– Modest got his first regular gig in California’s APW promotion
– On November 23, 1996, Modest & Steve Rizzono defeated Frank Dalton & Joe Applebaumer in the final of a tournament to become the first APW Tag Team Champions
– On November 30, Modest & Rizzono defeated Frank Dalton & Mike Diamond to retain the APW Tag Team Titles
– On December 13, Modest & Rizzono defeated Robert Thompson & Mike Diamond in a Best Of Three Falls Match to retain the APW Tag Team Titles
– On January 11, 1997, Modest & Rizzono defeated Robert Thompson & Donovan Morgan to retain the APW Tag Team Titles
