Biography

– Mizanin dropped out of college to appear on MTV’s The Real World in 2001 and would go on to appear in many of its spin-off shows
– Mizanin began his pro wrestling training at California’s UPW in 2003
– In October 2004, Mizanin entered season 4 of WWE’s Tough Enough competition. He would finish runner-up to Daniel Puder, but would go on to sign a WWE development deal early the following year.
– Mizanin was assigned to Deep South Wrestling in early 2005
– On November 30, 2005, Mizanin defeated Mike Knox in the final of a tournament to win the vacant DSW Heavyweight Title, but would lose it to Derrick Neikirk in a Loser Leaves Town Match in his first defence a month later. This was done in order to reassign Mizanin to WWE’s other developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling
– On February 8, 2006 in Louisville, KY, The Miz and Chris Cage defeated Chet the Jett and Seth Skyfire for the OVW Southern Tag belts.
