The WWE opening promo plays.
A video package runs focusing on the Hell in a Cell structure. We then see a focus on Mark Henry defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton and John Cena defending the WWE Championship against CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio in a triple threat.
A graphic opening hits welcoming us to WWE Hell in a Cell. We go live to the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana where a huge display of pyro goes off in the entrance area. Michael Cole is the first to welcome us to the show. Cole is joined by Booker T and Jim Ross at ringside on commentary.
Christian is out first to kick off the show. We then see a shot of The Miz and R-Truth near ringside front row. They have tickets in hand. John Laurinaitis walks down and kicks them out of the arena. Laurinaitis calls for security and they escort Miz and Truth out.
Christian vs. Sheamus
Sheamus overpowers Christian in the opening minutes of the match. Sheamus with a headlock takedown keeping Christian grounded. Christian with a slap to Sheamus and Sheamus responds with a big elbow. Christian bails, Sheamus chases him back in the ring and Christian drops Sheamus with another big slap. Sheamus with big forearms to the chest of Christian against the ropes. Christian jumps at Sheamus from the corner, Sheamus catches him and executes a quick fallaway slam. Sheamus goes up top and Christian throws him off. Christian with a flying elbow from the second rope that catches Sheamus in the chest. Sheamus counters a sleeper by Christian dropping back over Christian’s body on the mat. Christian with a knee and dropkick combo on Sheamus. Sheamus with a quick powerslam on Christian. Christian drops Sheamus back first off the ropes. Christian jumps from the corner, Sheamus catches him and executes a quick backbreaker over his knee. Sheamus cuts off Christian up on the top rope. Christian jumps down and kicks Sheamus in the face near the corner. Christian with a big tornado DDT on Sheamus. Christian gets a two count. Sheamus counters a Killswitch attempt. Sheamus pulls himself up to the top rope sitting down in the corner and connects with a flying shoulder block. Big pop from the crowd for that. Christian avoids a Brogue Kick. Sheamus with a shoulder to the gut of Christian from the ring apron. Christian drops Sheamus off the ring apron, Sheamus counters a baseball slide and throws Christian to the mat on the outside. Christian with a Spear on Sheamus on the outside. Christian rolls back in with the referee starting the count. Sheamus rolls in at 8. Christian with another Spear, hook of the leg and Sheamus kicks out. Sheamus avoids a flying headbutt from Christian and gets him up for the Celtic Cross. Christian drops down, Sheamus side steps another Spear attempt and catches him with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus covers and gets the pinfall.
Winner: Sheamus
Backstage, Matt Striker is with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry. Henry tells Striker to shut up. He mocks Striker’s voice saying he knows he will ask about him never competing inside a Hell in a Cell. Henry said it doesn’t matter where he faces Randy Orton – Hell in a Cell or a back alley, “Randy Orton is going to join the hall of pain!”
Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara II
We will recap with Sin Cara and Sin Cara II to distinguish the two. II takes down Sin Cara and Sin Cara responds with a quick hip toss. II drops down Cara, but Cara responds with another hip toss. II powers down Cara, lifts Cara up and Cara flips backwards to the mat. II with a head scissors takedown. Cara responds with head scissors of his own. Arm drags between both and Cara leaps over the top rope to take out II. Cara with a dropkick to II through the ropes. Cara misses a moonsault on II. II with a quick senton splash back into the ring over Cara for a two count. Cara flips off the ropes and II barely catches him with a dropkick to the back. II with a big chop to Cara in the corner. II elbows Cara to the outside and then leaps over the top rope taking him out. II with another chop to Cara. II with a big forearm to the back and kick to the back combo. Both men collide in the middle of the ring. Crowd in New Orleans is not enjoying this match. Cara with a few kicks and head scissors takedown on II. Cara jumps off the top rope and takes out II with a big splash. Back in the ring, Cara with a rollup on II for a two count. II with a sitdown powerbomb into a pinfall for another two count. II is up top. Cara cuts him off. Cara with an armdrag on II to the mat with force. Cara with a kick to the head of II from the ring apron. Cara goes up top, misses a senton splash, rolls through a counter by II and into rollup for the win.
