Pre-Show:
Matt Striker and Scott Stanford are on commentary for the Pre-Show. They confirm that the winner of the Santa’s Little Helper Battle Royal will go on to face the WWE Divas Champion, Eve Torres, later on tonight.
Striker and Stanford look back on The Big Show attacking William Regal and talk about the no-contact clause between Show and Sheamus. We go backstage and see Booker T walking up to Sheamus. Sheamus says he understands why Booker did what he did. Sheamus says he can’t get the image of Show smirking out of his head, and Booker tells Sheamus if he wants to get the smirk off of Show’s face, he needs to hit him with a chair. We then transition into a video package of the feud between Ryback and The Shield.
We go backstage and see Josh Mathews and Michael Cole. They are talking about the Slammy Awards, which will be presented tomorrow night on Raw, and they talk about how we, as the WWE Universe, can vote for them. They reveal that Brodus Clay has won a Slammy for Best Dancer and that Charlie Sheen won a Slammy for Social Media Ambassador of the Year. Jerry Lawler also wins one for Best WWE.com Footage. Daniel Bryan wins Upset of the Year for his win at the Royal Rumble and AJ Lee wins Diva of the Year.
Pre-show Match: #1 Contender’s (WWE Divas Championship) Santa’s Little Helpers Battle Royal: Aksana vs. Alicia Fox vs. Cameron vs. Kaitlyn vs. Layla vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Rosa Mendes vs. Tamina Snuka
All of the Divas come out dresses in some form of Santa outfit. Rosa is eliminated. The video freezes for a bit and some eliminations happen. The final five are Natalya, Kaitlyn, Tamina Snuka, Layla, and one of the Funkadactyls. Tamina eliminates Layla. Kaitlyn and Naomi eliminate Natalya. Tamina is eliminated and it’s down to Kaitlyn and Naomi. Eve gets involved and slaps Kaitlyn while she is on the apron, and Naomi knocks Kaitlyn to the floor.
Winner and #1 Contender for the WWE Divas Championship: Naomi.
We go backstage with Cole and Mathews again and they reveal for Slammy winners. Insult of the Year goes to John Cena. Tweet of the Year goes to Daniel Bryan. YouTube Show of the Year goes to Zack Ryder. Facial Hair of the Year goes to Daniel Bryan. Feat of Strength of the Year goes to Sheamus. Betrayal of the Year goes to The Big Show.
We see a video package highlighting the feud between Dolph Ziggler and John Cena and the pre-show comes to a close.
TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs
We have a 26-bell salute for the victims of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut earlier this week.
We see a video package of previous events at the TLC PPV, which transitions into a video highlighting the main feuds going into tonight’s show.
Match #1: #1 Contender’s (WWE Tag Team Championship) Tables Match: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs. Team Rhodes Scholars
All four men brawl in the ring before Mysterio and Sin Cara toss both Sandow and Rhodes to the outside. Mysterio and Sin Cara grab a table from under the ring as a “We Want Tables!” chant breaks out. Mysterio and Sin Cara slam the table down onto Sandow. Mysterio sets Sandow on the table as Sin Cara goes up top, but Rhodes makes the save. Rhodes and Sandow get rid of Mysterio and go to work on Sin Cara. Sandow and Rhodes go to slam Sin Cara to the table, but he escapes. Mysterio takes care of Sandow and Sin Cara takes Rhodes down with an arm drag. Sandow takes Mysterio down on the outside and Rhodes turns the table against Sin Cara. A second table is set up on the outside and Rhodes and Sandow place Mysterio and Sin Cara on them. Mysterio gets away and plants Sandow with a DDT back in the ring. Mysterio takes Rhodes down with a seated senton on the outside and Sin Cara takes Sandow with a hurricanrana. Sin Cara takes himself and Sandow down on the outside. Mysterio trips Rhodes into the ropes and connects with the 6-1-9. Mysterio puts Rhodes on the table in the ring and goes up top, but Sandow knocks him down. Sandow shoves Rhodes off of the table and knocks Mysterio to the floor. Sin Cara kicks Sandow in the back of the head and kicks Rhodes in the face. Sin Cara sets up to jump onto Sandow again, but Rhodes catches him off guard and puts him through a table for the win.
Winners and #1 Contender’s for the WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Rhodes Scholars.
We see a pre-recorded interview with The Shield. They say Ryback will be crawling around after the beating they give in and call Kane and Daniel Bryan a disgrace of a tag team. They say above all of that, they just don’t like them.
