Interview with Daniel Puder

Interview conducted: June 8, 2006

Key:
SG> Steve Gerweck
DP> Daniel Puder

SG> What do you most take away from your Tough Enough experience?
DP> I learned more about myself and what I wanted in life. I enjoyed meeting some of the best athletes in the world and I made a great friend, Al Snow.

SG> Why do you believe WWE released you? How did you learn of your release?
DP> I could have been released for a few things: Kurt Angle incident, my pal was too much, people didn’t like me, (laugh), I have no clue.

SG> Do you feel an eventual WWE return is possible? What circumstances would facilitate such a return?
DP> The only reason I would go back would be in ECW and to have a match with Kurt (Angle).

SG> What was your experience like training in Louisville?
DP> I had a great time and the best coaches possible. Al Snow, Danny Davis, Paul Hayman, Bill DeMott, and Tommy Dreamer. How can you not have a great time.

SG> Maybe a bit too personal, but what have you done with the money you won from Tough Enough?
DP> I have invested a lot of it.

SG> What is your recollection of your "Dixie dog fight" with the Miz?
DP> Mike is a tough son of a gun. He did a great job.

SG> Tell us exactly what happened in the Kurt Angle incident?
DP> Kurt offered up a challenge and I took it. We stared to wrestle and I locked him.

SG> Had you been called up, do you think WWE would have given you the proper push?
DP> I think they would have. If you spend so much money on a person then you have to do something with them.

SG> I know you are currently involved in MMA, but if WWE calls tomorrow, do you go back?
DP> Its up to my management.

SG> What is the biggest rib someone played on you?
DP> I never got ribbed on.

SG> Looking back at your OVW/WWE experience, do you have any regrets?
DP> No, I had a great time.

SG> What is your opinion of Paul Heyman?
DP> He is the smartest genius in entertainment today.

SG> You were recently spotted backstage at a TNA event. Any chance you'll be signing with TNA?
DP> I like everything has to offer. I think Puder and TNA could fit.

SG> What is your opinion of the current TNA product?
DP> Again I like what they have to offer. It's a good product.

SG> What has life after WWE been for you?
DP> Life has been good. I enjoy every day. I have 12 Puder's Knockouts, A nice place in Cali, and I'm back hanging with my old friends.

SG> Tell us whats going on with you and MMA?
DP> I am fighting for a company called Strike Force. I have a really good thing with them.

SG> Which do you enjoy more, MMA or pro wrestling?
DP> I love both.

SG> Tell us something that would surprise people to learn about Daniel Puder?
DP> I have never gotten drunk. I don't drink.

SG> What are your career goals from here on out?
DP> I want to continue with sports full time till about 30 years old, then I want to go back to school, get married somewhere and run for Governor.
