Pre-show
Matt Striker and Scott Stanford welcome us to the Pre-Show, which is streaming live on YouTube.com. We then see a video replay of what went down between AJ Lee, John Cena, and Vickie Guerrero from this past Monday’s Raw.
Michael Cole is in the ring, and he calls out John Cena, who will address the entire situation. Cole thanks Cena for joining him to answer questions tonight. Cena says he wanted to wrestle tonight, but is instead speaking to a man who smells like raw sewage. Cena is asked if he has passed the torch to Ryback, and he dodges the question and says knows what Ryback is capable of. Cena is then asked what advice he would give to Ryback, to which he says he would tell Ryback to be careful of Punk. He is asked if he could beat Ryback, and he says if Ryback is victorious, he will be the first to challenge him for the title. He is asked what the biggest moment of his career is, and he said it would be the night when he faced The Rock at WrestleMania. Cena challenges The Rock to a rematch. Cena is asked that when Punk retains tonight, will be admit that Punk is the best in the world. He asks the crowd if he should admit it, and Cena says he won’t do it. He is asked if he could say one word to Vickie Guerrero what would he say, and he says “Silence!” This segment seems to be taking up the entire pre-show. The next question is from Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler asks him if he is ever going to man up and admit what he has done. Cena calls Ziggler out. Ziggler’s music hits and Vickie Guerrero comes out to the ring. She says Cena is mad because he got his hands caught in the cookie jar. Ziggler comes out and goes after Cena, but Cena tosses him right back out to the floor. Cena’s music hits to end the segment.
We see a video replay of the Sheamus/Big Show feud and then Striker and Stanford go over the card for the show.
We go backstage and Sheamus is standing by for an interview. He says people can consider him the underdog and he has never seen The Big Show this focused. He says he will Brogue Kick Show’s head off and will leave with the World Heavyweight Championship. We transition into a CM Punk video vignette to end the Pre-show.
Hell in a Cell
The pay-per-view opens up with a video package highlighting Sheamus and The Big Show, and then transitions to CM Punk and Ryback. We then go live into the arena, where Michael Cole welcomes us to the show. He is joined on commentary by JBL and Jim Ross.
Match #1: Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) vs. Randy Orton
Orton takes Del Rio into the corner and slams his head into the turnbuckle and stomps away on him. They go to the outside and Orton slams Del Rio into the announce table. Orton slams him into the ring post and tosses him back into the ring and stomps on his head over and over again. Orton uppercuts Del Rio into the corner and connects with some right hands. Orton takes Del Rio to the opposite corner and does the same thing. Rodriguez distracts Orton, which allows Del Rio to drape Orton’s arm over the top rope. They fight on the floor again before Del Rio gets Orton in the ring and goes for a pin cover. Del Rio works over Orton’s arm in the middle of the ring, but Orton fights out and takes Del Rio to the corner. Del Rio gets Orton in a submission in the ropes, but breaks the hold at four. Del Rio shoves Orton into the ring post and continues to work his arm over in the ropes. Del Rio drops Orton in the middle of the ring and goes for a cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Del Rio works over Orton arm again, but Orton fights out and rolls up Del Rio for a two count. Del Rio comes right back and works over Orton’s arm with an arm-bar take down for a two count. Del Rio gets Orton in another submission in the middle of the ring, but Orton fights out and connects with a few right hands. Del Rio gets Orton’s arm in the ropes again, but Orton tosses Del Rio down to the floor. Del Rio gets back into the ring, but Orton takes him down with a few clotheslines, before Del Rio reverses one into the cross arm-breaker. Orton gets to the ropes and eventually hits Del Rio with the back breaker for a two count. Del Rio gets control back and mocks Orton and goes for the RKO. Orton reverses and catches Del Rio in the middle rope DDT. Orton sets up for the RKO, but Del Rio reverses with a Backstabber, which gets a two count. Del Rio goes for the cross arm-breaker, but Orton reverses with the power slam for a two count. Orton back Del Rio into the corner and takes him up top, but Del Rio reverses and hits a double stomp on Orton’s chest. Del Rio goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Del Rio goes up top, and comes off very awkwardly. Orton knocks him down and goes for the RKO, but Del Rio counters. Rodriguez gets involved and hits Orton’s injured arm, and Del Rio gets him in the cross arm-breaker. Orton rolls through and gets a two count on a roll up. Del Rio goes for a big kick, but Orton reverses into an RKO for the pin fall.
