Sunday, August 21st in Washington, D.C.
– The WWE promo hit. Following this, we go live to Washington, D.C. where Lilian Garcia sings the national anthem while members of the U.S. Navy look on from the entranceway.
– A video package then runs highlighting the events between John Cena & Chris Jericho for the WWE Title, The Undertaker & Randy Orton, Orlando Jordan & Chris Benoit for the WWE United States Title, Batista & JBL for the World Heavyweight Title, Kurt Angle & Eugene, Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero for the custody of Dominick, Edge & Matt Hardy and finally between Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels.
– A graphic hits the screen welcoming us to WWE SummerSlam. We then go live to Washington, D.C. where a huge display of pyro goes off in the entranceway. Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler & The Coach welcome us to the show at ringside and they pass it on to the Spanish Announce Team. The spanish team then passes it onto Michael Cole & Tazz.
– Chris Benoit’s music hits to start the first match.
WWE United States Championship Match
Orlando Jordan (c) vs. Chris Benoit
The bell rings and Benoit locks up with Jordan right away backing him to the corner. Jordan gets in a cheap shot on Benoit and Benoit comes with a big german suplex. Benoit then locks Jordan in the Crossface right away and Jordan taps out!
Winner & NEW WWE United States Champion: Chris Benoit
After the match, Benoit is handed the WWE United States Championship and he celebrates over his extremely fast victory over Orlando Jordan. Jordan leaves the ring and heads up the entranceway favoring his shoulder.
– Backstage, Eddie Guerrero is getting ready when his wife comes up. She said they need to talk. Guerrero said there is no more talking. She said this isn’t about Dominick tonight, it is about him being better than Rey Mysterio. Guerrero said it is about that too, but he cares about Dominck. She said he doesn’t care about him. He calls her crazy and said he needs someone to carry on the Guerrero legacy. She calms him down, kisses him and said she loves him. She said he is a wonderful person inside, but that person isn’t coming out right now becuase he wants to hurt Rey. She adds that he probably can’t beat Rey. Guerrero tells her to get out since she isn’t supporting him.
– Jim Ross highlights some injured American soldiers in the crowd tonight and those watching the show overseas right now.
– A video package runs highlighting the events involving Matt Hardy, Edge and Lita. That match is up next.
Matt Hardy vs. Edge w/ Lita
The match starts with Hardy and Edge brawling outside of the ring before the official bell can ring. Edge gets in the ring first and the bell sounds. Hardy tackles him and throws some hard rights. Hardy exchanges the punches a bit. Hardy jumps on Edge’s back and starts to choke him out. Edge gets the ropes with his boot and rolls out. Hardy follows and adds some more forearms to the neck and back. Edge crawls back in and Hardy nails him with some lefts and rights in the corner. Edge fights back with a headbutt to knock Hardy out. Edge then gives Hardy some stiff hard rights to the head. Edge backs up as Hardy stands up on the ring apron. Edge charges and gives Hardy a Spear right through the ropes to the outside! The referee gets to the 9 count when Edge rolls Hardy back inside to break the count. Hardy gives Edge a few more hard rights, attempts a hold, but Edge backs out of it. Hardy hammers away at Edge in the corner with some punches and forearms. Hardy attempts more hard rights up on the corner when Edge lifts up Hardy and Hardy hits the ring post face first. Edge rolls to the middle of the ring as Hardy is on the outside holding his face in pain. Hardy is busted open at this point when Edge punches him on the outside of the ring.
Edge throws Hardy back in the ring and continues to hit him with some stiff rights. The referee checks on Hardy who is even more busted open at this point. Hardy signals he is fine as Edge grabs him by the head and drives his knee into his face a few times. Edge follows these up with some stiff kicks to the face. Hardy collapses in the ring as the referee checks on him. Edge adds in another kick, the referee checks Hardy again and then calls for the bell stopping the match.
