- MVP's character is partly based off of a real person. He was a bouncer at a night club and a lot of athletes used to show up. Most of them were cool, but one particular athlete was a total dick and MVP almost had a major incident with him. It was none other than NBA basketball player Stephon Marbury. I know that MVP has mentioned in the past that his gimmick was a take-off based on rich athletes, but I never heard himever mention a specific name before -- until now. So now we all know exactly where MVP got the inspiration for his character.
- Sid Vicious conducted a conference call with the media. Sid announced that he is returning to the squared circle for the NWA. Sid will be apart of the NWA Showcase television tapings on 4/18 at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island and 4/19 at the Oceanfront Arena in Wildwood, NJ. “When I think of wrestling, I think of Harley Race and the NWA,” said Vicious during the conference call.
“My ultimate goal is to get back to the WWE,” said Vicious to my question regarding his future in the business. Sid said he did have contact with WWE last year. Sid also said he told TNA he wasn't interested in them because of their 'small format.'
Sid said he didn’t want to go out the way he did with his horrific leg injury in WCW. Sid said he is training about six to seven hours a day.
- For the week of March 17-23, USA remained at #1 among top rated cable networks in prime time. Spike TV came in at #7 for the week, and Sci Fi ranked #15.
