Report by: Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com

The WWE opening promo plays.

A video package runs focusing on the “extreme” theme of tonight’s Pay Per View event and how Extreme Rules is the fallout from Wrestlemania 26.

A graphic opening hits welcoming us to WWE Extreme Rules. We go live to the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland where a huge display of pyro goes off.

After Josh Mathews did the introduction for the match, Triple H’s music played and he didn’t walk out. We see a shot of the confused announce team and then a camera heads backstage. We see Triple H on top of Sheamus hitting some big right hands. Sheamus eventually gets out, grabs a pipe and decks Triple H with it. WWE referees hit the scene and try to break it up. Sheamus hits Triple H a second time with the pipe. Triple H is out. Sheamus walks off and WWE referees attend to him.

WWE Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show and The Miz are on their way out to the arena. Miz grabs a mic and said it looks like this show didn’t start off like everyone thought it would. He said lets start off the show with some real exciting, the greatest tag team in WWE history, ShoMiz. Miz said they shouldn’t take his word for it, they should take Bret Hart’s word for it. He brings up how Bret Hart made a promise to call ShoMiz the greatest tag team in WWE history of he beat David Hart Smith, which he did. Miz asks the crowd to chant that along with him. The fans in Baltimore boo. He said tomorrow night live on Raw, Bret Hart will make that statement and they have no problem proving it. He said the only problem is they have a lack of competition so they begged, hoped and prayed to the WWE brass to give them some real competition. Smackdown GM Teddy Long walks out. Long said he has his hands full with what just went down in the back and it appears he has his hands full with ShoMiz. He said he has a team in mind to face ShoMiz tonight and if they win they will become #1 contenders for the WWE Unified Tag Team Championships. Miz said they aren’t scare and tells Long to head to the back to work on how he will screw up the Draft tomorrow for Smackdown. Long said he will add another team if Miz wants to keep shooting his mouth off. He adds three teams to the mix. Miz keeps mocking Long and Big Show puts his hand over Miz’s mouth. Long said if they can beat all three teams tonight then maybe they can call themselves the best. But if not, the team that pins them will become #1 contenders and get shots at the titles tomorrow night on Raw.