Winner: Edge
After the match, Edge holds his arms high in the air when he is announced as the winner. Edge then leaves with Lita and they stare down Matt Hardy who is still busted open heavily. WWE referees help a bloody Hardy out of the ring and to the back. The Coach adds that he doesn’t feel sorry for Hardy since he asked for the match to happen. A few replays are shown of the last kick Edge got in that caused the referee to call the match.
– A video package runs highlighting the events between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero involving Dominick. That match is up next involving a Ladder where the winner who grabs the papers hanging above the ring will gain official custody of Dominick.
Ladder Match – Winner Gains Custody of Dominick
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero
Before the match, Eddie Guerrero attempts to get near Dominick who is sitting at ringside, but Dominick backs off. When Mysterio came out, he shared a moment with Dominick. Guerrero then left the ring and got near Dominick and shook the hand of the social worker. The bell rings and Guerrero starts to walk towards Mysterio. Guerrero then gets in a knee to the gut on Mysterio and follows that up with some right hands. Guerrero nails Mysterio off the corner and then gets in a quick back suplex. Mysterio comes back with a monkey flip on Guerrero. Guerrero gets dumped to the outside and when Mysterio comes out, he grabs him and drives him face first into the steel steps. Guerrero picks up Mysterio and then throws him face first at the ladder that is in the aisle as well. Guerrero grabs the ladder and puts it in the ring when Michael Cole reminds the audience that Guerrero is 0-6 against Mysterio. Guerrero gets the ladder set up in the middle of the ring as Mysterio gets up on the ring apron. Mysterio then springboards off the top rope and dropkicks Guerrero off the ladder. Guerrero then grabs a second ladder and attempts to put it in the ring when Mysterio tries to block it. Guerrero still finds a way to get it inside and then gets in a quick kick on Mysterio.
Mysterio launches Guerrero to the outside. Guerrero grabs the second ladder from under the bottom rope, but Mysterio dropkicks it into his face. Mysterio then springboards off the top rope and takes out Guerrero on the outside! Mysterio gets back in the ring, starts climbing up the ladder, but Guerrero gets in and climbs up the other side as well. Both Mysterio and Guerrero exchange right hands. Guerrero gets his hands on the briefcase, but Mysterio punches him in the gut. Guerrero then drives Mysterio’s face into the top of the ladder platform, leaps up and attempts a sunset flip. Mysterio doesn’t come down at the same time Guerrero goes, but when he does he whiplashs off the mat with impact. Guerrero then takes the ladder and throws it at Mysterio in the corner. Guerrero grabs another ladder and does the same keeping Mysterio in the corner. Guerrero throws the ladder down and gives Mysterio a scoop slam on top of one of the ladders. Guerrero grabs the second ladder and sandwiches Mysterio in between both. Guerrero then gets on the ring apron, jumps over the top rope and takes out Mysterio with a senton splash. Mysterio gets up in the corner, but Guerrero drives a ladder into his face.
Guerrero then sets up the second ladder and starts to climb up it when Mysterio puts the first ladder against the second. Mysterio uses it to climb up with Guerrero. Mysterio then grabs Guerrero and gives him a back body drop onto the first ladder that is leaning against the second. When Guerrero hits that back first, the other ladder Mysterio is on tumbles over and Mysterio hits that ladder back first on his way down! Mysterio gets up first, sets up the ladder, starts climbing up, but Guerrero dropkicks him off of it. Guerrero grabs the other ladder and puts it on top of the turnbuckle. Guerrero goes over to Mysterio, but Mysterio kicks him in the gut. Mysterio backs up, charges, but Guerrero grabs him and launches him face first from a powerbomb position into the ladder! Guerrero then grabs the other ladder and sets it up. Guerrero starts climbing up when Dominick comes in the ring and attempts to shake the ladder. He is unable to shake it when Guerrero turns around. Guerrero comes down and starts yelling at him. He asks him why he doesn’t love him and Guerrero said he will learn to love him because he is his new daddy.