Match #2: WWE United States Championship Match: Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. R-Truth
Truth backs Cesaro into the corner and connects with a big right hands that plants Cesaro. Cesaro comes back with a right hand of his own. Cesaro locks in a headlock, but Truth fights his way out and rolls up Cesaro for a two count. Truth takes Cesaro down and locks in a front-face lock. Cesaro fights out and drops Truth with a slam. Cesaro delivers a shot with his elbow as a “USA USA!” chant breaks out. Cesaro locks in another headlock down on the mat, and then shoves him chest-first into the turnbuckles. Cesaro slams Truth’s head into the turnbuckle, but it doesn’t affect Truth and he comes back and takes Cesaro down with a few clotheslines. Truth connects with a kick to the jaw for a two count. A “Little Jimmy” chant breaks out and Cesaro connects with an uppercut. Cesaro hits the Neutralizer for the pin fall.
Winner and still WWE United States Champion: Antonio Cesaro.
After the match, Matt Striker asks Cesaro his reaction to the negative reaction he is receiving from the audience. Cesaro says he is the greatest United States Champion in history, and by booing him the fans are booing their own country. Cesaro says it’s appropriate since the citizens of the United States has no respect for their country, their neighbors, or themselves.
We take an inside look at the events of the Tribute to the Troops taping and see various soldiers sending Tout videos to their families at home.
We go backstage and Josh Mathews is interviewing Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler says Vickie Guerrero put his briefcase on the line to please Mr. McMahon. Ziggler says it’s not fair since his briefcase is on the line. He says it would be fair if Cena’s career was on the line tonight. Ziggler says Cena would lose his confidence as he watches Ziggler ascend to the top in 2013 and beyond. Ziggler says everything changes tonight.
The Miz’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring for an edition of Miz TV. He brings out his guests, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, and Drew McIntyre, The 3MB. Slater asks Miz where he gets off calling them a trainwreck, and he asks where they get off calling themselves a band. McIntyre insults the crowd and Slater says the Rolling Stones wish they could rock out with 3MB. Slater says tomorrow night at the Slammy Awards, 3MB will perform live. Miz thanks them for setting the bathroom break for the Slammys. 3MB turns their attention on the Spanish announcers. Slater says in this country, we speak American. Ricardo Rodriguez runs out to stop them, and they back him up against the ring. Alberto Del Rio runs out and takes out 3MB for a bit, but the numbers game catches up to him and 3MB beat him down. The Miz saves Del Rio. Slater tells Miz and Del Rio to find a partner and take on 3MB tonight. The crowd chants “We Want Ryder!” Miz says they will find a partner and the beating 3MB receives will be awesome.
We see a video promo of The Rock being at the Royal Rumble. We then go backstage and we see Kane and Daniel Bryan. Kane asks if they are all on the same page, and Bryan says he guesses because Ryback is harder to talk to than he is. Kane says whatever, and tonight bodies will be broken. Kane says if Ryback is hungry they will feed him The Shield tonight.
Matt Striker is interviewing Wade Barrett and asks him how confident he is going against Kofi Kingston. Barrett says he is extremely confident since he has beaten Kingston on numerous occasions. Barrett says the “Wildcat” will be neutered by the Barrett barrage.
Match #3: WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Wade Barrett
The match goes back and forth for a bit and Barrett takes Kingston to the outside. Barrett tries to slam Kingston into the apron, but Kingston leaps into the ring and then comes right back and takes Barrett down on the outside. Back in the ring, Barrett gets control and applies a submission. Barrett hits a back-breaker for a two count. Barrett goes to the ropes and delivers an elbow drop for another two count. Kingston comes back and delivers a few dropkicks. Kingston connects with the Boom Drop and sets up for Trouble in Paradise, but Barrett ducks. Barrett tries to take control, but Kingston reverses and hits the S.O.S. for a two count. Kingston pounds away on Barrett in the corner, but Barrett comes back with a big boot and then slams Kingston down on the mat. Kingston comes back and gets a small package roll up for a two count. Barrett sets up for the Bull Hammer Elbow, but Kingston counters with Trouble in Paradise for the pin fall.
Winner and still WWE Intercontinental Champion: Kofi Kingston.
We see CM Punk in a skybox and Heyman says “Fogettabout it” on an update on Punk’s knee. Punk is wearing a “Knees 2 Faces” shirt, mocking The Rock’s “Boots 2 Asses” shirt. Punk says these people just don’t understand. Punk says Ryback injured him to a point where he can’t compete tonight. Punk says Ryback is lucky that he injured him. Punk says he is the most dangerous man in the world and they want to put weapons in his hand. He says he would have shoved Ryback off of every ladder and driven him through every table. Punk says he has proven that Ryback is not unstoppable and nobody is going to take the WWE Championship away from him. He started 2012 as the WWE Champion, and he will end it as such. He says he is just getting started. This is day 392 of his reign.