Winner: Randy Orton.
Cole and JR talk about the AJ Lee/John Cena/Vickie Guerrero situation and JBL reminds us that Vickie has proof of the allegations and will reveal it tomorrow night on Raw. We then take a look back at the pre-show, where John Cena was interrupted by Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler. Josh Mathews is backstage and Vickie Guerrero walks up. Vickie says it is clear that AJ and Cena had an affair and she has pictures to prove it. Vickie invites AJ to come to Raw to defend herself in person. Paul Heyman walks up and asks Vickie to cancel the match against Ryback. Vickie says it is clear that Punk is scared of Ryback, even if he doesn’t admit it. Heyman says Punk isn’t afraid of anybody, and says AJ got what she deserved and tells Vickie she doesn’t want to mess up the great job she is doing.
Match #2: WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Team Hell No (c) vs. Team Rhodes Scholars
Bryan and Sandow start the match. Bryan takes Sandow to the corner and kicks him repeatedly. Bryan keeps control and tags in Kane, which prompts Sandown to tag in Rhodes. Kane takes Rhodes down and gets a one count. Kane keeps Rhodes grounded and tags in Bryan, who delivers a couple of uppercuts to Rhodes. Bryan drops Rhodes in the corner and kicks him in the chest. Bryan tags in Kane, who continues to work over Rhodes. Kane drops an elbow, which gets a two count. Kane sends Rhodes off the ropes, and Sandow makes a blind tag and he comes in and pummels Kane in the corner. Sandow connects with a chop block and tags Rhodes in. They double-team Kane in their corner and Rhodes tags back in. Kane fights out and knocks Sandow to the floor, but Rhodes takes out his knee. Kane charges at Sandow, but he connects with an elbow to Kane’s head. Kane comes back and tags in Bryan, who kicks Sandow down in the corner. Bryan comes off the ropes and clotheslines Sandow down to the mat. Bryan kicks Sandow in the chest in the middle of the ring, and tosses Rhodes to the outside and hits a suicide dive on Sandown on the floor. Rhodes distracts Bryan back in the ring, which allows Sandow to take control. Rhodes comes in and hits a running knee on Bryan, which gets a two count. Rhodes tags in Sandow, who drapes Bryan over the middle rope and gets a two count. Sandow keeps control and connects with a knee drop before tagging Rhodes back in. Rhodes connects with a knee to Bryan’s midsection and gets a two count. Rhodes tags in Sandow, who drops a few knees and goes for a cover, but Bryan kicks out at two. Sandow gets Bryan in a headlock in the middle of the ring, but Bryan fights out for a brief instant before Sandow takes him down again. Sandow charges Bryan in the corner, but Bryan trips him into the second turnbuckle. Sandow and Bryan make tags and Kane takes Rhodes down with a back drop. Kane clotheslines Rhodes in the corner and hits him with a sidewalk slam for a two count. Kane goes up top, but Rhodes catches him and goes for a superplex, but Kane shoves him off and connects with a clothesline. Kane goes for the choke slam, but Bryan tags himself in. Bryan goes for the cover, but Kane pulls him off. Kane and Bryan argue and Sandow takes Kane to the outside and Bryan backdrops Rhodes onto Kane. Bryan goes to hit a running knee on Rhodes, but he moves and Bryan hits Kane. Kane and Bryan argue on the outside and Rhodes and Sandow take Kane out with a baseball slide. Rhodes hits Cross Rhodes on Bryan in the ring, but Kane breaks up the count. Kane unloads on everyone and the referee calls for the bell. Kane clears the ring and he and Bryan continue to argue after the match.
Winners by disqualification: Team Rhodes Scholars.