Guerrero was about to hit Dominick when Mysterio comes in for the save taking him out. Mysterio sends Guerrero face first into a ladder up against the ropes. Mysterio then hits the 619 on Guerrero against the ladder! When Guerrero falls back, the ladder stays on top of him. Mysterio springboards off the top rope and connects with a leg drop! Mysterio sets up the ladder and starts climbing up. Guerrero follows up with him and attempts the Electric Chair back drop when Mysterio counters that into a sunset flip off Guerrero’s shoulders! Mysterio then climbs up the ladder and gets the briefcase when Guerrero kicks the ladder way. Mysterio is holding on when he drops down and Guerrero catches him and executes a huge powerbomb. Guerrero then positions the ladder over a dazed Mysterio and uses it to pin him underneath. Guerrero taunts at Mysterio smiling as he climbs up the ladder. Guerrero has his hands on the briefcase, Mysterio starts to shake the ladder, Guerrero holds on and moves to the other side. Mysterio then kicks the ladder out of the way and Guerrero is hanging on. Mysterio brings Guerrero down by his leg and Guerrero shows his frustration smacking the mat. Guerrero then hits the three amigo suplexes on Mysterio, with the third on top of the ladder. Guerrero sets up the ladder and starts climbing up when Guerrero’s wife comes out. Guerrero gets to the top and she starts yelling at him. Guerrero yells at her to leave and she then pushes the ladder over, causing Guerrero to hit the ropes face first. Mysterio sees this, sets up the ladder, starts climbing up, Guerrero gets on his feet about to climb up when his wife pulls him away. Mysterio pulls down the briefcase and hangs on as the bell rings.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
After the match, Eddie Guerrero argues with his wife and what she did when Dominick comes in the ring and hugs Rey. Rey’s wife comes out and she hugs both Rey and Dominick. A frustrated Guerrero stays in the ring and throws the ladders across the ring. Mysterio then comes in and knocks out Guerrero with the briefcase.
– Backstage, Todd Grisham is with Chris Jericho. Grisham said he is just moments away from one of the biggest matches of his career. Jericho said John Cena’s “Time is Now” because the “time is now” for Chris Jericho to become WWE Champion. He said everyone can taste it and feel it tonight. Jericho said Cena’s “chaingang” will forget about him when he loses the WWE Title. He reminds that he beat both The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night to become the first ever Undisputed Champion. Jericho said Cena is not even in the class of Austin or Rock, but he is. He said tonight when he beats Cena and straps the WWE Title around his waist, Mr. Bischoff and the world can be proud of a RAW’s Champion.
– Eugene’s music hits and he comes out along with Christy Hemme.
If Angle wins, he gets back his Gold Medal – No Time Limit
Kurt Angle vs. Eugene
The match starts with Angle walking into the ring and slugging Eugene with a hard right hand right away. Angle punches and kicks Eugene in the corner with force until the referee breaks it up and backs Angle off. JR reminds that Angle has never lost a one-on-one match at SummerSlam as Angle tackles Eugene and follows that up with a few kicks. Eugene fights back with a spinebuster on Angle as the crowd boo’s loudly. Eugene then goes for the People’s Elbow when Angle gets up and takes out Eugene with a big suplex as the fans cheer loudly. Angle gets on top of Eugene and gets in a few hard rights. Angle picks up Eugene, hits one german suplex and then a release for the second. Angle drives his knee into Eugene’s face as the referee breaks it up. Eugene fights back with some punches and kicks as the fans boo. Angle comes back with a big german suplex, covers, but only gets a two count. When Eugene gets up, Angle throws him down and chokes him with his boot. Angle nails Eugene off the corner and Eugene fights back with some lefts and rights. Eugene then hits the Rock Bottom on Angle, covers…1…2…Angle kicks out. Angle dodges a Stunner, looks for the Angle Slam, Eugene counters and then hits the Stunner on Angle. Eugene covers…1…2…Angle kicks out.