Match #4: Six-Man Tag Team Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins (The Shield) vs. Ryback and Team Hell No
All six men brawl as soon as The Shield jump the barricade, as they entered through the stands. The Shield takes the early advantage, but Ryback quickly takes control of Ambrose in the ring. Reigns and Rollins get into the ring and triple-team Ryback. Ambrose knocks Ryback down to the floor with a dropkick. Kane places a ladder in the ring and The Shield triple-teams Bryan. Reigns slams Bryan into the ladder, but Ryback knocks the ladder into Ambrose and Rollins. Reigns grabs a chair and levels Ryback with it as Kane gets into the ring and chokes Reigns over the middle rope. Bryan gets into the ring and kicks Reigns in the chest. Kane and Bryan slingshot Reigns into the ladder and Kane gets a two count. Rollins comes off the ropes, but Kane catches him with an uppercut as Ambrose uses a chair on Bryan. Kane places Rollins in the ladder and smacks it with a chair. Ambrose gets into the ring and DDTs Kane onto a chair. Ryback comes back and slams Ambrose into the corner, but Rollins makes the save. Ambrose pounds away on Ryback and Rollins slams the ladder into Ryback’s midsection. Ryback comes back and slams Ambrose and Rollins face-first onto the mat. He slams them onto the ladder in the corner and smashes them on it. Ryback double-suplexes Rollins and Ambrose onto the ladder in the middle of the ring. Ryback sets them both up for Shell Shocked, but Reigns gets back into the ring and beats down Ryback. The Shield triple-teams Ryback and slams the ladder down on him. Reigns takes apart the Spanish announce table as they set up Ryback for the Triple Power Bomb. They drive Ryback through the announce table, as they have in recent weeks. Bryan comes back and gets a little offense in, but numbers game catches up to him. Kane gets back into the mix and fights with Reigns. Rollins smacks Bryan with the chair and he and Ambrose continue to double-team Bryan in the ring. Ambrose slams a chair down on Bryan a couple of times and he and Rollins set up a table in the corner. They slam Bryan into the table and then double-suplex him from on top of the table and down to the mat. Kane makes the save, but he gets double-teamed for his troubles. Ambrose and Rollins place Kane on top of the table, but he fights back and shoves Ambrose to the floor and clotheslines Rollins from the table. Kane chokeslams Ambrose on a chair and goes for the cover, but Reigns makes the save. Reigns spears Kane through the barricade on the outside and a “This is Awesome!” chant breaks out. Bryan locks the No Lock on Ambrose and then on Rollins before Reigns gets into the ring. Bryan locks the No Lock on Reigns as well, before Ambrose makes the save. Bryan tries to fight by himself, but The Shield keeps control. Ryback gets back up and takes control for his team. Ryback tosses Rollins onto Ambrose and they crumble on the floor. Ryback hits a spine buster on Reigns in the ring, but Ambrose gets back into the ring, but Ryback takes him out with a Spear. Ryback hits Ambrose with Shell Shocked, but Rollins and Reigns make the save. Ryback and The Shield fight up the stage area and they beat Ryback down with a chair and a ladder. The Shield sets up a table and put Ryback on it and there is a HUGE ladder right by the table. Rollins climbs the ladder. Ryback gets up and climbs the ladder with Rollins. Ryback pulls Rollins down and he crashes through the tables. Ambrose and Reigns double-team Bryan in the ring and they power bomb Bryan through the table and Reigns pins Bryan.
Winners: The Shield.
Match #5: WWE Divas Championship Match: Eve Torres (c) vs. Naomi
Eve backs Naomi into the corner, but Naomi gets out and delivers a few forearm shots to Eve. Naomi hits a pretty good leg drop and Eve rolls out of the ring. Naomi kicks Eve down to the floor and dances a little bit in the ring as Eve looks on. Eve comes back and drapes Naomi over the top rope. Eve slams Naomi’s arm onto the mat and works over her arm in a submission. Naomi comes back and takes Eve down with a head-scissors. Naomi goes up top and dives off, but Eve moves. Eve drops Naomi with a neck-breaker for the pin fall.
Winner and still WWE Divas Champion: Eve Torres.
We take a look back at the feud between Sheamus and The Big Show, including the no contact clause that Booker T put in place a few weeks ago. We go backstage and Matt Striker asks Show if Sheamus has any chance of regaining the title tonight. Show says Sheamus should have hit him on Friday, and got the match cancelled, because he has no shot and will be knocked out tonight.
