Pro Wrestling Logic 101 - The Total Inconsistencies
Pro Wrestling has evolved from bookers, who purely served as the matchmakers, to employing writers who create storylines and develop characters. Despite having full time creative staffs, wrestling storylines continue to exhibit inconsistencies. Case in point:
Scott Steiner turned on Kevin Nash at the Bash at the Beach PPV, and cost “Big Sexy” Scott Hall’s coveted contract yet, “The Band” reunited a short time later.
If Norman Smiley never wanted to hold the Hardcore title, why would he agree to a title match? Not to mention that he could simply relinquish the championship.
If Vince Russo has a restraining order against Ric Flair, then why was the “Nature Boy” arrested for being in Charlotte for his son’s wedding? (Russo was not in the building)
Chyna turned on Chris Jericho to join Eddy Guerrero, yet remained a total babyface. Ok, not the writers fault, Chyna can seemingly do no wrong.
If Goldberg’s heel turn was the major surprise that Eric Bischoff gloated about for the Great American Bash, don’t you feel ripped off? Oh wait, you probably didn’t order the PPV anyhow.
Vampiro defeated The Demon in a graveyard match at the Bash at the Beach PPV, yet the two were together the next night on “Nitro.”
Since Val Venis was going to trim his hair, why didn’t the WWF save his new look until he became apart of the RTC?
Why would WCW re-debut Dustin Rhodes as “Seven” fresh off a strong run in the WWF as Goldust, only to have him publicly criticize the gimmick, and then not use him since?
How did the mute Kane suddenly develop the ability to speak without his voice-assisting device?
Bret Hart recently did a “shoot” television interview on Goldberg; however, Hart has been openly a fan of Goldberg and holds no grunge against him.
When Lance Storm won the services of Major Gunns, there was no stipulation to how long she must remain a P.O.W. to Team Canada.
If the Undertaker is truly an “American Bad Ass,” why does he look like a member of the DOA?
Why would WCW introduce “Papaya” as the wife of Kwee Wee only to drop her and give him a new valet, Paisley the following week?
If The Great Muta is a huge International star (which he legitimately is), why he is he treated like a lower level jobber?
Tidbits: This past Wednesday, former WWF champion Stone Cold Steve Austin and Debra got married in Las Vegas, NV … The return of Ric Flair bolstered “Nitro” to its best rating (3.2) in a competitive situation since January 10th … ECW cancelled weekend shows in Des Moines, IA, Omaha, NE and Sioux City, IA due to injuries … Recently released WCW superstar Christopher Daniels received a try out match for the WWF last week. His try out was against Kurt Angle … Goldberg appears at the Nitro Grill on Sept. 28th.