Eugene then takes off his imaginary straps and applies the Ankle Lock on Angle. Angle sends Eugene face first into the corner and hits the Angle Slam. Angle then applies the Ankle Lock on Eugene. Eugene tries to fight out of it, but then has no choice but to tap out as the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Kurt Angle
After the match, Angle celebrates with his arms high in the air as a concerned Christy Hemme looks on. Angle leaves the ring and takes away the steel chair Lilian Garcia is sitting on. Angle comes back in the ring and throws Eugene out as Christy backs off. Angle sets up the chair in the middle of the ring and asks for his music to be played. Angle stands on top of the chair and the referee puts the gold medal around his neck. Angle raises his arms high in celebration smiling. Angle then leaves the ring and heads to the back with the gold medal around his neck showing it off.
– A promo for WrestleMania 21 is shown that will be airing on the WWE Fanatic Series in August.
– Backstage, Torrie Wilson, Maria, Candice, Ashley and Stacy are shown cleaning a limo that has the “President of the United States” logo on it. The window rolls down and it shows Vince McMahon. McMahon peaks out and adds, “Hey…why not?” The camera then shows a bumper sticker on the back that says “McMahon For President.”
– Back live, the arena goes dark as the loud “bong” hits. The Undertaker’s music plays as two huge lightning bolts strike the entranceway and light two areas with flames. Smoke fills the aisle as The Undertaker appears making his way to the ring.
The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
The bell rings after Orton’s entrance and here we go. Undertaker moves towards Orton who dodges him and leaves the ring. Orton walks back up the steel steps and gets back in the ring. Both lock up and Undertaker throws Orton down right away. When Orton gets back up, Undertaker smacks him and then throws him into the corner. Orton dodges a splash by Undertaker and then dodges another right hand. Orton gets in a side headlock on Undertaker after dodging another right hand by Undertaker. Undertaker takes out Orton with a shoulder block, covers, but only gets a two count. Undertaker takes out Orton with another shoulder block, but Orton comes back with a hip toss and clothesline on Undertaker. Undertaker then stops anything more with a huge big boot to Orton’s face. Undertaker covers, but gets a two count. Undertaker applies a lock on Orton’s shoulder, picks him up and then drives his body into his shoulder. Undertaker then backs up, climbs up the top turnbuckle, looks to walk the ropes to execute the “old school” spot when Orton grabs Undertaker and launches him off the top rope to the mat with huge impact. Orton then gets in some hard rights on Undertaker in the corner. Undertaker then grabs Orton, throws him to the corner and Undertaker adds in some right hands as well.
Orton counters a splash from Undertaker with a big boot. When Orton charges, Undertaker takes him out with another big boot. Undertaker covers, but only gets a two count. Orton misses a clothesline on Undertaker and Undertaker fires back with a huge leaping clothesline off the ropes. Undertaker covers Orton again, but gets another two count. Undertaker gets in a big right hand on Orton in the corner. Undertaker kicks Orton in the face on the ground. The referee tries to break this up, but Undertaker scares him off. Undertaker gets in big running knee to the gut on Orton in the corner. Undertaker adds in another right hand on Orton and follows that up with an elbow. Undertaker backs up, approaches Orton, sends him into the opposite corner, charges, attempts a big boot, but Orton ducks out of the way and Undertaker hits the corner with force. Orton kicks Undertaker through the ropes. Undertaker stays on the ring apron and takes out Orton with a high elbow when he approaches. Undertaker gets back into the ring through the second rope, but Orton grabs him and executes a quick DDT! Orton covers, Undertaker gets the ropes to break the pin. Orton then follows this up with some stiff drops to Undetaker’s knee.
