then poses for the crowd. Orton stomps away on Reigns’ hands and then his ankles. Orton comes off the ropes and goes for the knee drop, but Reigns moves out of the way. Orton tosses Reigns into the corner and charges, but Reigns counters with a big boot. Orton comes back and sets Reigns up on the top rope and delivers a headbutt. Orton sets up for a superplex, and he connects with it. Orton rolls into the cover, but Reigns kicks out at two. Orton applies a headlock down on the mat, but Reigns counters and applies a headlock of his own. Orton counters with a jaw-breaker, but Reigns comes right back and locks Orton in a headlock. Orton fights to his feet and drops Reigns with a side-slam. Orton goes for the cover, but Reigns kicks out at two. Orton applies yet another headlock to Reigns down on the mat, but Reigns fights out with right hands to the midsection. Reigns drops Orton with the Samoan Drop. Orton and Reigns exchange right hands and then Reigns drops Orton with a big clothesline. Reigns smashes Orton in the corner and then drops him with a right hand. Reigns goes to the outside and jump-kicks Orton in the face. Reigns grabs Orton and backs him into the barricade, but Orton counters and slams Reigns against the barricade. Orton delivers a right hand to Reigns and then tosses him back into the ring. Orton goes for the cover, but Reigns kicks out at two. Orton takes Reigns to the outside and slams him down onto the announce table and then into the steel steps. Reigns battles back and gets Orton back into the ring. Reigns sets Orton up on the ropes and goes for a superplex, but Orton counters out. Reigns drops down off the ropes and delivers a right hand to Orton. Reigns climbs back up and delivers a Samoan Drop from the ropes. Reigns goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Reigns sets up for the Superman Punch and he connects with it. Reigns backs away from Orton and sets up for the Spear. Orton counters the Spear into the Powerslam and goes for the cover, but Reigns kicks out at two. Orton slams Reigns down to the mat again and sets up for the RKO. Reigns counters and comes off the ropes for another Superman Punch, but Orton counters into the RKO. Orton goes for the cover, but Reigns kicks out at two. Orton goes for the Punt, but Reigns dodges it and comes off the ropes to connect with the Spear for the pin fall.
Winner: Roman Reigns.

After the match, we see a recap of the match that we just witnessed.

Michael Cole announces that SummerSlam will leave Los Angeles next year and return to the East Coast in the New York/New Jersey area.

We see the video hype package for the feud between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.


WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: John Cena (c) vs. Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman)

Cena charges right at Lesnar and delivers lefts and rights, but Lesnar comes back and takes Cena down to the mat. Lesnar picks Cena up and delivers an early F-5 and goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Lesnar stands over Cena and waits for him to get to his feet. Lesnar delivers a German suplex to Cena and then drops him with another German suplex. Lesnar drives his knee into Cena’s ribs and then slams him to the mat again. Lesnar drops Cena with a suplex, but Cena gets to his feet and backs Lesnar into the corner. Cena delivers a series of right hands, but Lesnar shoves Cena away and then delivers another shot to Cena’s ribs. Lesnar locks in a headlock down on the mat, but Cena fights back. Lesnar keeps control of the match with another shot to Cena’s ribs. Lesnar tosses Cena down to the mat and then picks him back up and delivers a series of four German suplexes. Lesnar goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two. Lesnar goes behind Cena and delivers another German suplex. Lesnar applies a headlock, but Cena fights back and delivers a series of clotheslines and then delivers an Attitude Adjustment to Lesnar. Cena goes for the cover, but Lesnar kicks out at two. Lesnar takes Cena down and delivers a series of rights and lefts and pummels Cena down. Lesnar delivers another series of German suplexes to Cena and finally releases after the third one. Lesnar picks Cena up again and delivers yet another series of German suplexes. Lesnar argues with referee Charles Robinson, and Cena picks Lesnar’s leg and locks in the STF. Lesnar fights out and delivers an F-5 and gets the pin fall.
Winner and NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Brock Lesnar.

After the match, Heyman and Lesnar celebrate his win as referees and trainers check on Cena in the ring as SummerSlam comes to a close.