Winner: Sin Cara
After the match, Michael Cole made it clear that what this means is that Sin Cara can now refer to himself as the only Sin Cara.
Backstage, David Otunga walks up to CM Punk. Otunga asks if they can talk. Punk says no. Otunga says Punk should listen to what he has to say. Punk said he doesn’t need some guy from Harvard representing him and that he hates lawyers. Otunga says if he wins the WWE Championship tonight he might feel different. Punk tells him to vanish.
WWE Tag Team Championships
Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne (c’s) vs. WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger w/ Vickie Guerrero
We start with Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger. Kingston drops Swagger face first off the mat early on. Kingston with a few uppercuts and tag to Evan Bourne who jumps off the chest of Swagger after being held up by Kingston. Tag to Dolph Ziggler who takes some big kicks from Bourne. Tag to Kingston who elbows Ziggler in the corner. Quick tag back to Bourne as Air Boom double team Ziggler with Bourne connecting with a head scissors takedown. Tag to Swagger who kicks Bourne in the gut. Swagger pulls Bourne from the corner and slams him down hard in the middle of the ring. Tag to Ziggler who drops a quick elbow over Bourne. Hot tag to Kingston who is dumped to the outside when Swagger pushes down the middle rope with his knee. Ziggler applies a headlock to keep Kingston grounded. Ziggler looks back at Bourne yelling, “You ain’t getting in here boy!” Ziggler then dropkicks Kingston. Ziggler distracts the ref allowing Swagger to get in a cheap shot. Tag to Swagger who applies a guillotine choke. Ziggler with stomps to Kingston with Swagger distracting the referee. Tag to Ziggler who starts kicking Kingston in the corner. Tag to Swagger who gets the ankle lock applied, but Kingston breaks free. Kingston with a quick DDT on Swagger. Both men are down. Hot tags to Bourne and Ziggler. Bourne with a series of kicks to Ziggler including one to the head. Bourne knocks Swagger off the ring apron and Bourne connects with his flying knees to the chest on Ziggler, hooks the leg and gets a very close two count. Bourne counters a fameasser by Ziggler into a standing moonsault. Swagger is in applying the ankle lock. Kingston breaks it up with a cross-body. Ziggler with the Zig Zag on Kingston. Bourne rolls up Ziggler and gets a two count. Ziggler with a clothesline that drops Bourne. Tag to Swagger. Ziggler puts Bourne on the shoulders of Swagger up on the top rope. Ziggler goes to assist, but Bourne counters into a huricanrana into a pinfall. Kingston holds Ziggler back by his leg and Bourne gets the pinfall on Swagger.

After the match, Vickie Guerrero is shown yelling at Jack Swagger.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Hell in a Cell Match
Mark Henry (c) vs. Randy Orton
We get ring introductions for the challenger Randy Orton and champion Mark Henry. We see a shot of the referee locking the door to the cell. The bell rings and Orton goes after Henry right away. Henry tries sending Orton head first into the side of the cell, but Orton counters and sends Henry into it instead. Orton levels Henry with a big clothesline and tosses him back in the ring. Henry pulls Orton’s shoulder against the steel ring post. Henry then fights back sending Orton into the cell multiple times. Back in the ring, Henry plants Orton with a big powerslam. Henry does the same to Orton on the outside floor as well. Henry tosses Orton into the side of the cell once again. Henry then picks up the top part of the steel steps, put Orton up against the cell, backed up a few feet and launched the steps at Orton. Orton quickly moves out of the way as the steps bounce off the side of the cell. Wow, what a sight that was. Henry then sends Orton face first into the cell and yells, “Welcome to my Hell!” Back in the ring, Henry connects with a body splash over Orton, hooks the leg and Orton gets a shoulder up after the two count. Henry argues with the ref. Henry picks up Orton and drops him over his knee. Henry applies a bearhug on Orton in the middle of the ring. Henry then lifts Orton up and slams him in the corner. On the outside, Henry attempts to slam Orton over the bottom part of the steel steps. When Henry lifts up Orton, Orton grabs the cell and starts climbing up. Orton drops back down kicking Henry and then giving him a DDT over the steps. Orton starts sending Henry into the steel ring post and Henry rolls back in the ring. Orton with a Lou Thesz Press on Henry followed with right hands. Orton with a big dropkick that drops Henry. Orton with a DDT on Henry through the ropes. Orton is calling for the RKO. Henry is up. Orton jumps and connects with the RKO. Henry kicks out after two. Orton is shocked. Orton stands up and backs up to the corner. Henry is just starting to recover getting on his knees. Orton runs at Henry, Henry leaps up, catches Orton and connects with the World’s Strongest Slam out of no where! Henry hooks the leg of Orton and gets the pinfall.