Orton goes to the outside and continues to work on the injured left knee of Undertaker. Orton wraps it around the ring post and rolls back in taunting at the crowd. Undertaker tries to stand up, but can’t and limps on his left leg. Orton pulls Undertaker to the middle of the ring and gets in some kicks to the left leg followed by an elbow drop. Undertaker tries to apply a submission, but Orton breaks it up with an elbow to the nose followed by a jumping knee to the face off the ropes. Orton covers, but only gets a two count. Undertaker fights back with some right hands, but Orton bounces off the ropes and executes a quick kick to the face. Orton covers, but gets another two count. Orton backs Undertaker into the corner and Orton works on his left leg. Undertaker kicks Orton in the gut, favors his left leg after doing this, Orton sends Undertaker into the ropes and then executes a huge powerslam for a two count. Orton looks to apply a figure four leglock, but just puts pressure on the left knee. Undertaker reverses this and drives Orton’s left knee into the mat. Orton comes back with a charge to Undertaker’s bad left knee taking Undertaker off his feet. Orton drops his body over Undertaker’s knee a few times and Undertaker counters another by launching Orton over the top rope to the outside.
Undertaker places Orton’s body on the ring apron, walks up the steel steps, gets on the ring apron, jumps and executes a huge leg drop. Back in the ring, Undertaker has Orton by the arm, scales the ropes and comes down with a big punch to the shoulder. Undertaker drives Orton face first into the mat, covers, but Orton kicks out at 2 and a half. Undertaker lifts Orton to his shoulders, drops him down face first off the turnbuckle in the snake eyes, Undertaker goes off the ropes and Orton responds with a huge dropkick taking Undertaker off his feet! Orton stares down Undertaker as he stands up. Orton jumps attempting the RKO, but Undertaker pushes him away. Undertaker lifts up Orton, has him in the Tombstone, Orton reverses that into a Tombstone position, Undertaker reverses that into a Tombstone position, but Orton breaks out of that and hits a big inverted DDT. Orton hits Undertaker with some forearms across the chest. Orton goes up to the top, Undertaker stands up, Orton jumps and hits a flying cross-body. When this takes place, Undertaker rolls through it and then gives Orton the chokeslam! Then out of no where, an old man comes in the ring distracting The Undertaker. Undertaker then slowly picks up Orton, but Orton leaps up and executes the RKO! Orton covers…1…2…3.
Winner: Randy Orton
After the match, Orton celebrates the win and leaves the ring. He goes up to the old man and Orton tears off his make-up. It was Orton’s father “Cowboy” Bob Orton. Undertaker leaves the ring and chases both down, grabbing the mask that Orton tore off his father’s face.

– A video package runs highlighting the events between John Cena and Chris Jericho on RAW involving the WWE Championship.
– Before the match, Chris Jericho shakes hands with Eric Bischoff who wishes him luck.
WWE Championship Match
John Cena (c) vs. Chris Jericho
The bell rings as both Cena and Jericho stare each other down. Both get in each others face in the middle of the ring and Jericho backs off first. Both lock up, push away and stare each other down again. Both lock up again, Jericho applies a headlock and Jericho takes out Cena with a shoulder block. Cena fights back with some right hands and Jericho gets in a few chest chops as well. Jericho gets in a clothesline in the corner followed by a quick suplex. Jericho slaps Cena a few times and then gets in a spinning heel kick as Cena charges at him off the ropes. Jericho springboards off the top with Cena on the ring apron. When he jumps, Cena moves and Jericho hits the outside with impact. Cena tackles Jericho on the outside, throws him back in the ring and goes to work on him in the corner with some kicks and punches. When Cena charges at Jericho in the corner, Jericho hits him with a quick dropkick. Jericho gets in a chop and then kicks Cena in the corner a few times. Jericho then gives Cena a standing vertical suplex, covers, but only gets a two count. Jericho then applies a choke submission on Cena, but the referee breaks it up. Cena fights back with some forearms, but Jericho fights back throwing Cena to the outside. Jericho gets on the ring apron and when Cena stands up, Jericho takes him out with a dropkick.
