No Avoiding a Breakdown this Sunday

The WWF’s next pay-per-view is this Sunday, and will originate from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. For the second consecutive month, the show will start at 8PM Eastern, preceded by Sunday Night Heat on the USA Network.

In the main event, WWF Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin must defend his title against brothers Kane and The Undertaker in a triple threat match. WWF boss, Mr. McMahon, added a new wrinkle to the match last week on Raw. The Undertaker and Kane must defeat Austin if either is to become the new champion. This turns the bout into a handicap match. Expect some outside help to enable Austin to stunner one of the brothers, and retain the WWF title. The likely candidates who could assist Austin this weekend are The Rock, Mankind, or Ken Shamrock, who have formed some sort of an alliance against The Undertaker and Kane.

Nation member Mark Henry will challenge Intercontinental Champion Triple H for the gold. Look for Chyna to do everything in her power to avoid the title change.

In a six-man tag team match, DX, consisting of the The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac, will square off against Jeff Jarrett and Southern Justice. DX should be the victors.

Newcomer Gangrel with make his WWF pay-per-view debut when he faces D-Lo Brown, fresh off dropping the European championship to X-Pac. Gangrel should be considered the favorite, although, outside interference by Edge could play a factor.

Vader is scheduled to take on Bradshaw. The two started their feud on Sunday Night Heat, the night of the Summerslam broadcast from Madison Square Garden. It should be Vader time this weekend.

The Edge faces Owen Hart. Since the card takes place in Canada, expect Hart to receive a very favorable greeting. Don’t rule out Sable helping her Summerslam mystery partner in the match.

Val Venis squares off with Dustin Runnels. In the storyline, Dustin’s real life wife, Terri, the former Marlena character, is now with Venis. With Dustin’s career heading no where, expect rookie Venis to gain the victory.

Droz and Mark Mero are also scheduled to wrestle on the card. Jacqueline’s outside interference should be enough for the “Marvelous” one to gain a much needed win.
