- Jim Ross announced on his blog that he had signed a new two year contract with WWE.
- Based on Nielsen's fast national numbers, the 1/18 Smackdown scored a 2.8 broadcast rating.
- Congratulations to Magnum TA, 48, and wife Courtney Allen on the recent birth of their twins, Lucy and Tucker. They were born premature on 10/27, but both have been released from the hospital. Allen was at one time married to four horsemen member Tully Blanchard.
- Also, congrats go to former WWE superstar Jacques Rougeau Jr. (The Mountie), 47, who was married in the ring on 12/29 at an independent show in Verdun, Quebec. Rougeau married his long time girlfriend Nancy Menard. After wards, Rougeau wrestled in the main event. The show drew 2,200 fans (more than doubled the attendance at the recent TNA house show).
- AT UFC 80, BJ Penn defeated Joe Stevenson by submission in the main event.