We go backstage where Josh Mathews is interviewing The Miz. The Miz says it is up to him to prevent the apocalypse, because with Kofi Kingston as Intercontinental Champion, the bar has been lowered. He says civilization will crumble as we know it with Kofi as the Champion. The Miz says he will win back the Intercontinental Championship and save the world.
Match #3: WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. The Miz
The Miz slams Kingston to the mat and goes for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Kingston reverses and goes for Trouble in Paradise, which leads to a stalemate. The Miz keeps control before the referee pulls him off and Kingston takes him down with pounds away on him. Kingston sends The Miz to the outside and goes out after him. The Miz tries to send Kingston into the steps, but Kingston jumps over them and comes back at The Miz. The Miz catches Kingston with a boot and tosses Kingston back into the ring. The Miz gets Kingston in a headlock, but Kingston fights out before being slammed down to the mat by The Miz. The Miz hits a clothesline in the corner and gets a two count on a cover attempt. The Miz kicks Kingston in the midsection and and goes for another clothesline in the corner, but Kingston sees it coming and clotheslines The Miz down to the mat. Kingston comes back and takes The Miz down and hits the Boom Drop. Kingston sets up for Trouble in Paradise, but The Miz goes to the outside to escape. The Miz gets back into the ring and works over Kingston’s knee and leg. The Miz takes off Kingston’s knee pad and locks in a single-leg Boston Crab. Kingston reverses into a roll up for a two count. The Miz comes back and levels Kingston with a DDT for a two count. The Miz sets up for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Kingston reverses with another roll up. Kingston goes for Trouble in Paradise, but The Miz reverses and goes for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Kingston reverses again and hits Trouble in Paradise for the win.
Winner and still WWE Intercontinental Champion: Kofi Kingston.
We go backstage and Daniel Bryan and Kane are still arguing. Kane says Bryan was too worried about vegan candy that nobody is going to give him on Halloween, and then Bryan mentions that Kane wears a mask 365 days a year and Kane comes back with an Old McDonald joke. They both say, “I am the tag team champion!” to end the segment.
Match #4: WWE United States Championship Match: Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. Justin Gabriel
Cesaro takes Gabriel down and then slams his head into the mat. Gabriel comes back and takes Cesaro down with an arm drag. Gabriel keeps control and takes Cesaro down with a monkey flip, but Cesaro comes right back and knocks Gabriel down from the top rope. Cesaro hits a leg drop and gets a two count, but Gabriel comes back for a bit before Cesaro takes him down to the mat again. Cesaro delivers an uppercut, but only gets a two count. Cesaro locks in a submission and then slams him onto the top turnbuckle. Cesaro stomps on Gabriel’s chest and gets a two count. Cesaro works over Gabriel’s neck, and keeps him grounded in the ring. Gabriel comes back and gains control and delivers a big boot to Cesaro’s face. Gabriel goes up top and goes for the 450 Splash, but Cesaro moves and Gabriel lands on his feet. Gabriel launches himself over the top rope, but Cesaro connects with the uppercut. Cesaro tosses Gabriel back into the ring and goes for the Neutralizer. He connects and gets the pin fall.
Winner and still WWE United States Champion: Antonio Cesaro.
We see a Ryback video package to hype up the main event for later tonight. Afterwards, we see Heyman and Vickie backstage again and Heyman says he appreciates her cancelling the match and says he and Punk are leaving. Vickie asks who told him the match was cancelled. She says it’s still on and if he or Punk has a problem with it, they know where to go.