Match #6: World Heavyweight Championship Chairs Match: The Big Show (c) vs. Sheamus
The match starts out with a brawl that Sheamus gets control of. Sheamus goes to the outside and grabs a chair. Show gets up and goes to the outside. Sheamus runs around the ring with a chair, but Show kicks it back in Sheamus’ face. Show chops Sheamus a couple of times and tosses him back into the ring. Sheamus comes back and takes Show down with a flying shoulder block. The two battle on the outside for a bit and Sheamus chases Show into the ring with a chair. Sheamus smacks Show with the chair a few times, and slams Show down for a two count. Sheamus goes to the top rope and smacks Show with the chair when he jumps off. Sheamus goes up top again and tries it a second time, but Show spears him. They go to the outside Show beats down Sheamus some more. Show tosses Sheamus back into the ring and connects with a knee to the temple. Show smashes Sheamus in the corner and tries to go to the outside, but Sheamus hits the ropes and knocks Show back into the ring. Sheamus drives his shoulder into Show’s midsection a few times in the corner, but Show comes back and delivers a choke slam for a two count. Show grabs a couple of chairs and tosses them into the ring. Show smacks Sheamus with one of the chairs and places it on Sheamus’ chest. Show splashes Sheamus from the middle rope, but only gets a two count. Show sets up two chairs in the middle of the ring and tries to slam Sheamus through them, but Sheamus counters and delivers White Noise on Show through the chairs. Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick, but Show moves and he gets caught on the ropes. Show delivers the KO Punch and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Show grabs a huge chair from under the ring and tosses it into the ring. Show smacks Sheamus in the back with the huge chair and gets the pin fall.
Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: The Big Show.
We see John Cena backstage when AJ Lee runs up, wearing her Cena gear. She apologizes and Cena says she doesn’t have to. Cena says he can thank her after he wins his match and she says she can’t wait.
Match #7: Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, and Jinder Mahal (3MB) vs. Alberto Del Rio, The Miz, and The Brooklyn Brawler
Del Rio and Slater start the match. Del Rio kicks Slater in the corner. Del Rio tags in Brawler and he takes Slater down with a shoulder block. Slater comes back and delivers a big kick to Brawler. Slater tags in McIntyre. Miz and Mahal get tagged in and Miz pounds away on Mahal in the corner. Miz drops Mahal with DDT. Del Rio drops McIntyre and Ricardo pulls Slater out of the ring. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Mahal and tags in Brawler. Brawler locks in the Boston Crab on Mahal and he taps out.
Winners: The Brooklyn Brawler, Alberto Del Rio, and The Miz.
Match #8: Ladder Match for the Money in the Bank World Heavyweight Championship Contract: Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena
They tie up and Cena takes Ziggler down with a shoulder block. There’s a stalemate and we hear “Let’s Go Cena/Cena Sucks” chants along with “Let’s Go Ziggler.” Cena takes Ziggler down with a hip toss. Cena gets Ziggler in a headlock, but Ziggler reverses and gets Cena in a headlock of his own. Cena monkey flips Ziggler out of the corner and they go to the outside. Ziggler drives a chair into Cena’s midsection. Back in the ring, Ziggler places the chair in the corner. Cena comes back and drops Ziggler with a face buster, and goes to the outside to get a ladder. Ziggler dropkicks the ladder into Cena’s face. Ziggler grabs the ladder and tosses it into the ring. Cena gets back into the ring and hits Ziggler in the head with the ladder. Back to the outside, and Cena tosses Ziggler onto the announce table. Cena gets the steel steps and rams them into Ziggler’s head. Cena grabs a table and tosses it into the ring. Cena sets the table up and goes after Ziggler, but Ziggler drapes him over the top rope. Ziggler locks the sleeper in on Cena and Cena climbs the ladder and they both crash through the table. Ziggler gets up and climbs the ladder, but Cena picks up the ladder with Ziggler on it and tosses the ladder to the floor, but Ziggler gets off the ladder. Cena goes for the Five Moves of Doom, but Ziggler comes back and plants Cena. Ziggler goes to the outside and looks under the ring. He gets back into the ring and Cena locks in the STF. Ziggler comes back and drops Cena down to the mat again. Ziggler looks under the ring again and grabs a table. He sets in up in the corner, but Cena comes back and slams him to the mat. Cena picks up the ladder, but Ziggler dropkicks him and the ladder flies out of the ring. Ziggler tries to slam Cena into the chair in the corner, but Cena stops him and gets some offense in. They get on the top rope and Ziggler shoves Cena off. Ziggler jumps off, but Cena catches him. Ziggler grabs the chair and smacks Cena with in. Ziggler tosses a broken table out of the ring. Ziggler goes for the super kick, but Cena countered and hit the Attitude Adjustment. Vickie Guerrero walks down to ringside. Vickie goes to hit Cena with a chair, but AJ takes Vickie out with a shoulder block. AJ uses Cena’s moves and takes Vickie out. Cena grabs a ladder and sets it up with AJ still in the ring. AJ shoves the ladder over while Cena is on it. Ziggler looks on in shock and AJ skips away from the ring. Ziggler sets the ladder up and grabs the briefcase for the win.
