Biography

– Grimes began his career at California’s APW
– On September 19, 1997, The Grimes Brothers (Vic & Dic) defeated Jay Smooth & Tony Jones to win the APW Tag Team Titles
– On October 3, The Grimes Brothers defeated Rick Turner & Tony Jones in a Best Of Three Falls Match to retain the APW Tag Team Titles
– On January 20, 1998, Grimes defeated Erin O’Grady at a WWF Shotgun Saturday Night taping as a tryout match. Both were signed to contracts shortly thereafter
– On May 1, Grimes defeated Maxx Justice to win the APW Universal Title
– On May 30, Grimes & Frank Murdoch defeated Tony Jones & Ed Moretti to win the vacant APW Tag Team Titles, but the belts would be vacated once again shortly afterwards, as Grimes was unable to defend them on a regular schedule due to his increasing WWF commitments
– Grimes was assigned to the Memphis-based Power Pro Wrestling in January 1999
– On March 20, 1999, Grimes & Erin O’Grady defeated Kid Wikkid & Derrick King to win the PPW Tag Team Titles
– On June 5, Grimes defeated Kid Wikkid to win the PPW Young Guns Title, but lost it back a week later
– On July 3, Grimes defeated Kid Wikkid & Robbie D to regain the PPW Young Guns Title
– Grimes made his WWF debut on the July 26 episode of Raw, portraying ‘Key’, the drug dealer for Droz and Albert
– Key wrestled his only televised WWF match on the August 14 episode of Shotgun Saturday Night, as he, Droz & Albert defeated Cody Hawk, Adam Keene & Anthony McMurphy
– Following an injury to The Godfather that called a halt to his current storyline, Grimes was sent to ECW for further experience
– At Living Dangerously 2000, Grimes was involved in the infamous incident with New Jack that saw the pair plummet 20 feet onto the concrete floor. Grimes landed on New Jack, causing Jack to suffer brain damage and permanent blindness in his right eye
– Grimes departed ECW in May 2000 and was released by the WWF in July
– Grimes had a brief stint with the short-lived Sekai promotion in September 2000
– Grimes began working for XPW in February 2021
– Grimes won the 2001 XPW King Of The Death Matches Tournament, defeating Supreme in the final
– In February 2002, Grimes and New Jack were involved in another infamous fall, with Jack throwing Grimes from a scaffold onto tables in the ring. However, either Grimes overshot, or New Jack pushed him too hard (depending on who you talk to) and Grimes nearly missed the ring entirely, landing awkwardly across the top rope and suffering numerous injuries, though he was lucky that the most severe was a broken ankle
– Grimes returned to action in April, though it was clear that he was not 100% and he would take a further two months off following this match
– XPW closed in April 2003 and Grimes returned to his former home of APW
– Grimes was involved with MTV’s short-lived WSX project in 2006
– Grimes left the wrestling business in late 2007