Match #5: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs. The Prime Time Players
Mysterio and Cara double-team Young for a bit and Mysterio gets a two count after a leg drop/moonsault combo. Young comes back and gets control of Mysterio and tags in O’Neal. O’Neal keeps control of Mysterio and he and Young double-team Mysterio. O’Neal goes for a cover, but Mysterio kicks out at two. Mysterio comes back and fights off both O’Neal and Young. Mysterio tags in Sin Cara, who comes in and takes O’Neal down with a cross body and gets a two count. O’Neal catches Sin Cara coming off the top rope and hits a back breaker. Young tags in and gets Sin Cara in a submission in the middle of the ring, but Sin Cara reverses and gets a quick one count. Young keeps control and back drops Sin Cara on the apron. Young tags in O’Neal, who keeps the control for his team. O’Neal stomps on Sin Cara and tags in Young, who gets slammed on Sin Cara by O’Neal. Sin Cara fights back and charges at Young, but Young takes him down with a clothesline. Young kicks Sin Cara in the back and tags in O’Neal. O’Neal slams Sin Cara down and gets a two count. O’Neal works over Sin Cara in the middle of the ring and goes for a cover, but Sin Cara kicks out again. O’Neal charges Sin Cara in the corner, but he moves and O’Neal goes shoulder first into the ring post. Sin Cara takes O’Neal down and tags in Mysterio. Mysterio hits the seated senton on Young and hits the DDT for a two count. Mysterio kicks Young in the head and Sin Cara dives onto O’Neal on the outside. Mysterio sends Young into the ropes and hits the 6-1-9. Mysterio goes up top and hits the splash for the pin fall. After the match, the trainers, referee, and Mysterio were checking on Sin Cara on the outside, but he appears to be fine and he and Mysterio celebrate in the ring.
Winners: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara.
We see a Sheamus/Big Show hype video.
Match #6: World Heavyweight Championship Match: Sheamus (c) vs. The Big Show
Show powers Sheamus down to the mat and pummels him in the corner. Show chops Sheamus and connects with some rights and lefts in the corner. We see Dolph Ziggler watching the match backstage as Show slams Sheamus down to the mat. Sheamus comes back and gets some offense in and pounds away on Show in the corner. Sheamus spears Show in the corner, but Show catches him and tosses him out of the ring. Show chops Sheamus on the apron and tosses him into the barricade. Show tosses Sheamus back into the ring and hits him with a side slam, which gets only a one count. Show keeps control and kicks Sheamus down to the mat. Show chokes Sheamus over the bottom rope and then tosses him over the announce table. Show tosses Sheamus back into the ring and drops an elbow for a two count. Sheamus fights back, but Show tosses him over the top rope to the floor again. Sheamus gets back on the apron and shoulder blocks Show down to the mat. Sheamus comes off the ropes, but Show gets a boot up and gets a two count on Sheamus. Show keeps working over Sheamus, but Sheamus comes back and pounds away on Show. Show catches Sheamus in a bear hug, and keeps control before Sheamus comes back with a DDT. Sheamus goes for the cover, but Show powers his way out. Sheamus catches Show in the corner and goes for this ten clubbing blows, but Show reverses and controls the match again. Show drops an elbow, but Sheamus moves and goes for the Cloverleaf, but Show powers out and sends Sheamus to the floor. Show goes to send Sheamus into the ring post, but Sheamus shoves Show into the post and they get back into the ring. Sheamus goes for a shoulder block from the top rope, but Show catches him. Sheamus goes after Show’s knee, and he takes him down. Sheamus picks Show up and delivers White Noise, but only gets a two count. Sheamus sets up for the Brogue Kick, but Show reverses and hits the WMD Punch and goes for the pin, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Show sets up for another WMD Punch, but Sheamus counters and hits the Brogue Kick, but Show kicks out at two. Sheamus sets up for the Brogue Kick again, but Show connects with a WMD Punch and he gets the pin fall.
Winner and new World Heavyweight Champion: The Big Show.
We go backstage and Eve Torres walks up to Booker, but he says he has to go check on Sheamus. Teddy Long walks up and he says she screwed over Layla and Kaitlyn and tonight they will do the same to her. Zack Ryder walks up and says everyone would like that. He is dressed as “the scariest witch in the WWE, Eve.” Teddy and Zack talk a bit and Santino walks in, dressed as Lady Gaga. Ron Simmons walks in, shakes his head, and says, “DAMN!”
We see Vince McMahon on his cellphone when CM Punk walks up. Punk tells Vince to call the match off. Vince asks him if he is lacking confidence in himself or if he is fearful or Ryback. Punk says no. Vince tells Punk to go out there and prove to everybody that he is the best in the world.