Winner and still WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Mark Henry
After the match, Mark Henry holds up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and rolls out of the ring as the Hell in a Cell is brought back up. Henry then turns back, grabs a chair from under the ring and rolls back in. Henry gives Orton another World’s Strongest Slam near the corner. Henry grabs the steel chair and puts Orton’s ankle in it. When Henry jumps off from the corner, Orton pulls away and starts rolling away. Orton grabs the chair, hits Henry in the gut with it and cracks it over his back. Henry rolls out and Orton starts chasing him cracking the chair over his back. Orton cracks the chair across the chest of Henry. Orton with another shot to the back of Henry. Orton goes to hit Henry again when Henry kicks him away. Henry gets up and runs away. Orton throws the chair down and shows a look of frustration as the crowd cheers him on.
Backstage, Josh Mathews is with Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio said he shouldn’t be in a match this brutal tonight because he isn’t an animal or criminal. He promises John Cena and CM Punk that they will see a side of him they have never seen before.
Cody Rhodes is on his way out to the ring. Rhodes grabs a mic saying he knows many people are watching sporting paper bags. He said it isn’t even Halloween yet and he wouldn’t let most people here on his street. Rhodes said another thing that is ugly is the current WWE Intercontinental Championship. He puts the title in a paper bag and reveals the classic WWE Intercontinental Championship belt. Rhodes said he plans to honor past winners like Ricky Steamboat, Bret Hart, Randy Savage and Steve Austin – but he will wear it better and defend it better. John Laurinaitis interrupts Rhodes saying Triple H demanded he come out here that he will defend his title tonight. Rhodes’ opponent will be John Morrison.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Morrison
John Morrison with a rollup quick that Rhodes fights out of it. Rhodes is having to wrestle in his suit. Morrison with a quick headlock takedown. Morrison with another close rollup. Morrison rips off Rhodes’ shirt and throws it in the crowd. Rhodes tries to walk away forcing a count out when Morrison cuts him off and throws him back down near ringside. Rhodes gets in a quick elbow on Morrison. Rhodes wraps himself around the steel ring posts forcing a count out when Morrison kicks him in the back. Rhodes slides back in the ring and drops Morrison on his face. Rhodes grounds Morrison and applies a modified abdominal stretch. Rhodes is yelling at the referee that he shouldn’t be competing in a suit right now. Rhodes then applies the Figure Four on Morrison. Morrison fights out and connects with his rolling through suplex for a close two count. Rhodes counters a Starship Pain attempt in the corner. Morrison then stomps Rhodes in the gut. Morrison catches Rhodes with a big kick to the head. Morrison misses a springboard kick and Rhodes rolls him up to get the win. Michael Cole yells out on commentary, “Justice wins! Justice wins! That might be the greatest win in WWE history!” Rhodes drops out and yells out in victory.

Backstage, John Laurinaitis comes in Triple H’s office. Triple H tells him to stop making matches. Laurinaitis informs him that Miz and Truth are beating up talent backstage. Triple H and Laurinaitis go running down the hallway and see Miz and Truth beating up Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne. Security pull them out. Triple H said the next time this happens, “it is your ass!”