Jericho chokes Cena with some cords on the outside, throws him back in the ring, gets in a few kicks in the corner and then places him up on the top turnbuckle. Jericho nails Cena with some hard right fists, climbs up, adds in some headbutts and then gives Cena a huge superplex from the top! Jericho favors his hip following the spot, crawls over, covers…1…2…Cena kicks out. Cena fights back with a big boot to Jericho from the corner. Cena then takes out Jericho with a high back body drop followed by two clotheslines. The fans are booing a bit every time Cena gets in some offense. As he comes off the ropes, Cena leaps at Jericho, but Jericho moves out of the way and hits the mat face first. Jericho gives Cena a bulldog, goes for the Lionsault, but Cena moves. Jericho then locks on the Walls of Jericho near the corner and Cena breaks it up by kicking Jericho through the ropes to the outside. Jericho gets up on the ring apron, peaks through the second rope, Cena goes up to the top and takes out Jericho with a big leg drop to the back of the head. Cena covers Jericho…1…2…Jericho kicks out.
Cena then lifts Jericho on his shoulders looking to hit the FU when Jericho counters that into a big DDT. Jericho runs over, hooks the leg, but Cena kicks out after two. Jericho kicks Cena in the chest, lifts him up and hits a quick backbreaker. Jericho drives his elbow to the lower back of Cena three times. The sellout crowd in Washington does a “LETS GO CENA-LETS GO JERICHO” back-and-forth chant as Jericho chokes Cena against the second rope. Jericho taunts at the crowd, goes off the ropes, charges, but Cena takes him out with a big clothesline. Both men are down as the referee starts the count and then get up soon afterwars. Cena gets in some quick lefts followed by a big right. Cena clotheslines Jericho two times followed by a big hip toss. Cena takes out Jericho with a spinning sidewalk slam, does the “you can’t see me” taunt, goes off the ropes, but Jericho grabs him and locks on the Walls of Jericho. The fans are going nuts in Washington as Jericho keeps it locked in with force. Cena reaches out at the ropes screaming. When Cena gets close, Jericho pulls him out to the middle of the ring keeping the Walls applied with force. Cena then somehow gets the bottom rope as a good portion of the crowd boo’s. Jericho kicks Cena on the head a few times, goes up to the top, Cena follows, Cena puts Jericho on his shoulders, Jericho jumps off and hits a back suplex on Cena. Jericho covers…1…2…Cena barely kicks out. Jericho attempts a bulldog, but Cena counters and throws Jericho up on his shoulders. Cena executes the FU and covers…1…2…3.
Winner & STILL WWE Champion: John Cena
After the match, Cena is handed the WWE Championship and displays it high in the air in front of the crowd in Washington. Cena continues to taunt at Jericho from the ring.

– A video package runs highlighting the events between Batista and JBL on SmackDown involving the World Heavyweight Title.
World Heavyweight Championship – No Holds Barred Match
Batista (c) vs. John Bradshaw Layfield
During JBL’s entrance, $100 bills with JBL’s face on them fell from the rafters. JBL walked right up while Batista’s pyro was going off attacking him. Batista fights back with some right hands and throws JBL into some equipment near the aisle. Batista nails JBL over the back with a fire extinguisher and then adds in some right hands. JBL fights back by throwin Batista back first into a case nearby. JBL then gets in some hard rights on Batista as they brawl through the crowd. Batista fights back with some rights of his own. JBL grabs a steel chair and nails Batista in the face with it. JBL then looks to nail Batista with the steel chair when Batista runs and spears JBL through the guard railing to tear it down! JBL fights back by throwing Batista into the ring post. JBL puts Batista in the ring and takes him out with a quick clothesline. JBL drives his elbow into the back of Batista and then follows those up with some stiff kicks to the back. JBL gets in some more right hands in the corner on Batista. JBL leaves the ring and grabs the belt from the timekeeper at ringside. JBL smacks the belt across Batista’s back. JBL then starts to choke Batista with the belt and Michael Cole reminds that this is perfectly legal.