Match #7 WWE Divas Championship Triple Threat Match: Eve Torres (c) vs. Layla vs. Kaitlyn
Layla and Kaitlyn double-team Eve to start the match. Kaitlyn knocks Eve down on the outside and takes her back into the ring. Layla and Kaitlyn continue the double-team attack and they take her into the corner, but Layla rolls up Kaitlyn for a two count. Kaitlyn and Layla go at it before Eve gets back up, but she is taken down with a double elbow. Layla and Kaitlyn go at it again, and they swap roll ups in the middle of the ring. Eve finally gets back into the match and takes Layla to the outside. Eve gets Kaitlyn in a submission before turning her attention to Layla. Layla comes back and pounds away on Eve in the corner. Layla gets a pin attempt on Eve, but she kicks out at two. Kaitlyn gets back into the ring and slams Eve and Layla’s heads together and gets Layla in an arm bar. Kaitlyn sends Layla off the ropes, but Layla comes back with a kick. Layla goes for a pin, but Eve breaks it up. Eve goes for a cover as well, but Layla breaks it up. Kaitlyn connects with a bulldog on Eve and slams Layla down, but Eve breaks up the count and pins Layla herself.
Winner and still WWE Divas Champion: Eve Torres.
We go backstage and The Big Show is celebrating his title win. He says no more 45 second title reigns. He has reached the top and is going to stay there for a long time. He dares anyone to try to come take it from him. We see Sheamus in the medical room and Matt Striker says there is no update on his condition.
We see a CM Punk/Ryback video hype package, as the main event is next.
Match #8: WWE Championship Hell in a Cell Match: CM Punk (c) (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Ryback
Punk gets out of the ring as soon as the bell rings. Punk gets back into the ring, but gets right back out. We hear Heyman say, “I believe in you; you’re the best in the world.” Ryback catches Punk and drops him with a big boot. Ryback slams Punk’s head into the mat. Ryback slams Punk hard into the turnbuckle, and Punk falls in a heap to the mat. Ryback tosses Punk from the top rope to the floor. Ryback goes out after him as Punk tries to rip the door open. Ryback tosses Punk into the cell wall a couple of times. Ryback stalks Punk and Heyman yells at him to show mercy. Punk gets a fire extinguisher and sprays it in Ryback’s face. Punk delivers some knees to Ryback and grabs a steel chair. Punk goes to hit Ryback with it, but Ryback kicks it right back in Punk’s face. Ryback tosses Punk back into the ring. Ryback slams Punk down to the mat and gets the crowd to chant “Feed Me More.” Punk trips Ryback up in the corner and goes up top. Punk takes Ryback down and goes up top again. Punk jumps off again and knocks Ryback down and goes back to the top. Punk gets Ryback down to a knee and goes up top again, but Ryback catches him. Ryback comes off the ropes, but Punk catches him with a heel kick to the face. Punk comes through the ropes and knocks Ryback and himself into the cell. Punk hits a neck breaker on the floor. Ryback comes back and charges at Punk, but Punk moves and Ryback goes shoulder first into the steel steps. Punk gets Ryback in a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring, but Ryback powers out and slams Punk to the mat. Ryback charges Punk in the corner, but Punk moves and Ryback goes shoulder first into the ring post. Punk hits the running knee in the corner and the clothesline. Punk goes up top and drops the elbow. Punk goes to the outside and grabs a kendo stick. Punk nails Ryback with it a few times and Ryback is feeding off of the shots. Punk comes off the ropes, but Ryback takes him down with a clothesline and then a back body drop. Ryback stalks Punk and takes him down with the Meathook Clothesline. Ryback sets up for Shell Shocked, but referee Brad stops him and low blows Ryback. Punk pins him and we get a fast count.
Winner and still WWE Champion: CM Punk.
After the match, Ryback destroys referee Brad as Punk and Heyman escape. Ryback catches Punk as Heyman runs and tosses him to the cell, but Punk climbs the cell. Ryback climbs after him. Ryback catches Punk on the top of the cell and delivers Shell Shocked on the top of the cell. Ryback stands tall with a foot on Punk’s chest as Hell in a Cell comes to a close.