WWE Divas Championship
Kelly Kelly (c) w/ Eve Torres vs. Beth Phoenix w/ Natalya
Kelly Kelly goes on the attack on Beth Phoenix early on. Kelly with a quick splash from the top rope on Phoenix. Kelly attempts spinning head scissors, but Phoenix counters into a backbreaker. Phoenix follows that up with a few elbows. Phoenix puts Kelly in the tree of woe in the corner, gets in a few kicks and then a dropkick to the face. Phoenix with a snapmare and then applies a headlock stretching Kelly back. Phoenix then puts Kelly over her knee and starts stretching her more. Kelly with a close rollup. Phoenix with a suplex on Kelly bouncing her off the top rope. Kelly with another rollup attempt and Phoenix kicks out. Kelly with a neckbreaker on Phoenix. Kelly steps up to Phoenix’s shoulders, Phoenix shrugs her off, rollup, Kelly with a roll up and Phoenix breaks it up. Kelly counters out of a Glam Slam attempt. Phoenix backs Kelly into the corner and throws some big elbows. Kelly throws Phoenix face first into the corner a few times screaming out. Kelly handspring back elbows Phoenix in the corner. Kelly with a bulldog on Phoenix from the corner. Phoenix gets a shoulder up after two. Natalya jumps up to the ring apron. Eve gets involved and Natalya sends her into the ring barricade. Phoenix tosses Kelly into the ropes and kicks her down low. Phoenix gets Kelly locked up in the submission Natalya applied to Eve on Raw this past week. Natalya gets on the mic telling Kelly to scream. Kelly breaks free getting the bottom rope. Natalya then hits Kelly in the head with the mic with the referee distracted. Phoenix then hits the Glam Slam on Kelly for the win.

After the match, Beth Phoenix starts crying as she holds up the WWE Divas Championship in the corner. Natalya celebrates with Beth.

WWE Championship – Triple Threat, Hell in a Cell Match
John Cena (c) vs. CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio
We got ring introductions for the challengers CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio along with the champion John Cena. We then see a shot of the referee locking the cell door shut with Ricardo Rodriguez looking on from the outside.
The bell rings and CM Punk goes after Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio bails and runs away from Punk. Cena goes after Del Rio and he bails out of the ring once again. Cena jumps out and Del Rio is alone inside the ring when both Punk and Cena go after him. Punk and Cena take turns beating down Del Rio in the corner. Punk gets cheers when he beats down Del Rio and Cena gets boo’s when he beats down Del Rio. Punk with a quick rollup on Cena. Few exchanges between the two that ends with Cena on the outside. Del Rio dives through the ropes and almost takes out Cena. Punk then leaps over taking out both. We have a “LET’S GO CENA – CENA SUCKS” chant start up. Punk works over Del Rio in the corner and Punk leaves the ring grabbing a chair from under the ring. Cena hits Punk with a few rights. Punk jumps up on the steel steps daring Cena to run at him when Del Rio launches Punk into the side of the cell. In the ring, Cena catches Del Rio with boots to the face, but Del Rio fires back with a backbreaker. Del Rio grabs a second chair and sets it up in the corner. Cena with big body shots to Del Rio. Cena with his twisting powerbomb that plants Del Rio. Cena with the five knuckle shuffle. Del Rio counters an AA attempt, goes for his armbar and Punk breaks it up with a kick to Del Rio’s head. Punk with a reverse neckbreaker and DDT combo on both Cena and Del Rio. Booker T on commentary said Del Rio was out after the kick – only to see Del Rio stand right back up seconds later. Whoops. Punk is bleeding on the side of his back after being tossed into the side of the cell. Punk pulls a table out and sets it up near the ring. Punk jumps up on the ring apron and connects with a knee to the jaw on Cena. JR had to talk loudly over Booker and Cole to emphasize the running knee. Cena then sends Punk face first into the cell. In the ring, Del Rio drops Cena and then gives him a back suplex over the steel chair that was set up. The chair literally buckles when Cena falls over it.