JBL drags Batista to the middle of the ring and continues to choke him with the belt. A dazed Batista tries to fight back and then executes a quick side suplex on JBL. Batista turns over coughing and then grabs the belt. Batista then starts smacking JBL with the belt across the back and chest. Batista hits a big charge on JBL in the corner and then drives his shoulder into his gut a few times. JBL fights back with a big boot in the corner and a huge Clothesline from Hell off the ropes! JBL covers…1…2…Batista kicks out. JBL then leaves the ring and gets the top of the steel steps. JBL slides the top of the steel steps under the ropes inside of the ring. JBL takes the steel steps and throws them down near the corner. JBL grabs Batista, walks up the steel steps, gets Batista in a powerbomb position, but Batista counters into a back body drop. JBL favors his lower back when he stands up and kicks Batista in the face. When JBL charges, Batista grabs him and executes a huge spinebuster. Batista then does his “power-up” taunt against the ropes. Batista grabs JBL, lifts him up and comes down in the Batista Bomb! Batista leans down on one staring at JBL. Batista doesn’t pin JBL, stands up and then looks at the steel steps. Batista picks up JBL, gets him in the powerbomb position, lifts JBL up and executes the Batista Bomb on the steel steps! Batista covers…1…2…3.
Winner & STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Batista
After the match, Batista is handed the World Title and he raises it high while standing on the steel steps above JBL. Batista gets up on both corners and continues to raise the World Title hight in the air while medical officials attend to JBL who is still across the steel steps. When JBL leaves, he gets one of the $100 JBL bills and tears it up as he heads to the back.
– JR plugs that Unforgiven will be taking place next month on September 18th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
– A video package runs highlighting the events between Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels on RAW in the last few months airs. That match is up next.
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels
During Hogan’s entrance, a large American flag fell in the entranceway as Hogan posed. The referee keeps both separated as the bell rings. Both Hogan and HBK circle the ring, stop, stare each other down, HBK steps up first to lock up and Hogan pushes him down towards the corner. Both lock up again and Hogan pushes HBK to the corner yet again. HBk approaches again and Hogan knocks him down. A loud “YOU SCREWED BRET” chant starts up as HBK continues to avoid Hogan. Both lock up, HBK works on Hogan’s left arm and then counters this into a headlock. Hogan fights back with some punches to the gut, a headlock, HBK sends him into the ropes and Hogan takes out HBK with a big shoulder block. A frustrated HBK rolls to the outside as Hogan throws his bandana at him. HBK gets back in the ring, both lock up and HBK gets in a big knee to the gut on Hogan. HBK chops Hogan in each corner when Hogan walks away. Hogan comes back by launching HBK into the corner. When HBK hits it, he stays on the top and Hogan kicks him a few times. Each time he gets kicked, HBK gets higher and after the third HBK low blows himself on the top rope. Hogan then pulls HBK off and gets in some hard rights.
HBK fights back with a thumb to the eye on Hogan followed by some more chops to the chest. Hogan then hits a quick high back body drop on HBK and then clotheslines HBK over the top rope to the outside. HBK is a bumping machine for Hogan at this point. HBK stalls on the outside a bit and then gets back on the ring apron. Hogan uses the top rope to flip HBK back inside. Hogan takes out HBK with a big clothesline followed by some rights to the head. HBK comes back with a kick to Hogan’s face followed by some more chops in the corner. HBK attempts to nail Hogan face first off the corner, but Hogan prevents it. HBK then slaps Hogan. Hogan tries to attack HBK, but HBK dodges it and slaps Hogan again. HBK gets in some more chops to the chest, but Hogan launches HBK into the corner. HBK flips over to the ring apron and gets in a cheap shot on Hogan when he approaches. Hogan responds with a big right hand that launches HBK off the ring apron to the outside. Hogan then comes to the outside and nails HBK face first off the guard railing. Hogan then scoop slams HBK on top of the spanish announce table and follows that up with some stiff rights. Hogan breaks the count by rolling in the ring.
As HBK turns over the spanish announce table, Hogan sends him face first into the ring post. Hogan breaks the count again, puts HBK on his shoulder, charges at the ring post, but HBK slides off and pushes Hogan face first into the post. Hogan walks over to the opposite side of the ring and HBK pushes him into that ring post as well. HBK jumps up on Hogan and gets in some hard rights. Hogan pushes HBK away to the guard railing and makes his way to the other side of the ring. HBK pushes him inside and HBK rolls in as well. HBK gets in four punches on Hogan in the corner, but Hogan pushes him off. HBK jumps back up again and gets four more punches in until Hogan pushes him off yet again. Hogan goes to the other corner, HBK jumps up again with some more hard rights, Hogan falls down and HBK stays on him still putting in some hard rights. The referee breaks this up and pushes HBK away as Hogan sits up busted open at this point. A bloody Hogan stands up in the corner as HBK gets in some more hard rights. A dazed Hogan stands up and HBK takes him out with a hard right. HBK sends Hogan into the ropes and when he comes off HBK applies a sleeper. As HBK applies the sleeper, a large amount of blood continues to come from Hogan’s face and cover HBK’s right arm. The referee raises Hogan’s arm once, twice, but Hogan keeps it up after the third. Hogan lifts up HBK and executes a big back suplex.
The referee starts the count. HBK gets up first and takes out Hogan with a flying forearm. HBK flips up, climbs up to the top rope, attempts the flying elbow, but Hogan moves out of the way. A bloody Hogan blocks a punch from HBK, gets in a few, sends HBK into the ropes, but HBK takes out Hogan with a flying forearm and takes out the referee in the process. The fans in Washington chant “WE WANT BRET” as HBK flips up with a smile on his face. HBK looks to go up to the top, but comes down, grabs Hogan by the legs and applies the Sharpshooter. Another referee hits the ring as a bloody Hogan reaches for the ropes. When Hogan gets close, HBK pulls him out to the middle more still appying the Sharpshooter. Hogan actually taps on the mat at separate times and both The King & The Coach ask where the bell was at. Hogan then grabs the bottom rope and HBK breaks the submission. HBK grabs Hogan by the legs, but Hogan kicks him back and when HBK goes down he hits the referee as well. Hogan then gets on his feet and approaches HBK on the ground when HBK takes him out with a low blow with both referees down. HBK leaves the ring and throws a steel chair inside the ring. HBK has the chair in hand in the corner as Hogan gets on his feet. When Hogan gets up and turns around, HBK smacks the steel chair over his head. HBK goes up to the top, jumps and connects with the flying elbow. HBK attempts to revive the referee and then moves to the corner stomping his foot. Hogan gets up, HBK continues to stomp, HBK charges and connects with the Sweet Chin Music. HBK covers…1…2…Hogan powers out! Hogan starts to hulk up when HBk tries to get in some right hands. Hogan punches HBK three times, sends him into the ropes, hits the big boot, HBK flips up and flips back down. Hogan goes off the ropes, jumps and connects with the leg drop. Hogan hooks the leg…1…2…3.
Winner: Hulk Hogan
After the match, a bloody Hulk Hogan celebrates his victory with the fans in Washington. Hogan poses for the fans when HBK comes back in the ring and shoves Hogan from behind. Hogan turns around and taunts at HBK to bring it. HBK tells Hogan, “I just needed to know and I found out.” HBK extends his hand to Hogan. Hogan shakes HBK’s hand. Hogan claps for HBK as he heads up the aisle. The referee then comes back in and raises Hogan’s arm in the air. The PPV goes off the air with Hogan posing for the sellout crowd in Washington…