Del Rio has Cena up in the tree of woe and starts choking him with his boot. Del Rio charges and Cena lifts himself up causing Del Rio to hit the steel ring post shoulder first. Cena starts standing on the top rope when Punk trips him up. Punk goes after Del Rio with a springboard clothesline getting a close two count. Punk with a sitdown suplex on Del Rio hooking the leg for another two count. Del Rio levels Punk with a clothesline. Del Rio has a headlock applied on Punk. Cena is back up and comes flying off the top rope with a leg drop over Del Rio for a two count. Del Rio with a backcracker on Cena. Punk drops Cena with a kick. Del Rio takes out Punk. In the ring, Punk and Cena exchange shots. Fans boo for Cena offense and cheer for Punk offense. Del Rio breaks up a GTS attempt with a chair hitting both Punk and then Cena. Del Rio cracks the chair over Cena’s back. Del Rio puts the chair on Cena’s chest, Del Rio puts Punk over Cena and the chair and jumps off the top rope connecting with a body splash. Del Rio covers both and both kick out after two. Punk counters an armbar attempt from Del Rio and launches him over the top rope to the steel steps. Cena with an AA on Punk, hooks the leg and Del Rio breaks up the pinfall. Del Rio with a kick to the back of Cena’s head. Del Rio covers and gets a two count. Del Rio with the armbar on Cena. Punk springboard splashes himself over Cena and Del Rio to break it up. Punk with the GTS on Cena. Punk hooks the leg and Del Rio pulls him out of the ring sending Punk into the side of the cell. Del Rio then sends Punk over the steel steps as well. Del Rio then launches a steel chair right into the knee of Punk. Cena with a rollup on Del Rio for two. Del Rio then grabs Cena and launches him into the side of the cell. Del Rio has a chair and cracks it over Cena’s back. In the ring, Punk drops Del Rio with a series of clotheslines. Punk is up top and drops a flying elbow over Del Rio. Cena is back in.
Cena takes out Punk with a twisting powerbomb. Punk with a kick to Cena’s head. Punk with a quick scoop slam. Punk is going back up top when Del Rio pushes him off. Punk crashes through the table at ringside. JR brings up how Punk brought the table into play earlier. In the ring, Cena has the STF locked on Del Rio. At ringside, Ricardo Rodriguez knocks out the referee and grabs the cell keys. Rodriguez jumps up on the ring apron dropping a steel pipe. Cena knocks him off and gives Ricardo an AA through the cell door the floor on the outside. Del Rio then hits Cena with the pipe and tosses him out of the cell. Del Rio grabs the cell door keys and locks the door. Cena is locked outside of the Hell in a Cell structure recovering on the outside. Back inside the cell, Del Rio tosses Punk back in the ring. Del Rio with a german suplex into a bridge on Punk for a two count. Punk with a rollup on Del Rio for a close two count. Punk is sitting up top when Del Rio walks the ropes and hits him with a big kick to the head. Punk with kicks to Del Rio’s body. Punk with a leg lariat that drops Del Rio. Cena is up and is trying to get back inside the cell, but the door is locked shut. Cena starts looking for the key on Ricardo’s body. Cena is now trying to force open the cell door. Punk drops Del Rio in the ring and Del Rio rolls out grabbing the steel pipe. Del Rio hits Punk in the head with it. He then hits the side of the cell in front of Cena. Back in the ring, Punk somehow recovers going for the GTS when Del Rio starts hitting Punk with the pipe. Del Rio with one more shot using the pipe and he covers Punk to get the win.
Winner and new WWE Champion: Alberto Del Rio
After the match, John Cena goes after Alberto Del Rio when the Hell in a Cell is raised back up. The Miz and R-Truth then show up wearing black hoodies and attack Cena, Del Rio and CM Punk. The cell then lowered around the ring again. John Laurinaitis is seen talking to someone about bringing the cell back up. Triple H and other WWE stars come out, but are unable to get involved. Miz and Truth beat down all three men until a bolt cutter was used to gain access inside. Two policemen got inside and handcuffed Miz and Truth. They are taken out of the cell when Triple H attacks both throwing punches. Laurinaitis pulls Triple H back and Triple H pushes him away. Triple H goes back after Miz and Truth when everyone breaks it up. Security holds Triple H back as Miz and Truth are escorted to the back as the PPV goes off the air.
